Harvest veggie, YUM!

Have visited for Thursday night wood fired pizza and drinks. Absolutely LOVE their pizza options! We look forward to future eats! Staff are attentive and friendly and Mike & Shannon rock! They KNOW what to make, how to cook and we have been seeking THEIR ways of healthier and tastier eats!

Atmosphere: Great location in regards to being close to the waterfront. They have quite a large outdoor seating area. The bathrooms were clean and the inside seating area felt light and airy, nice bar area too. It has a shared parking lot with the LTC building so good luck getting parking. Service: They were definitely understaffed in the kitchen and servers. We watched other tables around us and it took a long time to get food (including ours). The server we had was really nice and personable and you could tell she really cared about her job and the restaurant. Food: This is where it went wrong. I live in a bigger city than Manitowoc, and the food here honestly tasted like something an aunt would cook at a family reunion just to have something on the table. I know for Manitowoc to have a restaurant that serves "fresh" food is a big deal (a lot of fast food here) so I think they should make it based on lack of local restaurants. However, if you are from a bigger city, I would not make this a place to stop. Everything was under seasoned and basic and just not memorable. I know for a fact I could have made a better meal for myself at home and my work colleague agreed. For the "quality" of ingredients to price comparison in my opinion, not worth it. Maybe I just came at the wrong time since they apparently switch their menu a lot? We tasted 2 entrees, 2 sides and a dessert so that is what this review is based off of. Really bummed out because most of the other reviews on here were raving how good it was.

Excellent food, great service and a healthy pour of wine! Loved that all the food is locally sourced and prepared fresh upon order. We enjoyed the Short Ribs and Scottish Salmon = DELICIOUS and wished we had room for dessert....Highly recommend if you are in the area.

For someone who is influenced by everyone else's food selection, I totally appreciate the limited menu. The poached cod and black rice satisfied my hunger without that "I'm stuffed" feeling. Also with the ever changing menu it makes you want to come back and try something else. Manitowoc deserves this!

Pork belly pizza

Stopped in over the weekend while visiting my friend. The place is small and quaint, but has a clean atmosphere. We opted to sit outside on the patio since it was a nice night. We split the beet bruschetta and the special of the day, which was a pork belly pizza. The beet bruschetta was good, except they went a little overboard on the beets. The pork belly pizza was absolutely delicious! The candied pieces of pork mixed well with the sauce. I highly recommend it, although I'm unsure if they have it often or if it was only for a limited time as it was a special. Overall a very nice place and if I lived in the area I would frequent it often!

Stopped in here with my Brother-in-laws family for dinner based on his recommendation and my desire to try something new. I have eaten at other fresh farm to table restaurants in Metro Detroit but this was a first for me in Wisconsin. The restaurant itself is very modern with the Wood fired Pizza Oven having a very visible prominent role in the Restaurant in one corner and a nice contemporary bar on the far wall providing a very nice aesthetic and cool factor. In addition to the inside dining there is also an outdoor dining terrace which is open during good weather. Overall the facilities are a major plus for this restaurant. Keeping in mind that this is a Farm to Table restaurant, there is a chalk board as you come into the restaurant highlighting the farms and produce that are providing the ingredients for the evenings meal. This is definitely a nice touch as it reinforces what this restaurant is all about. Relative to my meal, I was eating on the lighter side this night and ordered their soup of the day with accompanying salad. The soup was creamy potato whose ingredients included kennebec potatoes, wood fired roasted shallots and garlic, dry sherry, cream topped with crispy bacon, and fresh chives all pureed into to a very delectable soup. To accompany the soup, I ordered the Fall Harvest salad whose ingredients included lettuce mix, roasted sweet peppers, tomatoes, carrot and Japanese turnip curls, red wine, poached cranberries, cucumbers with shaved MontAmore topped with a light grilled citrus vinaigrette. Salad ingredients were all very fresh with great taste and the citrus vinaigrette really set it off. Overall, whether you are into the farm to table scene or not, the quality of the food, freshness of the ingredients and how well it is prepared make this a must stop if you are in the Manitowoc area. Five stars.

Walk in the Garden

So delicious and delightful. The cherry tomatoes are a burst of flavor. This "Walk in the Garden" tasted exactly like summer, enjoyed on the outdoor patio. Finished with a slice of flourless chocolate cake ... bliss on a fork!

First time here, wasn't overly impressed, but I'm going to give it another try after they have…read morebeen open for a while. Their other location in Two Rivers does a great job, but I think they are trying some different ideas here and might be working out some kinks with new staff right now. One example is the changing menus. On Saturday Night they do a Steak Night with a limited menu. I have to admit, my wife and I came in to try their pizza and it wasn't on the menu on a Saturday. We decided to stay and eat off their Saturday Menu, but we did see two tables of people come in, look at the menu and leave. Not good! The steak menu was priced (approx) $30-40, and I think it was a bit of a shock when you come in for a burger and fries or pizza! They also change their menus on Tuesday and Wednesday. All seems a bit confusing, but once the regulars are developed it probably won't be as big a problem. Right now, I'd say check their menu on Facebook be for you come in. Tonight we ordered the Smothered Chicken and the Ribeye Sandwich along with an Onion Ring Appetizer. The rings were a little overdone and kind of heavy with oil. Good size, but would only order them again if I knew they wouldn't be overcooked. The Smothered Chicken was on of tonight's "specials", so it wasn't in the written menu. The waitress should have told us it was Cajun Spiced when she shared the specials (my wife doesn't like Cajun). Would have definitely ordered something else. The bun on the Ribeye Sandwich was excellent. The steak was very tender, but maybe too tender. It just seemed that it was missing the normal texture expected in steak. Also, they don't have A1 Steak Sauce (which would have been great with this sandwich) which I thought was weird, especially since it was "steak night"! The only sauce they had was mayo based. They do something I've not seen before with the bill. They add the tax to each individual item before they total the bill. Confusing when trying to figure out the tip. I did find a price error on one of my items, which they corrected when I pointed it out. (Onion Rings were listed at $7 , but he computer picked them at $8.33). Probably a programming error or a menu misprint, either way, they fixed it!

Arrived near closing last night, salad bar emptied, my favorite thing, had me demonstrably upset…read more But I was treated with ULTRA respect and understanding and given a delicious salad bar-like salad, more than just a side salad. THEN I had LOBSTER ! The chef made it so perfect, tender, like char grilled flavorful even. Better than ANY Red lobster (not putting Red lobster down ) WOW, I decided to tip HER too, the Chef!!! Seriously one of Manitowoc's best newer, classy but comfortable nice restaurants. Check em out, support their small business. Also, come summertime, they have outdoor seating available, TVs for watching sports, everything under the sun (nearly). Blessings to all!

Ambience and Experience: We were looking for a good Italian place and it had good reviews on Google…read moreso we decided to give this place a shot. You order at the bar and then wait in that area until you are seated at a table in the dining room. While we waited, we decided to try a couple of their fall cocktails. Not great, the drinks were very weak and you could tell were made with the cheapest booze available. Presentation was neat but the first sip quickly disintegrated the hype. Food: I have a nagging suspicion that most of what we ordered was not made fresh in-house. Everyone at our table ordered pasta except for one kid's meal and when glancing around at the tables around us, everyone had ordered just pizza. I think that is what this place is know for because their pasta ain't it. My wife and I tried the gnocchi and ravioli. You could tell they were not made in-house, especially the gnocchi (gummy, chewy texture is a dead giveaway. True homemade gnocchi will melt in your mouth). The sauces lacked spunk and everything just tasted canned and frozen to me. Portion sizes were also on the smaller side yet prices were expensive. $18 for frozen/packaged ravioli in a maybe homemade sauce (didn't taste like it)? Yeah right. Every chef knows that pasta is an easy dish to make good money on because pasta is cheap and easy to make, $18 for pasta with no protein additions is absurd. I will say the kid's pizza was probably the best dish on the table. You could tell that was made fresh and with real ingredients. Not sure why that did not translate to the pastas. So weird. Verdict: Staff were friendly and service was prompt but the food and drinks were lackluster at best. Not worth the price for a sit down meal, more along the line of quick service. Not sure if something was just off the night we went since this place is fairly well liked in the area, not sure.

I keep going back and forth on my review. One thing to note, the fried ravioli appetizer is spicy,…read morelike jalapeño flavor. I wish the menu stated this or the server told us. Too spicy for me. I ordered the daily special. Pasta, chicken, asparagus, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, shaved Parmesan cheese with a garlic olive oil sauce. It was boring. No flavor, hardly any parm cheese and no sun dried tomatoes. My hubby got the stuffed shells and it was really good! He ordered a side of meatball and sausage but there was no sauce. Just odd. He had to ask for extra sauce. The cheesy garlic bread and minestrone soup are yummy. Some delicious meals and some meals eh. I will be back. I just need to stick with the baked penne and meatball. Always good service.
