They diagnosed my car for $1600 and did things to it that it did not need at all then they told me they would give me a break off of the price. So they gave me a break off of the original price of $2100 which included two new front brake pads. Well they never installed the front brake pads so the price that they gave me was off of the work that never needed to be done in the first place I didn't ask for a tuneup and I didn't ask for a new spark plugs and I didn't ask for all of these things that they did but they had already done them so I could not get my money back. The owner said i'll take $400 off while the $400 was basically the money that it would've cost with the front pads installed. I was very loyal to this repair shop for years, but after this situation of dropping money for nothing in the car being in the exact same non-drivable condition after pick up is just really frustrating and unfair... The owner really did not do anything to help me and I do not recommend that anyone use this shop. I was previously under the impression that they were the last honest shop in the low country. read more

UPDATE 12 August 2021: Confirmed with manufacturer that Holly Ridge Tire Pros installed the wrong oil filter which explains all the issues. This business does not know how to conduct a simple oil change. Look elsewhere for services. 5 August 2021 8-month pregnant wife contacts Holly Ridge Tire Pros to schedule an oil change. They say go ahead and come in and we'll get it done. Upon arrival and vehicle drop off the vehicle sat in the lot for 2 hours while my pregnant wife and daughter sit in the lobby. My wife approached the staff and they suddenly shifted their attention toward the Jeep as they were going to close in the next hour. The mechanic rushed through the oil change and my wife got on her way. On her way home she notices the oil light and check engine light come on and thinks nothing of it as that occasionally happens when oil is overfilled. The vehicle sat at home until Sunday when we recognized the same issues, but now also with issues accelerating and loss of power. All indications of a messed up oil change. 9 August 2021 Wife calls Holly Ridge Tire Pros and speaks to a woman at the front desk that claims it's just coincidence and it's probably her fault the check engine light and check oil light came on within minutes of driving the car away. She's encouraged to bring it in and get it assessed and is charged 50$ in labor for an assessment that my 2 year old could have made by putting her foot on the gas pedal. The front desk then calls my wife and tells her they can fix the issue for a minimum of 275$ in labor. At that point we picked up the vehicle and took it to the manufacturer for service. read more

I've taken my truck there multiple times for it's state inspection. I've also taken my SUV there to have a tire plugged. Even while super busy, they are very efficient and quick with state inspections. This year, my trucks battery had died shortly before the state inspection and would not read. They recommended I drive it. When I returned the next day, I had a check engine light that had never been there before. Within 2 hours I knew what was wrong and how much it was going to cost to fix it. In addition, they were able to give me a ride home so I didn't have to find a ride. I had my vehicle back within 2 days and drove it and it has now passed the state inspection. The technicians are very professional and the office staff when you walk in are extremely nice and professional. I highly recommend taking your vehicles here! read more

This place is amazing. Friendly, helpful, and trustworthy. I cannot say enough good things about this business. If I could give them more stars I would. I moved to North Carolina from California. Although I'm not a true California (proud transplanted Texan), my car had California license plates. Californians don't have a very good reputation in other parts of the country, but especially in the south. I stopped by regarding a minor issue, which they addressed in a matter of mere minutes (even though they were swamped) and sent me on my way, free of charge no less! They were gracious, kind, and efficient. UPDATE: We continued to use them for the three years we lived in the area. Always amazing service, efficient, reliable, and honest. I will never return to this place. I gave them 3 chances. 1.) ordered and paid for high end Michelin tires for my wife's Acura. - they installed light truck tires and send her on her way. Tires were $50 each less than the tires I purchased. 2.) they did not transfer my TPM sensors when I swapped rims on my truck. I was on vacation and had a problem with a tire leaking air. Even had it checked before I left home and was told it was a leaky valve. Valve was replaced but the tire still lost air as I was driving. Stopped at a Pep Boys to get it patched about halfway to the beach. They couldn't find a hole in the tire and said it should be fine. By that evening, the tire was flat. I called Holly Ridge Tire Pros expecting to buy a new tire. They assured me they'd find the hole in mine. I was skeptical since two other places couldn't find the anything in the tire. To my surprise Holly Ridge found the hole and patched it! $22 out the door! They worked me in and saved me a lot of money when they could have easily taken advantage of me and told me I needed a new tire. Friendly prompt service. Great tire price options for new good off brand tires. I'm a believer that you should take a newer car to the dealer but if you don't, IMO you can trust these guys to do the work. I've got an 10+ yr older diesel car and they're consistently reliable. Good prices on repairs. Same price as dealer on oil changes. The best thing, they don't lie about a problem to sell stuff and run your bill up. My wife has come here by herself and they didn't take advantage of her any differently because she's a woman. She has no clue about stuff and would buy a new air filter every oil change if they told her it had to be done. They don't do that. Even if it's dirty they've pulled it, showed me and said you can probably go another few oil changes but you'll need a filter soon. (Soon could be a year depending on driving. Meat and potatoes: trust worthy to not lie about a problem and fair good prices. I've bought the off brand tires that with install 60$ a tire and they hold up well. I have been using them for my cars needs for years and have always been pleased and confident in their services . Today I was quoted 30 minutes for a state inspection. I asked the receptionist how long because I could come back another time if the wait was too long. I waited and waited. After over an hour my car had not even been taken in for service. There was no explanation given to me for the delay. I did not complain because that is not my nature. When the car was finally ready there was absolutely NO apology for the long wait. I was there for 5 minutes short of 2 hours. That is nowhere near 30 minutes. I understand everyone is short staffed. Please be upfront about wait times and keep customers posted on the progress or lack of. The least I deserved was an I'm sorry for the longer than expected wait. I'm extremely disappointed and will not be returning nor recommending anymore. read more

Please do not ever step foot in this "facility" unless you want to spend your life savings, all of the time afforded you on earth, and still have a broken car. I arrived at Holly Ridge to get my oil changed buy a new set of tires, though I wasn't certain they were necessary. In what was effectively an act of faith, I informed the staff of my ignorance, and asked them for their opinion on the matter. Note that this was after I had made it very clear I was willing to buy a new set of tires, and I fully expected a response along the lines of "well, you don't need the tires changed per se, but it wouldn't hurt..." The staff changed my oil, took a look at my tires, and said that they were fine for the cross country trip I had planned- effectively turning down the half a grand I had planned to spend. A few months ago my Jeep needed tires n front end work, they did n excellent job n fast service. Very happy with their service will definitely be going back for future work. I just recently went back to them for brakes n a rattle noise, once again did a good job, i did have to take my jeep back for the rattle noise n one of their mechanics went for test ride with me n i pointed out the noise n left it there, they fixed the noise with no extra charge. It needed a repair for something Holly Ridge Tire Pros supposedly already did. I don't believe they did the service they charged me for and when I explained what happened they did not believe me or believe they were at fault and I couldn't prove it so I did not get any reimbursement. Had tires changed and an inspection. Was a quick service which was appreciated for the higher price. I was in a hurry to get to a family event after and I didn't inspect the job prior to leaving. When I got home later that afternoon I took a closer look at the wheels and saw that there was about a six inch scrape on lip of one of the rims from the machine the removed the old tires. When I went back for them to see it the next day the senior man there came out and looked at it and tried to push that it was curb rash and after I pointed out that there was no marks on the tire that would be there if I hit a curb he offered to throw some paint on it real quick. I declined as that will not fix the scraped metal but just cover the notably deformed metal area with black paint. I have worked really hard for the things I have and I am very proud of my truck so when I take it to a shop for service or whatever the case may be it is important to me that the job be done right without flaw. Took my 2011 car into this shop for an oil change and an inspection and upon picking it up after two days, the battery was dead and my car didn't start. After going back into the shop and explaining my car didn't start in the lot, some one from the shop came out, stated they probably left light on, and proceeded to jump my car. I drove to the gas station (10 minutes away) after picking up my car, and my car died at the gas station. The car could not be jumped. We tried jumping it for over 20 minutes and the battery was completely shot. The shop didn't take responsibility for the battery and we had bad customer service after this event had happened.
