He did not tell me to check the sign. I said I saw the store hours were 9-9. He said "Well that sign does not say their hours are 9-9". Dillon answered and provided me with really good information and making sure that the filter is soaked and that The water is filled up to the top to ensure that the water can cycle through. He was very informative about other options for the aquarium as well and made sure to let me know that even after setting up the Aquarium with the water conditioner and letting it run for 24 hours, the fish tank is not yet ready for fish. Warning: I was surprised to hear this because I've seen a lot of videos online claiming that you can just add an introduced fish after the 24 hours, but he said that there is a chance that they will not survive because the ecosystem hasn't been built up and the bacteria, hasn't been introduced long enough. I'm glad I spoke to him because he said that I would need to wait a couple of weeks get the water tested to make sure that the ammonia levels and the bacteria are within the right range to support the fish. I share this information in case anybody is also looking at aquariums and to safeguard them from prematurely buying fish only to see some of them die as a result of inadequate aquarium conditions. Dillon was so friendly and I'm thankful for all his help. He gave me a lot of good pointers. I would have definitely made some mistakes if I hadn't spoken to him. Some of the other things he mentioned were the importance of having a heater. He did not recommend the need for a an air pump because the filter should just do its job. And he also mentioned that you'd want to buy a product called stability which helps kickstart the bacteria development. he mentioned feeding the tank as if there were fish present daily. I found this really interesting, but he said that this was an important step as well to get the tank ready for fish to enter.

They had a small selection of toys and grooming items, nothing impressive. I'm a dog lover and knew if I held any of the pups I would want to take one home , so we just observed through the window. While we were observing, I noticed 1 dog in a cage with 3 others being attacked. Everyone said they were playing but they kept going for his neck, and he wasn't even defending himself... it broke my heart to not be able to help and put him in a different cage. We also saw a cute min Schnauzer with tons of energy in a cage with another breed who was either very tired or very sick. All the dogs looked like they could use a bath and none looked happy. Prices were not listed and I didn't bother to ask since pet store prices are historically high. If I was in the market for a puppy and wanted to know the lineage I would go to a breeder. It is not clear where these random dogs come from and even what they are mixed with. In my opinion, these dogs are not much different than the ones you would find at the Humane Society, other than the price. We left Petland Puppies feeling sad for the canines, hoping they all find a forever home soon.
