Is love too strong a word to use about a hardware store? I definitely like this old fashioned hardware store where they have staff that can help you find what you want. You can get just one or a few of practically any screw, washer, nut or bolt that you may need without having to buy a prepackaged amount (try to do that at a big box store). Hollywood Hardware is definitely an asset to my neighborhood and I always go to them first whenever I need a little something for a home project. I have had keys made, gotten my lawnmower blades sharpened, found many a wonderful tool at good prices, and bought gift items, housewares, and even jewelry there. read more

Yup, As good as it gets! I was here to get some drywall anchors for my first home. The guy at the store was very helpful in explaining what I needed for my application, he did a fantastic job in helping me find the right product without wasting any of my time. We love Hollywood Hardware and not only because it is less than 2 miles from our house. The random but useful assortment of home repair, kitchen, and kitsch. It is easy to take our daughter here and let her wander with plenty for her to look at while we find what we really need with the help of the great staff and owner. Also, if you have an old house (ours is circa the 1930s) this is the store for you with a lot of fixtures that fit with those old homes. They also have a delightful selection of yard art for gifts, and reasonably priced patio furniture that they deliver for free within a pretty wide radius for such a small shot (they even delivered our Christmas tree this last year!). read more

Like it was in the old days..As soon as I walked in the door someone asked "how can i help ypu?" WOW!!! I was immediately given the attention a customer SHOULD have when entering a family-owned hardware store. I was worried it would cost me a fortune to fix my vacumn but...after a little instruction on how to redo the two-prong plug..it only cost me $1.00!!! And they have a wide assortment of fun goumet knick knacks too! Alot of unusal items too. Paint/garden/welding helmets too. Its fun just walking around. What a great store and staff. I went here a few months ago to have some keys made. They were odd keys that other places were not able to duplicate but the ladies here had no problem! For a Mom and Pop place, i found them to be extremely helpful. If they don't have it in stock, which is quite likely since they are so small, they can get it, or at least help you get it. I got keys made here and they were cheap and fast. I'll definitely go here for any of my hardware needs before I resort to going to one of the big box, depot-esque places. Hollywood Hardware is my go to hardware store. The selection is great and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. You don't have to buy a box of screws, you can buy one and match it to exactly what you want. If you are not sure, the staff will help you. They are familiar with their products be it caulk (there are dozens of types and brands), paint, sprinkler heads, the right tool to get the job done or you name it. Their advice has been invaluable to me. On more than one occasion I have been steered to a better product to get the job done.The only down side is I can't get in and out quickly because I always end up browsing As a small business they are customer driven and seem to stock what is needed. The employees never give the impression they "just work here", they are on staff to help you. I just can't say enough about this hardware store....it is great read more

I have to admit it, I go to Home Depot for the prices (this homeownership is expensive) and to Hollywood for the advice. I love that they can walk me through the steps of a project, steer me to the right product, and that one of the guys there really likes to throw in a few colorful words into our conversations. I came here looking for a small little nail to fix a hinge on my Lucite purse, the staff member helped me right away, even fixed it for me and didn't charge me for the nail nor the repair. Talk about customer service!! I held my cash out still thinking this was a joke, but nope he didn't take it. HH is great, the staff really takes time out to discuss your needs. The remodel seems to be a bit ongoing.. But it's still well organized. I've been a regular customer about 3-4 times a month and still have yet to have a poor experience. The only suggestion I have for improvement... I've always come out of this place with something (it's supposed to have changed hands recently)(less mom/pop). I'd come home with kitchen goods, candles, screws, colorful duck tape, umbrella, flashlights, even mouse traps (couldn't find this kind elsewhere) and seasonal stuff like crab feed tools. I love this place!!!!! This is a smaller hardware store that seems to carry whatever I need. You name it, they have it. Paint, tools, hardware, lumber, pipes, sprinklers, landscaping, cleaning supplies, pesticides, etc, it's amazing how many different things they can squeeze into that little building. This is a great local hardware store. It's absolutely amazing how much "stuff" they have crammed into the store. Ever since I've lived in Hollywood Park (4 years), I've been able to find what I've needed there 90% of the time. It's my first choice now. I hardly ever bother with Home Depot anymore because the "shopping" experience at Hollywood Hardware is so much more pleasant. Great local hardware store. Went in for wire cutters and electrical tape, since the squirrels had a hay day with our bistro lights again. I came out with exactly what I needed... did you know electrical tape comes in many different colors and they have many. Now my repair to the wire will not be so obvious. This is local old time hardware at its best. The staff understands old homes and what they need. No question is dumb here....these are problem solving people! They also have basic tools..... you don't have to buy a pre packed super sized mega set of 20 wrenches to get the one size that you need.
