This restaurant is inside my hotel, Hyatt Centric French Quarter. The Caesar salad was not good. There was way too much Caesar dressing that tasted and looked more like Italian dressing. There was no shaved Parmesan, there was like two pieces of artichoke parts, which was interesting and those are probably the only two things I liked about the salad. The grilled chicken was so salty and brown. I didn't even look like chicken and it was super chewy. My husband liked his chicken sandwich. The crème brûlée was perfect, the staff are nice and friendly, but super slow. And my soda was flat. I probably would not eat here again. I have a rule when traveling to never, ever eat in a hotel. That rule, like the rule never to say never, is now subject to review because hotels have vastly upgraded their cuisine that can sometimes compete with other great restaurants. I still find eating in a hotel few and far between when I have standalone mom and Pop owned restaurants that I think are far superior. However, the Holmes appeared to offer a gluten-free pancake with bananas Foster that was somewhat off the menu when I wandered in this joint. The Holmes is in the Hyatt Centric Hotel on Iberville and it takes up the corner of the ground floor and spacious super high ceiling space that is open and inviting. I went up to the counter and asked if they offered the gluten free pancakes and the chef was able to make it for me. These pancakes were so light and delicious, a real treat for someone with Celiac. I asked and did personally thank the chef. The bad news is I went back recently and called and was told they no longer offer the gluten free pancakes or waffle. read more

The hotel restaurant has great beignets. They were flaky, hot, and fresh. Once you order, the food will be delivered to your table. The location is beautiful and very clean. What a great way to start your day in the Hyatt Centric hotel. read more

We had breakfast here as part of globalist program w Hyatt. Breakfast was delicious I loved the light and fluffy pancakes, shrimp and grits and spinach omelette. My son loved the Yakamein but it's a heavy breakfast as it has beef, eggs noodles and shrimp. He also enjoyed the chicken and waffles, pancakes and breakfast sandwich. Came here during a Christmas bar hop with my cousins. I asked the bartender, Felipe, how much a French 75 with Cognac would be. He listed different cognacs and I settled on Hennessy be. Before placing my order, I asked how much would a French 75 with Hennessy. Felipe told me $18. Ok bet, I placed my order and got a festive French 75 with Hennessy. I happily took my pictures for Yelp before receiving a bill for the $18 Hennessy plus a modified cocktail up charge of $4. I asked what the up charge was for and was told because I added cognac to my drink. Initially I asked Felipe for the total price of a French 75 with Hennessy and was told $18. He did not mention any form of an up charge. When I told him it's ok, just take it off. He took the drink from in front of me and went to dump it out. Afterwards I ordered ONLY Hennessy with the manager. This man threw away an entire shot of Hennessy, just so that the manager would have to make me a whole other drink with A SHOT OF HENNESSY. Holmes Restaurant is part the Hyatt Centeic Hotel in the French Quarter. The Holmes Restaurant is actually in the lobby of the hotel and it was empty on Mother's Day but that was okay. My wife and I sat down and one person is working the bar and the restaurant. My wife and I and placed our orders with an appetizer and 30 minutes later everything comes out at the same time cold. We get cold faucet water and the my sandwich was completely wrong. The server never came to check on us and she actually disappeared after we got our food. The manager and the servers are foreign so communication is limited. I had to go to the manager to get the bill because my servers was nowhere to be found and she did not take off one item off the bill as she promised. It was so bad my wife and I could have actually walked out of the restaurant without paying and no one would have noticed. I don't recommend. read more

Our bartender, Ken did a great job tonight. We got two complimentary drinks (beer or wine) since we are Globalists. It was really nice of Hyatt Centric to do this. And Ken was so nice to serve us with a smile. The bar is spacious and they have a beautiful curio where they feature gorgeous bottles on display. Really enjoyed looking at all the bottles. This is a beautiful lobby bar/restaurant in the Hyatt Centric around the corner from Bourbon Street. I was seated at a high booth across from the bar where I had a great view of the jazz band that was playing. I ordered a cup of the gumbo to start, but I didn't like it at all. It was watery and had a funny taste. The hostess came over and offered to take it off my bill or get me something else. I ordered the deviled eggs instead. For my entree I ordered the Creole Jambalaya, which was excellent! It was a large portion of the rice and tomatoes loaded with shrimp and andouille sausage, with 3 large blackened shrimp on top. Tasty and like I said, excellent! The deviled eggs came out after I started to get full, but I ate 2 of the 4 halves. They were really good! I then asked for a to go box. The hostess was super sweet to help out while my waitress was busy, and not only did she bring me hot sauce and offer me more ice for my drink, but she brought ny check and when I asked her where the restroom was she walked me to it when she could have easily just pointed it out. My waitress was nice too and followed up to see if I liked the deviled eggs. Did I say they were great? I had a very nice evening, not rushed and with delicious food that I would come back here for. read more

Hyatt Centric is a pleasant surprise. Going to a bar in a hotel isn't something I would typically gravitate to but the drinks are top notch, the service is great, and the food is good. The area is a cute vibe too. -The craft cocktails are a must! Elder Daughter - Perfection Strawberries & Cream - Excellent dessert cocktail. Martini Espresso - Very Nice. The flavors blended well. Bourbon Refresher-Exactly that refreshing! -The service was great. The bartender Ryan is attentive and funny. He gave great recommendations for food and drinks. The other bartenders quickly attended to other patrons. -Fried Pork Chop Sandwich is a great bar bite and quite filling. The pork chop is a thin fried pork chop great on a sandwich. I thought the ham would be overkill but everything complemented each other nicely. -Blackened Salmon & Risotto. Great dinner choice. The Salmon didn't have a fishy taste and was seasoned enough...I would have preferred maybe a tad more blackening seasoning but still very good. The risotto went well with the salmon. It was cheesy with just the right amount of creaminess. -Wings. I didn't love them. They are passable. -Cornbread. Definitely worth getting. It's thick and dense without being dry. The condiment that comes with it complements the cornbread well. Would definitely soak up some alcohol. Also the bathroom was ridiculously clean! read more

I was looking for a space to host a very large group happy hour and called Holmes by accident - it was a blessing in disguise and I can't recommend this place enough. I spoke with Lau on the phone and then coordinated with Santiago who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a group of 50! Stopped by for the Christmas popup and it was incredible! They did a fantastic job decorating and sticking on the theme of drinks that sleigh. I had the Ninja Gingerbread Old Fashioned and Santa's Sleigh and both were incredibly tasty and visually stunning. My partner also had a drink that I can't remover the name of but was serves in an upside down Christmas tree mug which was also tasty. We were there at happy hour and they gave free bar snacks and mulled wine as well. The staff were friendly and made incredible drinks. I had never heard of this bar before probably because it's in a hotel but it's on my radar now and I will be back. read more

We arrived here at about 9 pm after a four hour flight into New Orleans. We were starving! Holmes did not disappoint. Beautiful upscale New Orleans vibe near, but not in the middle of, all the French Quarter excitement. The food was delicious. The service was outstanding! Thank you Ty! And no, she didn't pay me to say that :) We had the 1849 bourbon specialty drink together with a pomegranate martini. Those were both delicious! This is a hidden gem. I guess most people don't come here cuz it's in the hotel. I'm so happy we choose this cuz usually hotel restaurants are the least option when we travel. The food is surprisingly good, love the duck duo and shrimp jambalaya, the shrimp and duck were cooked perfect so it's tender and juicy. The cornbread is delicious with the special butter. One of the rudest servers I've ever experienced. I believe the servers name was Cynthia. I sat at the bar and was immediately berated because I'd sat in my friends seat and he'd already ordered food so that would mess up her checks. I explained I was paying the entire bill and I was berated again because we didn't tell them initially we were on one check. She was constantly rude and kept getting our check without us asking for it (and throwing it on the counter!) We'd then ask for more drinks and she'd sigh and say "I guess I can redo your check!" Our usual visit for the Red Dres runs Aug 2023, but an unusual visit to a place we normally don't travel to, Hyatt Centric Holmes. We seemed to walk into the hotel lobby. The place was practically empty, with few at the bar. Service was non-existent, the Bar server helped us. We were there for the coolinary menu and they did have anything as advertised. Food was okay, but below average for the French quarter. Not recommended. read more

However, the second day we ate there for breakfast, I have never ever experienced ruder waitresses. they ignored dirty tables and kept us waiting for at least 20 mins whilst doing nothing at the bar. we asked politely several times to be served and we were still ignored. bad attitude and no care for hotel guests. we ended up walking out! read more

We were staying in the hotel and the menu here looked good. We asked at the counter if we order there and then sit down but the woman said just sit anywhere and they would be around with menus to take our order. The place was probably about 25% full so we assumed we would be served at the very least. After about 5 minutes we got up and grabbed our own menus. About 15 minutes later we still were not waited on. No one came with coffee cups, glasses of water etc... Eventually we grabbed a waiter and asked if we could place an order. I don't think he was the waiter for that section because he seemed annoyed. At that point we had been there for almost 30 minutes so I just said forget it and we can go somewhere where we will actually get served. Definitely won't come back for the remainder of our trip.
