I'm slowly making my way around Little Palestine for the best eats. I read from other people on social media that Holy Buckets is the place to be for halal fried chicken. I had halal beef before in burgers and they were very juicy. I was anxious to try halal fried chicken. They are located in a big strip mall. Parking is very spacious. The restaurant itself is medium size, you have a mix of tables and booths. They didn't have the deals we saw online on their in store menu. It was weird. They said we can order online and they will bring the food out to us. We were a group of three. The customer service was phenomenal, everyone was welcoming. Prices were good for how much you receive. We ordered dark chicken (8 pieces), whole wings (10 pieces), mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and drinks. Palestinians always give a generous amount of food. The dark chicken bucket was a mix of drumsticks and thighs. The thighs were like the size of American chicken breasts. The whole wings were meaty and big. The chicken in general was very succulent and moist. Easily in my top 3 favorite fried chicken places period. I believe the wings came with one biscuit and fries. The biscuit was not dry and honey flavored. The fries were crunchy and seasoned. The mashed potatoes were okay, Popeyes does it better. The mac and cheese tasted different. Different seasonings, it was okay. This is about a 4.5 out of 5. The sides could use some work. read more

Beautiful and catchy design. Take away or dine in Fresh Hot Chicken. NOT fast Food, Hot & Fresh Food. They have a very nice simple sleek designed dine area . Plenty of seating for large groups and can accommodate multiple families. Family friendly restaurant. I ordered the 3 pc tender spicy meal. Came with seasoned shoe string fries . Honey biscuit . Small slaw , and sauces. Very large meal, under $15. Most definitely plenty for 2 people. Their house made special sauce was very tasty. The spicy , I thought was a touch of spice, not too much. Food was surprisingly better than my expectations. I went late & they were out of the masala chicken pizza but the bbq was decent albeit sitting under a heat lamp. Seems like they had off brand soft drinks & the fries were definitely the negative aspects of this place. Price was on the lower side but I was in the southwest suburbs. Amazing tasty chicken... and it's Halal. The flavor is amazing you can tell they cook it in a healthy oil. The taste from the fries and the shrimp and chicken is all different because they cook it with different oils, and they don't fry it in the same place. This is quality food. The food was very hot in temperature which is amazing for me because I love my food hot. The first thing that caught my eye was how clean and presentable it looked. The kitchen looks from the register area very organized not overly crowded. This is what will keep me coming besides the food taste. Prices are great and the customer service is friendly and welcoming. They even have a private area for birthdays or celebrations. They have occasional specials. Came here on a Sunday during Ramadan and there was a huge line and we were all waiting for 10 minutes or more ..someone from inside came and said they ran out of food!!!! what a disappointment. So just fyi, if anyone is planning to come here for iftar ..be there atleast 2 hours before for your food..otherwise you might be out of luck. I wish they prepared better especially knowing it's Ramadan and they might be busy so maybe have extra staff and extra food ? I was shocked that the place was empty, but I was really happy that I didn't have to wait for service. The place is really neat, and it feels like it is pretty to itself on the strip, given that the service all the other services appear to be for things like Halal and lamb, which is delicious as well. May need to see if I can find a review of one of them and try it out.... but back to this place. You get a very generous helping in the amount of food, and it definitely has flavor. I really enjoyed my honey hot chicken sandwich and fries. The hot sauce is a mango habanero sauce. It is for spice lovers, but it just gives a subtle kick. The people there were very nice and hospitable. They had cheesecake and cookies available too. I had to stop myself, though... I've done enough damage for this visit. Holy Buckets has amazing and flavorful fried chicken! When this place first opened, it did not have a dine in area. I remember eating in the parking lot and thinking it was the best chicken. Now they have expanded and it's so clean and spacious. We ordered the holy bowl and hot honey chicken sandwich. Everything was flavorful! The chicken was juicy. The sauce has the right amount of kick. Bonus is that they have fountain soda with free refills which you rarely see in a halal joint. Now they need to open closer to the Northwest Suburbs! When it comes to halal chicken, my go-to place is Holy Buckets in Bridgeview! The food is great, the portions are large, the service is excellent, and the restaurant is clean! My new favorite is the Zinger Bowl! It's filled with yummy mashed potatoes, buttery corn, crispy halal chicken, topped with a spicy sauce. They also offer other bowl options, including the Holy Bowl that comes with fries and hareeka chicken (fiery hot)! Visiting bi weekly from California so thought to give this halal chicken place a try.... Great Customer Service. A bit chaotic during what seemed to be a dinner rush.. I specifically asked if the 3 pc chicken would have a breadt piece and was told yes... but I got 2 thighs and a leg instead. Not upset too much since they tasted really good. The fries were good and the biscuits were really great. I ordered spicy and I would probably say its more like a medium spicy nonetheless really good tender chicken. I feel that management needs to help out more during rush hours (30 minutes for 3 pc chicken n fries) so to make sure customers orders aren't done wrong as not everyone is as forgiving. And I say this because I witnessed one other customer accidentally take the wrong order. I still gave the establishment 5 stars even tho I didn't get the chicken piece I wanted Plus I waited 30 minutes for a 3 piece chicken a d fries... 10 minutes should be tops.... Nonetheless I gave a 5 star simply because of the customer service and the quality of the food. The chicken was so fresh and crispy, I believe it's made to order and absolutely worth the wait. The mashed potatoes were so fluffy and light, mac n cheese was creamy and well seasoned, fries were crispy and delicious, the biscuits were huge and so fluffy and the honey on top completes it without it being sweet. I tried their Abu Deek sandwich and was blown away by how big and tasty it was. If you haven't been here you need to! By far the best chicken I've had! We tried the Abu Deek sandwich and 3 piece tenders and fries. The Abu Deek is supposed to have chicken, mac and cheese, and fries in the sandwich itself. The flavor of the sandwich was good but primarily attributed to the sauce. The chicken itself was dry, there were 6 pieces of mac and 4 fries in the sandwich; had to double check they gave me the right order since I couldn't tell there was anything besides chicken. The addition of the mac and cheese and fries was more of gimmick; didn't do much for the taste of the sandwich. They are overpriced for the sandwiches for sure, $12.99 for sandwich only. The 3 piece tenders were dry with hardly any flavor, no sauces included except for ketchup. Fries were fresh and crisp, biscuit was also good. Sauces were extra to buy. Loved the concept of Holy Buckets. Lots of options to choose from. I got the blazing bowl and my favorite part was the zinger sauce. The mashed potatoes in this bowl are a little confusing - maybe because I'm use to having rice at the bottom of the bowl rather than mashed potatoes. Food took 7-8 minutes to be ready. We had dinner at Kabul Kabob. After walking out, I was like, "Holy cow, there's Holy Buckets!" While my wife browsed a clothing store in this strip mall, I took my son into Holy Buckets to check it out. It's a takeout-only place. They have a few seats for waiting, but no tables. It seemed clean enough inside and well-lit. Although I was already stuffed, I couldn't help but order something to take home because I'm not in this area often. I got a Holy Bowl. I tried some after getting home, and it was pretty good. The chicken seemed like good quality, and wasn't really greasy. Holy Moly! This is a halal chicken restaurant and the strips are amazing. They offer, chicken pieces, strips, bowls, wings, & shrimp. I ordered the 5-piece Gaza Strips for $11.99, comes with fries and a biscuit. These chicken strips are delicious! They are large, plump and juicy.  I don't know what seasoning is in that crispy coating but it is addictive! We could not stop stuffing our faces. The Holy sauce, while not necessary, is a nice addition of sweet and salty (think Chick-fil-a sauce). The fries are average, the biscuit leans more towards a roll than a true biscuit but that's ok. I tried a side of mac & cheese... I don't need to get that again and I'm glad that I decided on the strips instead of the Abu Deek Chicken sandwich (which has crispy chicken, mac & cheese, fries, and holy sauce). The mac was too loose and not very flavorful. I gave samples of my strips to a couple of coworkers who had also never been to Holy Buckets. They were so good, that they placed an order online and went to pick up their own! I will definitely be back for these strips and look forward to trying their other dishes. read more
