Believe me, if I lived in Hercules, I'd be a regular here. Meantime I've been walking on the San Pablo Bay Regional Trail for several years now and noticed how paltry the options have been to find refreshment along the way. Welcome to what I believe is the first coffee cafe in this predominantly residential area. It's located in the Exchange apartment building next to the superior superfood purveyor Dream Bowlz. How refreshing it was to enter this spacious spot decorated with their own custom mural (Photo 4) and serving all sorts of coffee beverages and tempting baked specialties. I only discovered later what an artisan spot this truly is. The coffee beans come from a specialty microroaster, SEY Coffee, based in the East Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Just so you know, Brooklyn is a premier destination for artisanal roasting and the Third Wave coffee movement. The baked goods are from two local businesses. Oakland-based Gregory's Underground Desserts (apparently famous for their cheesecake) and Filipino-owned Ube Area Bakery in Pittsburg. I decided to have the $7 Iced Latte (Photo 8) and try the $4.50 Blueberry Muffin (Photo 9), both excellent choices and exactly what I was hoping for in this casual setting. While leisurely enjoying my purchases, I noticed one of the owners circulating about. His name is Stan, and I told him what a great addition this cafe was to a neighborhood in dire need of his entrepreneurship. Clearly committed to the local community, he was really friendly and generously gave me a couple of the delicious Ube treats to go, a bar and a crinkle cookie (Photo 10). I told him I want to try their signature Ube Latte on my next visit, and I'm genuinely looking forward to it. Now this is the way to run a business. The location is beautiful. Perfect to take a morning jog or walk, but start it OR end it with specifically an iced ube latte or the chicken pesto pastry. Typically, I steer clear of all things ube only because I feel like I've been disappointed too many times. However, my friend and I really felt like they did the Ube latte justice here and it was so yummy. Honestly, the first time I've felt that!!! Plus the barista, Ry, was so sweet and super helpful. Our second (or third?) time visiting HOM coffee and was excited about the Yelp! event sponsored here. Brought my W and we tried some new things. Before I get into the tastings, a shout-out to the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and efficient. Our food and drinks came up quickly even during a pretty brisk morning. Plus, the ambiance is very inviting and comfortable. We were happy to find some cozy chairs still available in the "living room" area with the couch. We also had (another) lovely conversation with the owner, Stan, who is so excited to bring a wonderful and tasty "hang" to the neighborhood. OK, to the tasting! I had an iced pistachio latte, and W had a decaf drip. (Side note, I forgot to order decaf... and I was quite lively for my morning Teams meetings!) The latte was truly yummy! Just enough syrup (I always ask for half syrup because I don't want too much sweet), and a lovely nutty coffee flavor with the almond milk. W's coffee was better than the first time we came, when they didn't have decaf, and we are very happy about that! For food, we tried the ham and cheese croissant, which was so good! A little too crispy on the ham as you can see by the picture, but I like a little burned so it was good for me. And the chicken, mushroom, pesto bite was sooooo good! I am going back just for those! This is Hom Coffee, located at The Exchange at Hercules Bayfront. I stopped here for a coffee and danish. Actually, I ordered a large drip coffee, a cinnamon roll, and a blueberry danish. Then I left a 20% tip. The pastries were fine. They were fresh, soft, and not too sweet. However, the coffee was just warm, and was a bit weak on flavor and aroma. Sorry, minus a star. But the place is nice if you need a place to hangout. Lots of seats and tables. Fancy wireless charging pads will make you stay awhile. If you get bored, right next door is Dream Bowlz. Staff were nice. They zapped my danish in the microwave. Hmm, maybe they should of zapped the coffee too. There's only street parking, and it was limited when I was there in the morning. The café itself was cozy, aesthetic, and welcoming. The charging tables were a nice touch, and I loved that it's tucked away in the corner of Hercules by the shoreline. It's the perfect little spot to relax. I ordered a hazelnut iced latte, and my husband got a regular drip coffee. With my drink, I had the choice between a chocolate croissant or an ube cookie, and I went with the chocolate croissant. It was pretty tasty--I really liked how flaky and buttery the pastry was. My husband also ordered one of the chicken croissants, and honestly, that was even better than the chocolate croissant. Not gonna lie, the coffee just wasn't my cup of... coffee. My hazelnut iced latte tasted more like a regular iced coffee, and it had a pretty burnt flavor without much of the hazelnut coming through. My husband's drip coffee also tasted a little burnt. That said, I think it may have been because they weren't quite ready for the morning rush. There were already quite a few people there when we arrived, and the line kept growing behind us. At the time, there was only one employee working, and she was doing an amazing job handling everything on her own. Thankfully, another team member showed up to help. We ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes for our drinks, which was understandable given how busy they were. I'm definitely planning to come back during a less busy time and give them another try. Located by the Hercules Waterfront, Hōm Coffee is a new cafe offering cool pastries and coffee/tea. The interior has plenty of seating for people to chill and study. Noticed how there were plenty of wall plugs as well! I liked the concept on how it was located below the new apartments and could definitely see this hidden area becoming more bustling as establishments open. I will say though I was disappointed with their Strawberry matcha...I know matcha is in, but the matcha I had here tasted really off and very sour ? It was also quite expensive at $9-$10. I liked the freeze dried strawberries and strawberry foam, but the matcha wasn't made well. Presentation wise though it was gorgeous. Ok, Hercules! I see you! HŌM is a new coffee spot located next to Dream Bowlz by the waterfront. A beautiful and spacious spot with incredibly friendly staff and delicious offerings. Someone ordered a pistachio latte ahead of me in line which sounded delightful, but I wanted to try something trending..an iced banana puree matcha! It's been on my list for a while now, and the staff walked me through their fun matcha menu. The matcha came with what tasted like a banana nut bread topping (see pics), and I was pleasantly surprised that banana matchas are the jam! They also have sweet and savory treats ~ I ordered a ham/cheese croissant that was warmed and served on a plate, and a chocolate chip muffin. Both items were so good, wondering where they are made! There were families and also a lot of laptops inside creating a nice mix and flow of patrons. Would def come back to do some co-working soon. Parking available outside, quick drink turnaround. Finally! A good coffee shop in Hercules! I mean consistently good,so far. A couple months ago my hubby stopped in at the soft opening and didn't get a good latte. But we've been going back since it actually opened and have had good lattes, chai, and scones. Part of their business model is, no tipping. The prices reflect it but that is fine. The service has been friendly and good. It's great to see people come here to hang out or work. Yay! One piece of feedback. There really is no need to pipe music outside. New Kid on the Block Hercules' Bay Front Coffee Spot I stopped by Hercules' new coffee shop on the Bay Front really early after my run. The staff were incredibly friendly! I had my dog with me, and while pets aren't allowed inside, one of the team members offered to hold his leash outside so I could place my order and they'd bring it out to me. I really appreciated that they went out of their way to accommodate me instead of losing my business. I tried the strawberry latte with oat milk. It was delicious, though I would have liked it a bit stronger. Overall, it's wonderful to see more options popping up in our small town, and I'm excited to come back and try more! read more

I was looking at a house nearby and we came here after to grab coffee and pastries. They were great and I enjoyed my cold brew as well as the savory croissants we got. Came back almost a week later with some family who had come to see the house. Even though they were about the close, they were really kind and let us enjoy our beverages there as they cleaned up. Some places would say "we are closing" or try to encourage you to leave but they were very nice and accommodating. Seemed like a family run business and I will definitely continue to support them now that I am moving to the area. Hōm Coffee has only been open since March 2026, but we can already see this becoming a staple coffee spot in Hercules. You can tell a lot of thought went into every detail. The moment you walk in, you're welcomed with good music, high ceilings, handmade artwork, and a clean modern design with bold colors. Even their flooring subtly guides you toward the front counter. It's one of those spaces that just feels intentional and an overall great vibe. Our standout drinks were the matcha with cold foam and the double espresso from Ethiopia. The espresso was smooth, bright, and something we'd order again. Whether you're looking for a place to work, study, coffee catch-up or stop by after a walk around the neighborhood, this is a great spot. They even have wireless charging built right into the countertops, which was a nice touch. Big thanks to Josh for the great customer service and making us feel welcome. Hello, I was invited by my future mother in law to attend this cafe with her and a friend this morning. I happily agreed because I love supporting local coffee shops. I am soo happy I tagged along because we got to meet and chat with the store owner after we placed our order! He spoke about his previous businesses on the East Coast and a secret, not so secret, project that may or may not be in the works! The whole experience felt so welcoming to me. The cafe definitely feels like a spot you can hang out at and feel at home. They have lovely window seats that have beautiful views and wireless charging available! I loved their community mural and they definitely stick to that tight knit community vibe. The baristas behind the counter were extremely friendly and accommodating to not only us, but other customers as well. I ordered from their specialty menu, a mango coconut matcha latte and later went back to order a ham and cheese croissant for my partner. I very much enjoyed the matcha they use. It wasn't too weak, or too strong, and adding a third texture in there?! What a very unique take on a traditional mango matcha! It was definitely a nice surprise for my tastebuds. My mother in law ordered their hot pistachio latte and a pastrami sandwich. I sampled a bit of both and would love to go back and try more of their menu! She also commented that she hadn't had a good pastrami sandwich since she lived in NY and was happy with her sandwich today. Her friend ordered the ube crinkle cookie and it was soo soft and chewy! I come here when I need to get away and indulge in a good work session with tasty drinks and yummy snacks. Hōm is a spacious cafe with high ceilings, various seats, and a lovely community atmosphere. I typically come here for matcha, with my favorite having to be the matcha latte with ube syrup and (in recent days) the seasonal mango coconut matcha latte. The drinks here have rich flavor and a nice little Filipino twist to them. I've also enjoyed some of the pastries they offer in cafe (especially the ensaymada)! Welcome HŌM! We certainly felt like home in Hercules' spacious, classy, down to earth new coffee shop. It definitely filled a gap that the community needed. Upon entrance, there's a beautiful diverse community mural, ample seating, a bar of tasty looking pastries and welcoming baristas. Love how they have Gregory's Underground Bakery cheesecake/pies on the menu. I used to work and live in Oakland and that was my sweet tooth stop after lunch! Love this coffee shop! The interior is such a vibe, and the drinks are delicious. I've been here three separate times, and 2 out of 3 visits my drink has been perfect. I've had the hot matcha twice and the chilled strawberry matcha once (sooo good ). The bathroom is clean, though it could use a bag hook. The tables could also use bag hooks for convenience. I love the tabletop charging stations--such a thoughtful touch! The staff are always friendly, and the owners are literally always there working hard to keep everything running smoothly. It can get a little loud at times, but that just shows it's a place people genuinely enjoy. Whether you're grabbing coffee on the go, catching up with friends, or getting some work done, it has a great atmosphere. There's plenty of foot traffic, but there are also little corners where you can throw on some noise-canceling headphones and zone out. Another Five Star review on Hom Coffee after a few weeks trying this place and my last review. This place really deserve a five star reviewing due to customer service, nice place, and how much people come together to have a good time. Yes it can be hard to find parking near the place but it is worth the walk to come inside Hom Coffee. I do suggest parking on the street but try not to park on the red or green zone because Hercules Police do tend to come around the block. I been coming to Hom Coffee to escape sleeping in and also to find a place to relax during my days off from work. I tend to review places I go to on Yelp and Hom Coffee is a place that I check in a lot. I want Hom Coffee to be a success in Hercules where Yelp Events and Coffee Meet and Greet occur here. Went here today on 6/19 around 10:20am. We got here and it was two people working the guy and the girl. We were standing there for a good time and they saw us but chose not to even greet us. I know they were just making drinks, BUT in any customer service industry, they could have said something along the lines of "hi. We will be with you shortly." Nothing like that. It was awkward just standing there while they walked by and were with in eye view. I think they need to be trained on having better customer service. This is what could make or break a return back to this place. When he did finally come up to take our order he said sorry for the wait, but we had already formed our opinion based on the 10min waiting. I wouldn't have minded the wait had we been acknowledged. He could have said something to us while they were making someone's coffee and matcha. I got the strawberry matcha with oat milk. Hubby got a cold brew with oat milk. When it was hubby's time to order he asked if they had oat milk. The guy snickered because I'm sure he didn't want to say anything smart. The reason for that is because I feel that in his head he was thinking "your wife asked for oat milk in hers. Did you not hear?" Because what would the reason be for doing that? Granted when I heard the hubby ask that, in my head I was like hello I did ask for that too. Lol but this isn't about him. It's about the attitude and lack of professionalism these two had. The music just got turned on which it was not earlier which made it more awkward. To be fair, the matcha was good thank goodness. The sourdough muffin was great as well which makes up for the crappy service. I would like to say we will be back, but after today not sure. We just met the owner and he's super nice. I heard a lot about HOM cafe and after seeing it get really popular, I wanted to see the hype for myself. I came in over the weekend and it was fairly busy. There's a lot of seating space for solos or even groups. They have a high ceiling and so much natural light, it's definitely a vibe in there! They only had 2 baristas working, so it was a little slow with taking orders and getting drinks out. But it was weird because the drinks felt rushed and weren't what I was expecting. I ordered a Calamansi Tonic, Sunrise Refresher, an iced matcha latte and an iced vanilla latte. The calamansi tonic tasted pretty bitter, I was expecting it to be somewhat bitter, but have more flavor of calamansi. Kind of like drinking coffee with an orange peel, but it was only sour and bitter. The Sunrise Refresher was probably the best thing I tried. You could taste more mango than calamansi. The strawberry cold foam was a bit sour, it didn't taste fresh, but more so that the strawberries were dried and dehydrated. Otherwise, the drink was extremely refreshing for a hot day! The matcha latte was good, just a normal iced vanilla matcha. Nothing too special about it, nothing stood out. The last drink I tried was an iced vanilla coffee with almond milk, and it was disappointing. The coffee tasted burnt for some odd reason and there was no sweetness to it with the extra pumps of vanilla syrup. It is something I wouldn't try again. Overall, the vibes are nice for HOM, they have good energy. I think they might just need time to further perfect their craft and maybe hire 1 more barista for the busier shifts. read more

Incredible, where do i even start. Went here for the first time even though i live 3 mins away from them. Incredible service, and the owner was the sweetest gentleman there. It sure makes a difference when you see the owner's involvement and he was attentive to every person walked there. I mentioned that it was my birthday and he made it special , i am beyond grateful . 2 stars bc service was quick and workers were really nice... but unfortunately their matcha just wasn't it. They use flavored sweeteners such as vanilla, strawberry, etc but syrup sometimes overpowers matcha and makes it too sweet instead... I had high hopes bc the color was good but I tasted no matcha flavor and mainly just syrup. And for $9 too it was pretty disappointing. Hopefully their coffee is better and maybe in the future they'll add agave as a sweetener instead. read more

Pleasantly surprised at how nice, clean, and modern this cafe is - Loved it!!! The cappucino was $6 for 8 oz - small, but it was a legit cappucino so I didn't mind. Had no idea this place hadn't had their grand opening yet! I needed a place to do some work before visiting my parents in Vallejo and found Hōm on Yelp. Loved the vibe! Chic aesthetics, loved the music playlist that day, great coffee. I had a cortado. I love a nice strong double shot. Service was quick, I visited around 230pm on a Thursday. Picked up around 4pm.
