There's a new coffee shop in Hercules. It's located at the Bay Front that's part of The Exchange. It's HOM Coffee. HOM Coffee has a great vibe and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Christie is amazing. There's plenty of seating inside and they have a few tables outside. The coffee is very good and the quality of the products shows. I ordered the cortado and my wife ordered the ube latte and they were delicious. The price is just right and not overpriced unlike Blue Bottle, Ritual, or Verve. We also ordered the sourdough muffins & they were okay. Nothing to write home about. However, there are other fresh baked pastries that are on display that my wife and I will try on our next visit. If you're in the Bay Front neighborhood or want great coffee, I highly recommend HOM Coffee. It has an upbeat atmosphere, awesome staff, great coffee, and a selection of fresh pastries from a local bakery. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

Tried the strawberry matcha and it was delicious! Not too sweet and super refreshing. They also carry desserts from Ube Area, and we had the ube tres leches so delish! The staff were friendly and the vibe was cozy and relaxing. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to! read more

She is always so helpful when I come in, as someone who isn't as savy with coffee she always provides recommendations and is helpful! So excited HŌM Coffee is now open and right next to my favorite açaí bowl joint! Arrived on a Friday afternoon with little to no line. This is a perfect spot to catch up with an old friend or even do some work away from home as they provide wifi for guests. The ordering process was straight forward and the baristas were very friendly and welcoming. I love how they offer different syrups as well as alternative milk options. I ordered a small iced matcha latte alongside a slice of chocolate cake and the total came out to $16. Price is a little steep for the size but you honestly pay for quality more than quantity. And before you ask, yes they whisk their own matcha.. it's none of that weird pre-mixed matcha stuff lol. The latte itself was the perfect amount of sweet without being too overbearing, perfect for those who like a more mellow matcha taste. Coffee is good but it consistently takes SO long to get your drinks. Today on a Sunday morning there was one girl doing both the drinks and register. It's not her fault but quite a few of us were waiting very long. The drinks are more on the expensive side which doesn't seem worth it when it takes over 30 minutes to get your drink. read more

The place is so aesthetic with an edgy but cozy vibe. I was planning to hang out inside, but found out they don't allow dogs, which I totally understood. While I was looking in from outside, the owner came out and offered to watch my dog while I went in to order. When I came back, he even brought my drinks out and surprised me with a couple of baked goods on the house-- the ube brownie and ube cookie were both so good! I got the banana matcha, which I really enjoyed, and grabbed a latte for my grandma. She loved it too. Great drinks, but the customer service was what really stood out. I couldn't wait for this coffee place to open! So glad they are now serving the Bayfront neighborhood. A very nice place and inside you can feel the warm and pleasant greeting by the staff. The owner was there as well with a smile and talking to customers. I love small coffee places. They are unique. My husband bought cold brew, strong but tasty! We bought morning buns and cinnamon rolls to take home. They were pretty good. I will try other pastries next time. The prices here are very affordable! We will be back for sure! I just got back into town a week ago and I have been in this cafe everyday. The reviews from others are harsh. Not to say that their experience wasn't real, however what is most impressive to me is when reading the negative reviews, and then experiencing the cafe myself I've noticed that they have fixed each issue someone has complained about. I was reading the comment of no half n half and I personally took note to them now stocking half n half. Either they are paying attention to the reviews, or it's pure coincidence. Either way I have nothing bad. I'm sure they will but I hope they include more drink option as far matcha and lattes like including a caramel macchiato. But all that will come in time. We're thankful to have a home cafe in Hercules that is amazing. Also, I love the no tip culture: this drives me to come back more. It shows confidence in employees and in overall success. read more

The atmosphere and the pastries are solid. The coffee isn't for the seasoned coffee drinkers. A light-to-med roast is used for drip and espresso. The taste isn't you'd expect from a bay area coffee house. I did ask if they planned on offering dark roasted coffee and unfortunately the answer was no. Extremely disappointed in our experience. I've had my eyes on this place for a long time now, since before their grand opening. I followed them on social media and any updates locally about them, and was truly excited to visit once they opened. I told family, friends and colleagues about a "new coffee spot" where I live, where the drink offerings and pastries look fantastic, and that we HAD to go there once open. Well, without planning it, my mom and I decided to stop by the other day. I was SUPER excited, trying to figure out what I'd try first and also planning to have a great time over great drinks and breakfast, catching up with my mom for the week. We walked in, it was semi-full, with an only few seat options open, including the sofa. We decided we'd sit there. We got in line, there were 2-3 staff behind the counter, 1 person in front of us who already ordered. We looked at the menu, looked at the pastries behind the glass, talked amongst ourselves, and about 5-6 mins goes by, no one made eye contact with us, or greeted us. Okay no biggie, maybe they're busy? A little off putting but still we waited. I saw a tall man come from behind the counter, and from following everything about this place, I believe it to be one of the owners/husband. Because I was trying to figure that out, I was staring at him for a second. He looked back and locked eyes with me - I was prepared to give a huge smile, a big hello, and maybe even a tidbit about how excited we were to be there and try them out, and welcome to the neighborhood! Well, he looked at me, mugged me with a side eye and kept on walking. He came out from behind the counter and kept on about his business. That threw me off, I was like dang! Okay... but what was worse is he immediately spoke to someone else behind us. That turned me off. I looked at my mom and I could visibly see she was feeling a little unwelcome too by the expression on her face. I asked her did she want to try another coffee shop and she immediately said yes. We just quietly left. Big disappointment for me. Definitely didn't go as I expected! May not be others experience, but it was ours and it sucks. Ah well. read more

Fantastic service and great drinks. I ordered an ice latte with banana cold foam 16oz. It was a great balance, not too milky (because they use 4shots, which is great!) and not too sweet. You can still taste the coffee. Speaking of coffee, they use SEY coffee! I see a lot of people complaining about the price point, but once you understand the quality of the beans and syrups you may start to understand. SEY coffee is a world renowned roastery, pretty sure they are globally ranked. As far as I know the only people in the east bay using them. So be grateful you get to experience something great. Overall it was a great experience, if you enjoy the taste and quality of coffee, come and try, but if you want diabetes in a cup like Dutch or Starbucks go there lmao. Will be back read more

Hom offers the best tasting Ube cold foam I've ever had on my matcha and coffee, it's the real deal, excellent! Very spacious and comfortable decor. Delicious desserts and savory pastries. Stan is the man at this newly opened coffee house! We were welcomed warmly with helpful and patient attitudes as we had many questions. Stan came over to our table requesting if we wanted to sample the apple strudel cheesecake. Of course we said yes!
