Don't let its unassuming appearance fool you, Homage Brewing is one of the hidden gems in downtown Pomona. Been here on several locations and had a blast every single time. It's a smaller place and brew menu isn't as big as some other breweries but the beers that they do have are beautifully executed. The bartenders here are pretty chill people. They're always willing to steer you in the right direction if you need suggestions on a pour or just have a chat. Because it is a smaller and more cozy venue, it's a great place to take a date. However, it can get pretty crowded on Saturday nights. Another bonus is that they're pretty liberal with their growler fill policy. They will pretty much fill any growler you could bring them. They're not about the politics (some breweries only fill their own growlers, others only fill glass...etc). While in the area, we stopped by Homage to grab a few beers. In terms of beer, their Hazy IPAs were fairly solid, both the DIPA and Single IPA. The wife wanted to try an flight including their sours but unfortunately they don't offer the sours in a flight but they did offer us splashes of them to try. The atmosphere when we came was kind of dim as they go for very low lighting, especially the further back you sit. Otherwise, Homage is a fairly solid brewery in the heart of Downtown. read more

I've been to this place a few times in the last year or so, just because I couldn't really find the right hours. I had the opportunity to stop in today, and I was blown away! I enjoyed a full pour of the Nosedive, a 6.8% hazy IPA hopped up on Simcoe, Mosaic and Nelson. Full and bright mouth-feel, juice burst, balanced with some bitter. Perfect golden haze. I also tasted the Petit Masumoto, a 6% BA saison conditioned on spent peaches. This was quite wild and fresh, yet also very balanced with a subtle, dry peach finish reminiscent of a warm evening in the golden California foothills. read more

Stopped in on a Wednesday after work, around 4-ish. Super chill vibe and solid decor too! I ended up getting (two) 8 oz pours of the "Four Corners" and "We've Been Had". Nice, smooth, hazy, and was freaking DELICIOUS! Tastes VERY similar to the beers at Monkish (IMO). Homage Brewing is a small nano brewery that opened up 5/21/2016 in the Pomona Arts District (Downtown Pomona, CA). Being into local craft beer, I've had my eye on the progress of this brewery for about 6 months and on opening day, I was one of the first in the door. With so many breweries opening (or about to open) in the Inland Empire, many are lackluster at best and with the exception of Sanctum (also in Pomona), I don't find myself rushing to go back to visit them Homage changed the game! This is one new IE brewery that did not disappoint me and I am glad it's located in Pomona where it's close to home. On opening day, they had 6 varieties of the beer available; Discovery: Golden Strong Ale Reckoner: 100% Brett IPA Unknown Pleasures: Stout Style Prototype: Belgian Style Pale Ale Cuvee D'Ennui: Barrel Aged Sour Ale w/Strawberries Killing Moon: Mixed Fermentation Old World Saison w/Apricots Of the 6 beers available, only the Unknown Pleasures did not "WOW" me. The winner on opening day for me was the Cuvee D'Ennui! This sour beer was phenomenal. This was probably one of the best sour beers I've had to date. The strawberries really shined with this batch of beer and it did not pucker you up. Sour beers are not for everyone, but I tell people this was the perfect sour beer to have if you don't "like" sours or starting to get into sours for the first time. This beer was so good that they ran out before they closed on opening day. My second favorite of the day was the Reckoner which is an exceptional Brett IPA, one of the best I've had in this style too. Discovery, Prototype, and Killing Moon were all excellent beers too! Since opening day, I've been back several times for pours of the Reckoner and Discovery. Killing Moon ran out on the second day of business! Although the beer batches are tapping out in days, the good news is Homage is brewing and other beers will be added to list! Fast tapped out batches means pours are always freshly made and most likely what you ask for here will be something fresh (not like some IE breweries who have some taps with seasonal beers that should have been replaced a long time ago). When there most recently, I noticed they had food menus from the Rookery which is around the corner from them. Apparently; if you get hungry, you can order food from the Rookery and the Rookery will walk it over to you. This is a nice touch because many breweries in the IE don't have food or food trucks often. The Rookery itself is great place too and a spot I frequent often. Also, aside from their beers, I do like the style and image Homage is trying to convey. Think upscale-classy with beer presented by a non-pretentious staff. Homage has definitely raised the bar when it comes to breweries in the Inland Empire; especially on the West End, between the 71 and 15 freeways. I never thought I'd be hanging out in Pomona when I relocated to the Inland Empire, but Pomona (specifically Downtown) is just doing right. I still love my "spots" in the OC and LA, but it really nice to have great beer so close to home! I will definitely be a "regular" at Homage Brewing! Cheers! read more

Classy microbrewery in downtown Pomona Arts District. It's a couple doors down from the Glass House. I must admit I've tried every beer here and loved them all! But my favorite is their IPA, The Reckoner. If you get hungry, Homage has a delivery service with The Rookery microbrewery and restaurant, located down the street for excellent food that includes appetizers, burgers, streaks, salads, sandwiches and confections. Just ask for Matt and Kyle behind the bar to get their personalized customer service. They are experts that will guide you through the various beers on tap. This excellent microbrewery concept is well put together by Matt Garcia, one of the owner's who's past experience as general manager of a well known microbrewery and restaurant in Pasadena is reflected throughout the establishment. I came here on a week night with two of my close friends and had an overall positive experience. Positives: The beer was good which is kind of important for a brewery lol. I don't remember what the name of the one I had was, but it was definitely interesting. It was lighter, sour and just good in general. The place also seems really clean. They have board games to play. The staff is really friendly and helpful when it comes to questions. They have water that you can get for yourself out in the open in case you're a lightweight or like to keep hydrated. I went on a Thursday night I believe and it was pretty calm. Maybe 7 other people there. Parking was not a problem. Negatives: Their selection was kind of limited. It sounds like their menu changes a lot. And this might actually be a good thing that they actually run out of certain beers sometimes because it tells you they are making fresh batches and it's probably not sitting around a whole lot. Overall, this place is really cool and there's not a whole lot you can say bad about it. I think they're deserving of 5/5 stars because they meet pretty much all of the requirements of a good brewery. I definitely need to go back soon. read more

It's a nice brewery chill vibes with vinyls playing and outdoor seating. However, the beer has been served warm the two times I've been. The glasses weren't even chilled (like most breweries) which probably would've helped tbh. Found out about this place recently, and came last week. It's in a nice little area, with some restaurants nearby. Décor is simple and minimal. White with plants, which is nice to have around. They have about 5 beers on tap, I had a flight of 4 of them. If you like beers with Bretts or wild ales, this is the place to go. When I went they had chocolate chip cookies and lemon bars to munch on. Following their instagram, I see some days they have fresh made banana bread. He is an extremely humble guy. Super approachable and he even had a drink with us! Each drink is so unique with their cool names! This spot is a little small, but it's super homey. My friend and I were attending a show at the Glasshouse. We were excited there was a brewery we could check out before the show just around the corner. Don't waste your time here. Not only were the bathrooms dirty the beers were horrible and the staff was rude and couldn't answer simple questions about what kind of beer they had. I asked what kind of IPAs they had. He said they only had 1. I asked if it was hazy and what style it was since I was liking for a west coast style. He couldn't answer and just repeated the name of the beer to me. I asked 3 times and kept getting the same answer. My friend asked for something on the sweeter side. He suggested a sour of some sort (which wasn't sweet at all). We agreed on the sour and the IPA. He was annoyed he had to change the o2 tank when filling our drinks. My beer had so much head on it and it wasn't very cold but we sat outside in a makeshift patio with odd artwork of 3 eyed cats and tried to enjoy our drinks. We both took a drink and then tried the others. They were both awful! We went back inside sat the nearly fully glasses on the counter and left. I will not be back. read more

Since Homage is located in the heart of Downtown Pomona (near The Glass House and Fox Theater) and not too far of a drive from my stomping grounds at Cal Poly Pomona, I had been meaning to check out this brewery for quite some time. My friend and I decided to stop by on a weekday afternoon, so there was plenty of parking/seating and was immediately greeted by the beer-tender on duty. I decided to go with their New Ways IPA, and I liked it so much that I ordered a second one and didn't even bother to look at the menu again. However, I recently started following their Instagram, and I for sure want to go back and try some more of their hazy IPAs and sours they keep posting about. My friend tried their Milk Lizard, which is a coffee milk stout that is perfect for all you coffee-lovers out there. I'm not much of a stout drinker (they get me way too full), but it actually tasted pretty light and was smooth and creamy. Yum. read more

We were in the area and stopped in to have a flight. I see a lot of complaints about the service. It's not that the service was bad during our visit, but it kinda lacked energy a bit. In fact, my whole experience lacked energy. The music was low key and there was a couple sitting next to us that was a little too up close and personal for my taste. I'm not a hag or anything, but I definitely don't want to hear some guy sucking on his girlfriend's body. The beers were good. My favorite was the Kool Thing Double IPA. It was pretty balanced to be a double, but it seems like this is a beer that's on the easy side but you have to be careful that you don't pound it because it's a double. There are board games and stuff. No food, so you'll have to bring your own. read more

I always feel fancy coming here...like I'm in some swanky Palm Springs bar sipping on brews...it's really chill in here and the playlist is always relaxing...it's located next to a Vietnamese restaurant and walking distance from the fox...plenty of free parking if you look for it. The staff is attentive and will answer any questions you have about the beers, the place has a decent amount of seating, it's definitely not your typical warehouse brewery. I tried a flight that included Belgium style beers, IPA's, and a damn good stout. I enjoyed all of them but the standout for myself was the stout...so much that I bought a pint and took a crowler home since I didn't have a growler on hand...and yes they do fill growers from other breweries. I absolutely love this brewery. The decor, vibe, friendliness of the staff, and quality of their beer is exactly what I am looking for when visiting a craft/independent brewery. The sours are always amazing when they are on tap or when I can snag a bottle at one of their sales. Should be interesting in the near future as their barrel program matures. Their hop game has improved significantly from when they originally opened. It has definitely been a treat trying most of their offerings to see how they've evolved over time.
