What was supposed to be a "free quote" turned into a pushy, uncomfortable situation the second I didn't agree to buy on the spot. His name is BRIAN. Their van is still parked in front of my house. I left work early to try and accommodate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Got a text that told me someone was on the way at 5pm, they did not arrive until 6:21pm, I'm heavily pregnant and was waiting in the hot part of the house for the tech this entire time to ensure we wouldn't miss them, as my husband also raced home at this time, to be there. Morgan arrived and we showed him all of the duct work, the unit outside, and asked him to write up a quote for us to review. When it became apparent to Morgan that we would not be making a decision on the spot, he became angry and said he can come back at another time, mind you still no quote provided. When we just asked for the numbers he got even angrier and called my husband a fa*got and stormed off. Zero Stars was not an option!! Home Comfort installed a Lennox AC system in my home in July 30, 2024. We were told we would receive a $2,500 Rebate for purchasing a new AC system. As of July 8, 2026, we have not received our promised Rebate. Our new system failed approximately three separate Hers Test. Our system was failing the Hers Test, due to air leaks in the installation cabinet area. After numerous repairs in the installation closets, our AC system finally passed the Hers Test on April 1, 2026( yes, approximately twenty -one months later). The permit for the AC had expired, so they had to request an extension. The City inspector passed AC permit on July 1, 2026, nearly two years later. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lastly, I have reached out to Craig Williams and Michael Selvaggio, regarding our Rebate and they refused to respond to my texts and calls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm truly disappointed in their customer service and workmanship. I first heard about this business from The Home Depot, so I scheduled a service call in March (and then later in April 2024) and "Eric" from Home Comfort USA came out to look at my heating system. He did a great job. He looked at the system, took photos and explained everything thoroughly. I will be calling them again to service my air conditioning system. I would recommend this business for servicing and maintaining your heating and air conditioning systems. Fast forward a little over 2 years later. If you suspect Home Comfort USA of being overpriced, shady, inconsistent and dishonest, trust your instincts and call The Home Depot's Customer Care line at 888-523-4822 and follow the automated line prompts to submit your complaint about Home Comfort USA. The service described above was initially good, but the more I used them, the more inconsistent and overpriced they became. They use a sales representative supervisor to sell you more services, a membership and other things that you may not want or need. In my experience, they were overpriced and dishonest. You can also call another Home Depot line at 877-467-3409 option 4 and then 3 to speak to a representative who can take your complaint. Your best bet when it comes to finding an HVAC provider is to contact the manufacturer of the product (heater, AC unit) and have that manufacturer refer you to their authorized dealers for purchase, installation, service and repair. I contacted The Home Depot and I strongly recommended that they stop doing business with Home Comfort USA and that they drop them as a trusted HVAC dealer. I am not writing this post to deliberately trash Home Comfort USA. I am doing this to tell everyone reading this that the best company to contact is the one that the manufacturer of the product recommends to you for proper and reasonable service; because it is NOT Home Comfort USA. Overcharged and Misled -- Regret Approving the Work (Invoice Attached) I recently had Home Comfort USA out to repair my AC and approved the work during the visit -- but only afterward did I realize how severely overpriced it was. They charged $609 for a basic capacitor replacement, labeled as an "Outdoor High Voltage Absorption System" (see invoice). This is a vague, technical-sounding name for a part that normally costs $10-$40, and is typically installed for $150-$300 total with labor. They also charged $269 for a MERV 16 filter (retails for under $90), plus $130 for the diagnostic, bringing the total to over $1,000 for a single visit. Yes, I approved the work -- but I trusted them based on the fact that I bought a $12,000 system from them less than three years ago. This was my first service call. After asking for clarification, I was told my concern was being forwarded to their financial department -- and it's now been over a week with no response. Invoice screenshot included for transparency. I highly recommend you get itemized pricing in writing before approving anything. They offered $29.99 for an inspection of my a/c condenser and since I was fully aware I was on the cusp of needing a new unit, I agreed. I had problems with rats in my attic and hired this company to do exclusion work and replace the insulation. They said they did the exclusion work but never did. After replacing the insulation there were still rats and they had to come back 3 times to exclude the attic by adding wire mesh and foam. (You're suppose to do exclusion work, wait for rat activity to stop then fill it with insulation). A few years pass and rats are back, I check for any holes and there were super obvious ones leading down the walls. In addition, they placed blown insulation, and later found out by other attic installers that they didn't even put in the right thickness. I paid 5k for this and it has to be redone. read more

Scam Warning: Home Comfort USA Sent by Home Depot Cypress Home Depot referred me to Home Comfort USA for a simple AC tune-up, and it turned into a complete scam attempt. The technician, Noah, put on a hazmat suit, claimed he found asbestos in my attic, showed me photos that weren't even of my house, and tried to scare me into believing I needed costly asbestos removal. He even asked if my smart thermostat was "recording him" and admitted he could be in trouble for being there without landlord permission. My landlord sent another licensed HVAC company inspected right after and found no asbestos, no duct damage, and no issues at all -- and it looked like Noah had even poked a hole in my insulation himself. Luckily, I didn't pay the company. This was nothing but fear tactics and false claims. I expected better from Home Depot than to partner with a company like this. Stay away from Home Comfort USA! I've already filed a scam complaint with the better business bureau, there are many complaints on there. Make sure you do your homework! From our experience, which roughly lasted four months, we paid 33k to get a new HVAC system (was improperly installed and didn't work for about four months until we paid another company to come fix it because HC USA couldn't figure it out...) it turned out they (as they have admitted) didn't follow the rheem instruction manual when putting in our very expensive HVAC. Not to mention the Whole House fan didn't work and was improperly installed, that took a total of three different visits from three different people to figure out. Even though they were more expensive than other quotes - they offered a price lock guarantee. In the past, offers like these have resulted in good work, so I went ahead and paid $5k more for our new HVAC than any other quote I received to ensure anything that went wrong would be addressed. Well, that was a huge mistake. The HVAC replacement occurred in 2022. Here we are in 2025 and I've never gotten a single free maintenance inspection as promised. That's not what prompted me to write an actual review. Here's the real issue - We decided to remodel the downstairs, which is where the HVAC is located. The men who came in and performed the replacement left the walls torn up and it has taken us this long to hire someone to do something about it. When they performed the work, they told us they found Asbestos. Well, since the price covered all things they might run into, I assumed they handled this like they said they would. THEY DID NOT. I have been working in the office attached to the closet they ripped apart and it's got ASBESTOS in it?? Non remediated, just floating around in my ACTIVE BUSINESS SPACE. Yeah, I work from home. No wonder I suddenly need a daily inhaler. So now I get to pay an arm and a leg to have the issue actually fixed when they sold me on this FALSE promise that I was paying more to avoid such things. Not only did I pay more for the HVAC, I am also now paying for the repairs and expansion of the closet the HVAC was in because it wasn't large enough and, again, this should've been addressed by the PROFESSIONALS I HIRED, but they were so focused on keeping that profit margin as wide as possible that they failed to DO THE JOB THEY WERE HIRED FOR. And don't even get me started on the lender. If I EVER find out the loan I am applying for will go through Service Financial again I'm going to back out IMMEDIATELY. My 5.99% interest rate was actually 7.99% along with a per diem charge in addition to that fun little increase. There's a 2 week window in which you can schedule and make payments - so you can't schedule it in advance or the funds don't apply to the next payment. This has resulted in a few $9.99 late fees because I tried to schedule it early and didn't realize the payment wasn't going to apply to the actual payment due. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The first time it happened I reached out to customer service - they literally told me they don't ever refund those fees and I need to pay closer attention to when my bills are due.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We've gone ahead and gotten a HELOC, paid off that loan and are consulting with an ACTUAL professional on what to do with the HVAC. It releases a weird smell and it has randomly turned off a few times, requiring restart. The wi-fi connected controls drop off the wi-fi every single time we connect it, so we don't even bother with that anymore. Don't even think you're going to get quality out of this con-pany. Valuable lessons learned and Drs appts booked for all 6 of the people living in the home potentially affected by this, well basically criminally negligent behavior. read more

The service guy quoted us $2000 to repair what was wrong, and said that he was going to see if he could get us a discount. He never called back. We called multiple times and it will ring once and hang up.
