Unfortunately I had to give them one star which I would have preferred not to. I have been looking around this store like a child in a candy shop for months, in fact I have told people about it... All the great used furniture and goodies for discount consignment rates. I finally was ready to buy a light I had been eyeing for a week. The gal said these words EXACTLY to me "Lights like this can go for over $1500 its a great deal" Which definitely made me even more eager to "score" this item that was listed at $299. SO I did. I had my electrician come in and install it and he said "This is a great CB2 Fixture..." So I decided to look up the value (remembering that $1500 number she said...) However, that excitement quickly turned into the awful feeling of being completely CON'd. Brand new, from the maker was $199 for this exact fixture! My jaw dropped... How can a consignment store not know this, assuming it was an error and they would rectify the problem no problem... I called and left a message about the oversight and simply asked if I can get a refund of the difference but still eventually paying full price as thought I had bought it brand new. I got a call back and a message left stating: "Sorry, we DO NOT price match, glad you like it, enjoy..." Ummm ok.. Then how about I just return it because why would I or should I pay $100 MORE for a dusty used fixture that was missing screws when I can buy it BRAND new for less?? They have refused a refund of the difference. Refused a return, and refused an exchange. What an awful way to run a shop, be VERY careful about their prices and what they say the value is. Its not what it seems, and they do not work with customers as they should, this should have been a simple fix. This review is for the jewelry store in Home Consignment Center and not the furniture division!! The women who rund the jewelry department(Julie) is nice but pushy! - She will sell you something that she swears is authentic BUT is NOT!!! - Louis Vuitton purse was purchased and it needed a polish. The bag was just a few years old - I took the bag to LV at which time they told me that it was not a bag in which they could work on because it was not an LV. I took the bag back at which time she talked up and down that it was real! - I also purchased a well know bracelet from her (I should have know better) - white gold, box and papers - turns out the papers don't match the serial number on the pc. she is refusing to address the matter, help obtain the proper papers. I'm finally done purchasing anything else from her - keep in mind I have spent apx.$13,000.00 - This is not how your work with good customers - I will be calling the corporate office to address as well read more

My brother passed away last fall and I was appointed the administrator of his estate. Because of Covid and the fact that I live in Michigan, I was having to handle everything remotely. I was referred to Melissa by a mutual friend. I phoned Melissa and she met our friend within a couple days at my brother's condo and appraised the items to sell. She provided contact information for the company she uses for pickup, and the items were picked up promptly. Everything was handled smoothly and professionally. Melissa was able to sell almost every item, and handled the donation of items left (per my request), obtaining a donation receipt for the estate tax return. It has been terribly difficult losing my brother and having to handle things from so far away. I am so grateful that Home Consignment Center made an ominous task so easy for us. read more

My Girlfriend purchased a painting from this business, WITH A VALID CREDIT CARD and ID, took the receipt and left. 5 min later, police arrested my girlfriend for being an "accomplice" in a painting robbery, at this business. Apparently, a man stole a $399 painting from this business but the owner called the cops and stated my girlfriend was an "accomplice," even though she had just purchased a painting with a valid credit card and ID. My girlfriend spent 3 days in jail, let go, ALL CHARGES WERE DROPPED. She went through hell and back, due to this business owner's poor judgement. So pleased to have found HCC! We were in the process of selling our home and moving. We had lovely furniture and décor, we hated to give it away at nothing prices on Craigs List. Nearly all of our items sold, and the two items that didn't, HCC donated and a receipt was sent to us. An added bonus, while making multiple trips to consign more items, I found the perfect nightstands and a gorgeous diamond necklace. I Love HCC, their staff and the variety of items they have. I am surprised to read the numerous bad reviews as my experience was great. They are picky about what they will consign. They want items they believe will sell, so don't be offended if they choose to not consign with you. You can't please everyone, but HCC you certainly pleased me! : ) read more

took my things in here in a rush and left it with my daugher to manage, they took complete advantage of her. the manager has no clue as to how to price home goods and I think and agree from what I have read they don't give a hoot about your items or your profit, they only base their profits on average sales. read bad reviews of the entire outfit and the owner's husband is lawyer so you don't have a leg to stand on. reporting them to BBB and government authorities. the people are ruthless scams. wish I went to the one in Westlake Village on Via Colinas. at least they know what they are doing and are honest. stupid rotten people is who these people are. be careful they have stores throughout california. they will screw you royally read more

I went it to the Calabasas store on April 1st looking for different pieces of furniture to decorate my home. I was thinking that I would be needing to buy different pieces at different times from different stores and I was agonizing how I would have them all complement each other. I hit the jackpot when Donna Ciccarelli was on the floor that day. She helped coordinate almost all the pieces in less than an hour. I walked about great pieces of complementing furniture in one visit. Didn't need to go back and forth, visiting different stores, wondering if the pieces would match. Donna is a professional. I recently purchased a cool circular couch and a giant leather bound frame leaner mirror, super slick, you can't find stuff like this just anywhere, and for such a good price. Nothing stays the same from week to week which is great for my family each time we go in to check out what's new. We went to this consignment store hoping to find a small french sofa. We ended buying our whole living room. We found everything we wanted and more for a fraction of price. The designer there was so helpful. Every piece we wanted she would get the guys to move and put them together so we can feel the combination. It was a great shopping experience.
