As someone who has been in several different home consignment stores in the Southern CA area, this is the best one I've been to. It's a little bit smaller than some of the other ones I've been to, but the customer service is lightyears better than anywhere else. They're willing to compromise on prices, and they're very attentive to your questions. Although I live in Los Angeles, they are shipping the pieces I selected for only $75--that's an excellent deal, seeing as though Wertz Brothers furniture wanted to charge the same price...and I live TEN MINUTES away from their store (I'll write another review for Wertz, but in case you don't want to have to read it: don't EVER go to their store.) It's in a great location, with several nice shops and restaurants around (you know, just in case you have someone with you who isn't as patient furniture shopping as you are). I will most definitely make the drive back out to this location to buy some more furniture pieces. Absolutely love it! read more

I heard about this place from a friend and she was looking to consign some things quickly. Couldn't make it happen but I did see a couch from a Culver City store . Bought it for asking price and one of their sales people visited my home and after inspection quickly said they'd take my couch and chair. I eventually get a call after their record my couch and said they couldn't sell it it looked too used. ( their sales person who visited and inspected it thought it was fine. ) they would donate it for me. Hmmm Couldn't do anything. I have made purchases here and have had good experiences. 5 stars for that. I had items to sell and was told to go through their website. I tried emailing info to see if they would accept the items ( like new sofa, chair, blanket chest) never got a response. Tried again a couple days later, no response. Zero stars for that. I stumbled upon Hone Consignment Center during an extremely delicate time in my life. All of my furnishings and accessories were from high end stores/antique dealers like Kreiss, Glabman's, and Neiman's, etc. During my in home evaluation, all of my items were highly complimented and marveled at by the store representative. What was ironic, she started low balling my pieces during my assessment. Let's be clear, I comprehended the fact that I was not going to receive face value for my furnishings and accessories, but at least list the pieces appropriately, so that I'm not feeling like I was giving everything away. Bottom line, I was taken advantage of based on my immediate need to move, and therefore I was given a take it or leave it option, for they knew leaving it wasn't going to happen. All of my items were marked below a reasonable price and the larger pieces like armoires were donated by the store. Needless to say I was not, and still not thrilled about basically giving my life of 25 years away. Had I not been in dire straights at the time, I would have had the Los Angeles Mission haul everything away without regrets.. Word of advice, never tell anyone your story for they will profit at your loss. read more

The absolute worst AND RUDE, UNHELPFUL STAFF. Do Not Go Here. . Bad service. I have NEVER been treated so disrespectively as I did here. I found a coffee table with a granite top here; I had them hold it while I went a home to measure. I called back and purchased it over the phone so never saw the sales receipt which said NO RETURS AT ALL. When I went to pick it up it was too heavy and was told the cost to deliver it was $117.00 to go 1 mile to my home. I said no I'd just get a refund and was refused; she said she would help me get someone to deliver it at $117 and that I should have read the fine print (I bought it over the phone and never saw the "Fine Print". Needless to say, they fought with me and were very rude My son and I got it into the flatbed and home where we got it out of the car and into the home. I will NEVER EVER GO BACK. Great consignment store for buying and selling! We remodeled our house and had some furniture that we were replacing. I worked with Melissa who came to our home to work through the pricing and details. She made it super easy and was very professional. They sold everything at a fair price-payment and follow through was quick and better than I had expected. Would definitely use them again. My wife and I recently were decorating our hoe and were getting new furniture and also doing a home purge. Some where in the middle of the project we thinking what do we do with all our STUFF we did not want to throw it away, eBay to big a hassle, donating to a charity most of the it Items were expensive and in perfect condition so I got on line and came across the Home Consignment Center I called and was told to take some pictures and someone would get back to me. I took the pictures and emailed them over, within a half hour the manager Melissa called me and she wanted to come over to my home and check out our STUFF. Melissa arrived and after reviewing everything she said that she would put it on sale in the store and then she said to bring everything furniture, art, nick-necks etc. She asked if we needed a moving service that she could arrange or I could get it all over to the store. Melissa had everything itemized with pricing. She said after 30 days she would call tell us what was left and to reduce price for the next 2 weeks after that they would donate the reaming items or could pick them up. This was an easy way to downsize. They sent someone out to assess the pieces of furniture I wanted to sell. Some movers came a week later to collect the furniture. The rate for the movers was very reasonable and they did a great job. Then, I received payments as the furniture sold. Everyone was very friendly and I didn't have to spend time placing ads, answering phone calls or having strangers come to look at the furniture in my home. Would do this again! read more

We brought a number of items we no longer needed, one of which was a set of sterling silver flatware. Rather than just putting this item on the floor for sale, they called and told us that after looking at the silverware, we could probably get more money from other resources and told us who to call. My kids go to a school close to the Home Consignment Center. So I probably stop in once a week and have found some incredible deals. I love to find one of a kind , unique pieces along with the everyday items to furnish my home with. What i love most besides the prices and selection is the amazing help i receive from everyone in the store. I get design help when i don't know which direction to go in, The employees there are outgoing and always willing to help guide you with your individual design styles. And another thing i love is that you can try a product for 24 hours in your home before you have to actually buy it.... what a great benefit to be able to test drive it first and return it if it just doesn't look right in your home..... I won't buy anything anywhere else.... I only wish i knew of this store sooner.... All my friends and family and neighbors go there now as well. read more

Terrible people, terrible ethics and full on crooks. If you want to support this then buy from them. Had a truck full of items sent to them, paid for delivery as well. The delivery guy took things that we weren't even selling literally from my front door decorations so had to deal with that. Had a death in the family and had to sell some stuff but they were precious items worth tons of money. Hundreds of beautiful silk flower arrangements in the most exquisite vases (the vases themselves were worth hundreds and each silk flower was 30 each from Aldik) they gave us around 15-30 each for the arrangement total!! they were worth hundreds. They came 6 months before and gave my real estate agent a better price then dropped the price to half the second time we called even though we had the paperwork. The young idiot girl Cassie had no clue to the value. They kept my things and over the next months they sent checks for around 20 dollars im not kidding. We sent a truck full of very expensive items and I think I received 3 checks. Probably made 150 total I called and went in talked to several girls including the manager Charlie and they never followed up. At the end it was the most complete waste of time and money and they were horrible with prices and follow up. We ended up picking up last few items by truck and still have no idea what happened to some lost items that they actually lost!! After grieving my mother and trying to deal with her estate this was the last thing anyone should have to go through. Terrible company. read more

DO NOT purchase jewelry from this location!! The lady who manages that area is a complete liar of the merchadise she sells. She sold me a ring, the prongs were loose, the stones fell, I contact her about it, take it to her and show her, she insists shes like to help me resolve the issue and never contacts me. I collect vintage rings and this ring was not to be worn. The level of service is garbage and there is no urgency given. I will NEVER purchase anything from here again. Took a very long time to receive my checks. The manager tried her best to help - but the accounting office seemed to be the problem and I was never allowed to speak with them. It took me about 3 months to get my check when my items were sold fairly close to when they went to the store. Looking at past reviews now that are hidden - not sure I would have gone here. read more

The girl who is in charge of taking consignments is rude, short with people, and not pleasant to deal with. She acts like the queen of everything. My designer furniture was unsuitable for her after reviewing my pictures. She told me to try to give it away or yard sale it. I took it to a garage sale in my neighborhood and sold everything and made $4500. I just did not like how I was talked to, It worked out for me in the long run but I think they need people who are not so rude. They have nice things in their store, but let's face it, they have a lot of crap too. I don't get who their choice czar is and how they make their decisions. read more

So far so good. I had a houseful of furniture that was in great condition. I was changing the look of my house but didn't want to go through the hassle or the possible security concerns that I had with Craig's list. This was easy and professional. They came to the house, gave me a contract and picked up all of my things. Easy. 8 of 17 items have sold within the first 2 weeks and they expect all of the remaining items to sell within the next 2 weeks. As items sell they issue checks. While you have to split the proceeds 50/50 it's easy and safe. Would def recommend. read more
