This place is a lot smaller than the San Diego location much more busier and messy too. You tend to run into people, have to say excuse me or wait to go down an isle because people are already looking in this area, it's full. You do find a lot of unique items like today I found a huge rooster by the front entrance not sure where one would put that haha. Also some kind of Cow chair placed in the middle of the store by the checkout lines. Mirrors, lamps, pillows and more serve as great accessories along with other items within the store for sprucing up your home. I do love homegoods that's why they get the extra star, but this location isn't my favorite. read more

I find that Home Goods stores don't differ toooo much. And I don't frequent the various locations enough to be able to make too many distinctions between them ... I went to this location early on a Thursday afternoon. Everything seemed pretty neatly organized (in preparation for the weekend?) and I was happy to see they had a very nice selection of pots now, which tend to be somewhat seasonal. When we got in line behind about 10 people, it was a little disappointing that there was only one cashier working. But eventually a second and a third came on so it got better. Oh here I go spilling the beans on a well-kept secret. This place has everything you could ask for, for house and home. Decorations, cookware, furniture, linens, even holiday decor. You'll pay a fraction of the price you would pay in a high end store yet the quality is just as good. Word of advice: make sure you've got ample cash because this is not a store you'll be able to walk into, buy one item and leave. Your cart will be filled to the brim and you'll leave with a smile knowing you only paid 1/2 of what you would at a dept store. Only gripe is that some aisles often get messy. The cashiers are so busy ringing people up that they often don't have enough time to straighten the messes that shoppers leave behind. Love this store, and so do my girlfriends. This place is alright, very expensive though. Some of the items here are pretty unique. The nice thing about this place is the convenience. It makes the higher prices worth it. I might come back; the clearance section can be a good deal but make sure you check the items as they are usually damaged if they are on clearance. read more

There is nothing like a stroll through Home Goods on a Sunday afternoon when I have no where to be and money to burn. This is a great store where I can always find something I want for my home. If I need it is a completely different story. Overall the store is really clean and they do have a huge, ever changing inventory of name brand and off brand housewares. Not all things there are stellar quality so like on any shopping trip you have to use your best judgment on how well the item will wear. And you may have to be patient with the long check out line. To give you an idea, here is a list of good things I've acquired over the years that I was happy with: -Large area rug -Mikasa Countryside dishes -Gift bags at bargain prices -Lamps A few disappointments have been some good looking, but poor wearing Peri brand towels. Another disappointment is that they never seem to have any sheets that aren't solid. But, when you're shopping for a bargain you can't always get the ideal thing. read more

Home Goods has great products, it is organized in an easy to follow manner, and the low prices make it worth the trip. Writing this as I'm standing in line on a Saturday morning. There are 12 people in line and ONE cashier working the registers. They called for back up cashiers TWICE so far and not a single person has come to assist. I can't blame the one working but someone was/is responsible for adequate staffing and they have obviously failed this morning. If I didn't need the items in my cart I would have walked out. I'll make sure to check register staffing in the future before I shop here again. It might be worth the drive to go to another location if it's always like this. Home Goods is dangerous regardless if you go in with a strong with a vision or even if you have no clue what you're looking for. I found so many shiny things I had no Idea I needed... Or maybe wanted is a better word. So, I went into Home Goods before a Yelp event and was late to said Yelp event due to wandering around in Home Goods. I kept finding tables then even better tables!! Oh the tables in beautiful pastel colors and flower shapes! Can I just say I only left with 2 tables. I wanted at least six and thus I deserve a self five! They have a huge pet selection and such great prices on pet beds!! I could have been completely okay with starting over with my home if this was my start line. I love home goods ! We bought a house two years ago, we have a lot of ideas, home goods is a great store in order to decorate your home . But customer service is not the best . My cashier Gaby was rude and unprofessional. She seemed to be frustrated and tired . My suggestion if you are tired don't put this on customers . Take a day off . I came to buy a carpet, they informed me that they will bring it to the front , so when I arrived I have to look for it , gaby didnt take her time to greed or acknowledge that I am in front of her, she gave me a look , next 5 minutes I was waiting for her . Hello I am here . After that she told me that I have to find my carpet while she was doing her thing . Finally we found it , she got frustrated because I didn't tell her the exact location of it . By saying you didn't tell me so how should I know . I guess I am the first customer who bought a carpet in that store , even I gave her a sticker for the carpet . I have been shopping at this store for over 10 years and I even won a contest with all of the items I have purchased. Now, years later I'm an interior designer and home stager and I do the majority of my shopping here. Sometimes the store in Solana Beach has more items because it's a bigger store but this store is better managed and you don't have to dig as much. The staff do a great job of keeping things organized and easy to find. I recently went to Market for interior designers in Las Vegas and a huge rug I had ordered for $800, although it was 10x13, this store had the same rug as a runner for $50!! Needless to say I bought it for my client who was thrilled to have an additional rug in the same pattern for a much better price!! Both Managers are very helpful as well as the college kids working here. Jordyn Birch and Teresa have always been helpful with finding me what I'm looking for. The MasterCard through TJX is a bonus as well since it can be used at Marshall's and TJ Maxx too! read more

Great selection of small items for the kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom. However, their furniture selection is limited and more importantly...overpriced. Came here with the GF looking for a 2-drawer dresser. There were plenty to choose from but the pricing was a tad high. $150+ seems a bit high for something that will most likely hold socks and unmentionables. We're trying hard to avoid making a trip to IKEA. I know myself, and I know I'll spend more than I planned to. And the funny part is that my GF is the one buying the mini-dresser. But any trip to IKEA will end in tragedy. My advice; skip Home Goods if you're looking for large pieces. Make a bee-line to Home Goods if you're looking to accessorize any room in your home. This is a really cool place. They have literally TONS of stuff on sale for just about anything you can imagine in the home. But there is so much stuff that on a weekend when it's very busy, it can be difficult browsing or even just walking around. Too many people + too much stuff = headaches. So many goodies... So many broken. You can really get some fantastic items here at fantastic prices, but you have to hunt and be careful. There are definitely a load of cracked and broken things. The first time I came I hated it. However I came back 4 more times and I've completed my guest bath here and gotten some other fantastic home decor. Word to the wise. If you see something you like, buy it on the spot and if it doesn't work when you get home, return it. I went home on 2 different occasions to measure the space for a dresser in the master bedroom and cabinet in the living room. Both times I returned to the store within 24 hours to purchase the items and they were sold. I had taken photos so I showed them to the staff but they were no help. Although I'm an avid Home Goods shopper, my visit last night made me wonder if I'll ever go back again. I purchased an extra-large iron wall piece to hang onto my wall, and it was extremely heavy for one person, like myself to carry. I managed to carry it all the way to the cash register. She rung me up, told me a total, and did not once offer to assist me to take it to my car. There were at least 5 employees walking around the store, noticing me struggle as I walked outside. I tried to fit this massive iron piece into my car, however it just wasn't going to fit. At this time, Home Goods was closed, but I knocked on the front door to let me put the piece back into the store until I could come back tomorrow with a bigger car to pick it back up. I knocked, and knocked, and not one employee even came to the door to assist me. I was stranded, in the middle of Home Goods, with no car to take this large piece home. Long story short, I am not in the slightest bit impressed with the customer service here. If I'm a spending customer, you should be treating me with the assistance I need in order to walk out of your store satisfied. I won't be coming back to this Home Goods any time soon. read more

I feel pretty bad about giving this place a one star review. I feel you can write my review off if you're a woman. I got dragged ("drug" IDK) here by the fiancé. It was loaded with women, the aisles were small and there were things from the shelves protruding into aisle space. It's cluttered. People wander aimlessly in the store. I feel like most patrons come with no purpose other than wasting time looking for knick knacks around the house that they don't really need to accumulate in the first place. I didn't see staff wandering around the aisles trying to help anybody. The clearance rack had stuff that wasn't on clearance on it. I mean... you can get a sweet deal on "home goods" here, but you can do that at IKEA too without having to deal with so much craziness. Not a fan after my latest trip in. I was on the hunt for large Christmas ornaments and different decorations, Home Goods usually has some kind of selection and friends are always telling me to check here. After walking in and seeing signs that read 30-40% off I thought "Perfect, Time to shop"!! After going through all the extremely messy aisles we found two things we liked and they were sitting right under a 30% off sign, I thought "perfect, they're mine!!" When checking out I saw there was no discount, and the cashier told me they don't do sales and the signs throughout the store were meaning 30-40% off the manufacture price and it was really just saying the prices are as marked. How confusing! And after being told rudely by two different cashiers that nobody else has as issue with this, we just paid and left. Can't say I'll ever be back, the parking is awful most days, the store is such a mess and the employees are rather rude when answer a basic question. And yes, I find it ridiculous to have signs stating a sale, when you're just really saying the prices what's listed, pretty redundant and they don't need the signs it just makes it confusing. read more

I almost bought a ceramic bulldog decked out w/make up, pointy shoes, and multiple hoop earrings from this place. To this day, I'm still not sure whether I regret passing up on that or not... This store has stuff for every room in the house, even for pets. Great prices, I'd say cheaper than World Market. Lots of fun themes and are sorted pretty well. Definitely hard for me to walk out empty handed. Think twice before you pass up on things assuming that they'll be there later. Second, why are you blaming the staff for what customers do, who made you the MASK police. Third, for being a military spouse you obviously have no concept of what it means to follow orders as you still chose to expose your grandmother, who has a heart condition to the public. I am sorry that you may have been having a bad day when you wrote your review and I will continue to pray for you and your grandma. Please be kind to the staff regardless of who they are and where they work as they are just trying to make ends meet. Your negative review could have cost them their jobs. There are so many interesting pieces or things on clearance, that you will always find a little something extra. I will say that they do have a great selection of pretty much anything you need for the home: kitchen utensils, towels, couches, ottomans, dressers, soap, practically everything. There were a lot of employees walking around the store but not one of them asked if I needed help finding anything. The clearance sections were small and unorganized. Everything was really expensive, I've done a lot of shopping since I've moved out and I found majority of my things at Marshall's, also brand name items but half the price that home goods sells them for. Returned an item I paid cash for. The register didn't have any money. It was $49 and some change due me. She proceeds to count out my change. 5 $5 and then 19 ones. I looked at her and said really! You can't get money somewhere else. She looks at the little heavy set manager that was standing behind me. The manager states that the register just opened up. I can take what they have or come back!!! Kinda rude. So now the cashier still owes me another $10. She begins to start counting out quarters. Now I'm getting a little upset. Who wants that kind of change when you know this store has more money on hand. So I looked again at the little manager standing there doing nothing, and so did the cashier. Finally she walks away and gets the cashier 2 $5. So my change consisted of 6 $5's and $19 ones. Ridiculous! If you don't have enough money in the drawer to give someone $49 change then maybe you shouldn't be open. Or maybe the lazy manager should do her job. read more

Every time I visit the store it's like a treasure hunt. It does get really crowded at times, so choose the time to visit wisely... They seem to change the items frequently (more frequently than my visits I guess), so I always see something new. The items there are not always perfect or neatly organized, but I think it's part of the fun. I want to give a big shout-out to Francisco who helped us load the nightstands to our tiny tiny cars.
