One of my old toilet in the house started to leak small amount of water on last week from behind the toilet seat so I thought it was an old O ring rubber that was worn out over the years. I started to take the toilet apart and there was one screw holding the water tank that was so worn out and rusted and it wouldn't turn. I've tried every possible ways to remove it but failed. After trying for 1.5hrs, I've decided to call a plumber. After reading positive reviews about Trade Pros, I gave them a call and luckily, Brittany, the owner of the business was able to schedule an appointment the following day. The next day, Jimbo and Tommy visited my house on time as scheduled and after they looked at the toilet, they showed me a very thin hairline but long crack inside of the water tank of the toilet. They recommended a new toilet and gave me a very reasonable quote for the brand new toilet that was similar to the one that needed to be replaced. After receiving a quote for a new toilet, Jimbo offered me a free home inspection including checking all water pipe line in the house. I took his offer and he began to check all water pipe line in the house starting from the water heater. After completing the inspection, Jimbo showed what needed to be replaced and the reasons why. He was very professional and courteous. He explained everything easily and in details so that I have better understanding why old valves need to be replaced. Most of water valves in my house were never replaced since it was built in 1971 and most of them were locked due to its age. All water valves that Jimbo showed me wouldn't shut or open because of the rust that was built over the years including main water shut off valve. Jimbo and Tommy did excellent job replacing toilet and all old water valves. I've never had to hire plumber to have anything fixed since I bought the house so when I needed a plumber, I had no idea whom I should contact. I am so glad I contacted Trade Pros after reviewing the reviews in Yelp. Trade Pros will be the company that I will contact from now on with any plumbing issues from now on. I highly recommend Trade Pros to everyone after my first experience with them on 2/17/2022. Jimbo and Tommy were great guys to work with and they were very knowledgeable and professional. My experience with trade pros was awesome! From the beginning, it was a great customer service experience. I messaged around 8:30 or 9pm on a Tuesday and got a response immediately. They were able to set me up with an appointment next day. When the person who had set up the appointment realized I was interested in a tankless water heater, she messaged back and got me rescheduled, still for the next day. The technician, Cody, who came out was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. He advised me on which water heater would be best for my situation, and have me an estimate for the extensive plumbing that would need to be done due to old, cracked pipes. Cody has availability to start the work on Friday, but since the job would take three days, he gave me the option to start on Monday so it would all be done without being broken up by the weekend. Despite personnel setbacks, Cody was able to get the job done by himself, hauling out the old water heater and heavy cast iron pipes. My new water heater, copper pipes, and updated PVC pipes all look fantastic--I never would've thought plumbing could be so pretty! Cody was a stellar technician and as a late 20s woman I felt totally comfortable in his presence--he didn't talk down to me, didn't make any assumptions about how I'd pay/who was paying or who's "really in charge," and just offered his informed, no b.s. take on what needed to be done. He was a breath of fresh air compared to many of the other service people I've worked with recently. The process of getting financing (0% interest for 12 months) was really easy once the job was done as well. When my garbage disposal gave out about 6 weeks later, Trade pros was the first and only call I made! Cody was out the next day and had a new garbage disposal in my sink in no time. Edgardo showed up within the specified time and was very professional as he evaluated our toilets and gave his recommendations. The one toilet Edgardo replaced needed shims around the entire base in order to prevent any future rocking due to the floorboards having shifted some over time. That is something that a DIYer like myself would not have known to look out for as my main concern was that the existing PVC flange appeared to be cemented in with some kind of adhesive and I wasn't sure if it needed to be replaced. Turns out it did not need to be replaced. He also dye tested our other toilets and explained to me what he was seeing as he evaluated them. One of the toilets definitely needs to be replaced because of its old design (it came with the house several decades ago) weak flushing power, excess water use and coming loose from its base. Before this, I had a hard time finding a plumber that seemed interested in our business, let alone giving a free estimate before doing any work. And I'm not sure where the plumbing experts are at Home Depot because nobody seemed to know where they were at 2 different locations I went to wasting 3 hours between the two just trying to get someone knowledgeable to answer my questions. Usually, our luck with plumbers is that they make us wait around all day, then say they can't make it once it gets near 5pm and they ask me to reschedule in a couple weeks. I don't know if they always have absurdly high prices for everybody or just because I bought two very expensive toilets and think I'll overpay for the installation but, their estimate for "labor-only" was over $1,200 per hour. All the rough-in was done, and all the finishes are done as well. For installing two toilets, replacing 3 angle valves, installing the shower and vanity faucets, plus vanity drain, their estimate was over $2500. Of course, to make it more obscene and onerous, since I supply the parts, there is no warranty from them. Lawyers charges $200-$350 per hour. How can this be legal? The worst thing is that I'm capable of doing 90% of the work. I was trying to incentivize the company with more work. The only part I was not confident in installing the P-trap for the vanity drain. because a fixed shelve of the vanity is in the way and I don't want to alter or cut the shelve. I was hoping an experienced and skilled plumber could install the drain without cutting the shelf. read more
