There is an ice cream shop and three different pub areas where visitors can enjoy beverages and pub food. There are activity areas that include a playground for younger children and another area with table tennis, foosball, and cornhole. Then there's the miniature golf area. Unlike "traditional" miniature golf courses filled with obstacles like windmills, the holes here are miniatures of actual golf courses. They have fairways, sand traps, and roughs. The fairways are not level; you have to plan for breaks. The course is automated. Each hole has an electric sign showing statistics for the hole such as its par, distance, and difficulty. It also displays the number of aces and the average number of strokes for the hole that day. There's an app that players can use to keep score that feeds the displays. There are two separate 18-hole courses. Players can order drinks while playing and have them delivered while playing. There are misting fans that provide a cool, refreshing breeze on hot summer days. Following play, I went into the air-conditioned pub. They have a decent selection of drinks and pub food. Their beer selection includes several draft, craft beers. I had a glass of mango wheat beer and a hummus platter. Both hit the spot on a hot summer day. Their printed menu does not have prices. However, there are little plaques that have a QR code to view the menu with prices. Play is not inexpensive. The fee to play is $25, but customers can play all day. There are packages that allow return visits over a period of time that are more economical. I visited late weekday mornings and was able to play uninhibited by others. I enjoyed my visit and will likely sign up for one of their packages that allows repeat visits.

Overall, I definitely will be returning to try the happy hour as the bar tends to have options you can't get in the dining room. Eight out of 10 highly recommend!

There were a couple reasonable mix ups that were quickly resolved. During the ordering, there were a lot of distractions with the World Cup Soccer game playing. The food was good, but not above average overall. Four of us had the fish tacos and all agree were lacking an acceptable amount of fish. The taste was good, but the cabbage exceeded the amount of fish. The chimichangas had good reviews as well as the quesadillas, but most Mexican restaurants make them just as well. The one outstanding item was the Bandido Taco. Again, definitely not a lot of steak, but the flavor combination was fantastic! A bit pricey at $8 for one taco with no sides. The Winter Garden location isn't an area we would normally travel to, but given the average overall food quality, we will probably stick to closer Mexican restaurants.

I made a standard (meaning indoor) reservation for two, show up at the time only to be told that there are no table available for two. I told they that I had made a reservation, they say they understand that and offer me outdoor seating instead. It's Florida, it's 90+ degrees and raining. No, we don't want to sit outside, so I tell them I made an indoor reservation. They understand but there's nothing available. I ask, then why take a reservation? They tell I that I can wait 20+ minutes for a table to become available. We do. While we wait, larger parties, with children and no reservations, come in. They immediately sit them down. So they do have tables available, they are just waiting for larger parties to come in, not just parties of two to occupy larger tables. Unbelievable. The food was great. The quantity for the prices, are great, and our waitress was great. They just need to learn how to keep the reservations. A paying customer is a paying customer, no matter the size of the party.

Well that all changed over the years as more places opened and competition got stiffer. When the original owner, Derelict Dave, sold to Luis & Gio a few years ago the place got going again. But when the "Bridges Brothers" bought the place it was awful timing as decades of neglect to the plumbing and equipment made the place an Inspection review nightmare! They pumped some money into revamping the motif of the place but all they did was just raise prices it seemed. The quality and choices of food went downhill and the staff was subpar. The initial training of the employees was minimal and it showed in the operational inefficiency. 10 months after opening they bite the bullet and close the doors to stop the hemorrhaging of cash. Another big problem is the landlord is notoriously, cheap, and impossible to deal with so good luck to anyone else who tries to lease out that spot as they will pay through the nose with a zero Tennant improvement!

We briefly explored the outside bar area which had multiple TV's for sports aficionados. It's a great locals spot for this are of Winter Garden which is a little ways from the main area. And as a final blow, the bill was hyper- exorbitant for basic burgers, fries, and a drink. Rather than be honest and explain the wrong charge, reversal that took him 15 minutes, and new one; he just said it was a computer problem. Only because we hailed the manager from another waiter, who begrudgingly hobbled over after awhile, complaining he was busy cooking, did our waiter then attempt to explain what actually happened. Manager's customer service and hospitality wasn't really becoming of the job. Irritated. Gruff. Unhelpful. Corporate oversight's needed here. These types of transactions are retail 101. Everybody makes mistakes. I make mistakes all the time and am generally very forgiving. It's how you handle them that makes all the difference. Get it together Ale House. Manager's a tool.
