Terrible customer service. Walked in and stood at the entrance for 13 minutes with no greeting or acknowledgement of our presence from anyone. Several employees came up to counter and even helped a customer that came in after us with his pick up order and completely ignored us. We left and took our business elsewhere. read more

Wednesday morning we needed a good breakfast. The pictures on yelp don't lie. :::yelpers get your free drink!:::: Seated as soon as we walked in the door. The waitress was right there. She got our free drinks and then answered all our questions. The location is known for their biscuits and gravy per the waitress. I got the light breakfast and subbed out my potatoes for biscuit and gravy. My egg was perfect and the bacon...really was awesome! The waitress also suggested the chicken fried steak. Hubby decided to get the steak that came with egg and biscuit. He really liked the chicken fried steak and was super full from all the food. The presentation was great and the waitress was the best. I love it when they are bluntly honest with us. I recommend stopping here for breakfast. read more

Home Style Cafe is what it is, a true home style cafe where you can get comfort food served up with excellent service! This place is not as popular as the Eggheads which means this joint likely won't have a wait, especially if you have a big party. I went with the Chicken Fried Steak which was pretty delicious. The house potatoes are alright. Be sure to get biscuits on the side! The food isn't life-changing, but it'll be satisfying. read more

Food took a little longer than expected so we did have to pack it to go since we had somewhere to go after. Sat at 10am and had to pack our order to go at 10:45am since we had only received soup and cereal.. i checked the cereal for my daughter and noticed the expiration date was LAST YEAR. April 2020. I did try them myself and thankfully they tasted good(since she had already eaten some) I was a bit thrown off of that. Such a sweet slice of small town wholesomeness! This little unassuming Cafe captured my breakfast loving heart the first visit. My husband and I found this spot during our anniversary trip and it's "our cafe" now. We will come back every time we visit Fort Bragg. We went twice on our trip and were sat immediately. The waitresses were very kind and welcoming, they made us want to hang out and chat all day. The coffee is strong, delicious and abundant, our mugs were never empty or cold. The food is hearty, flavorful and plentiful! We were stuffed but couldn't stop eating. They have vegan options which is a huge plus for my husband. It's always difficult to find vegan options but their menu has an actual "Vegan" selection which made it easy for him to order and not seem like a picky tourist. Home Style Cafe is what I was looking for in a go-to cafe for breakfast and lunch when I moved to Fort Bragg eight years ago from Healdsburg, California. Home Style Cafe's menu has never failed me in those years during which I have dined an average of three to four times a week. "Cordy," owner-operator, and the wait staff create an efficient and friendly atmosphere in the comforting natural wood-finished dining area. Biscuits and gravy are the best I have ever had. Pair them with the excellent chicken fried steak and home fries for an extra special reward on a diet cheat day. Or, skip the crispy tender chicken fried steak and have a couple of fluffy scrambled eggs with those biscuits and gravy. Homestyle's buttermilk pancakes are truly as fluffy as promised too many times in other cafes. There is something extra in the batter that enlarges the flavor deliciously, perhaps some vanilla? I got curious once but didn't find vanilla mentioned in online recipes. I should ask? The cold tuna salad sandwich with Home Style's homemade potato chips is not to be forgotten in any recommendations of this cafe. The chips are simple without flavors other than an appropriate level of salt. And so fresh. The hot and cold sandwich and burger selections are superb. The fries, ditto. Salads are of equal caliber... As I said at the start the Home Style's menu has never failed me for delicious taste and quality. I could go down the menu with glowing comments, but I will just finish with one lament. During the pandemic, it was hard to find kitchen staff. Home Style had to adopt a Mondays and Tuesdays closed schedule. I hope that can change. There is another cafe equidistant from my house that I can walk to on Mondays and Tuesdays, but it just isn't the same. read more

His omelet, however, was a treat since they folded real strips of thick-cut bacon into the fluffy egg. If you can believe it, mine was more gluttonous - the $9.95 Two-Pork Chop Breakfast with Two Poached Eggs, Home Style Potatoes, and Two Biscuits (see photo). I get full just thinking back on it. But I did a pretty good job devouring it with the four-ounce cuts pretty tender and nicely seasoned. Placed in a soup bowl, the spoon-coddled eggs were done just right, although they overloaded me with potatoes, and I even got a cup of applesauce to boot. I was also able to score a large $3 glass of Orange Juice for free (see photo) thanks to my Yelp Check-In coupon. Stuffed. Almost too full to motivate myself to get back into the car. While in Fort Bragg, we decided to try the Home Style Cafe for breakfast. What a wonderful surprise! The menu was solid, the service great, and our food was excellent. Eggs perfectly cooked, an incredibly well seasoned ground beef patty cooked to perfection, and some of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. We never wanted for water refills, and our waitresses suggestions on menu items was spot on. If we are ever back in this area we will definitely stop in again! read more

After a disappointing stop at a cafe in Mendocino only to find the only vegan breakfast option was granola I was ecstatic to see they had a vegan scramble! I even called ahead to make sure it was still on the menu and would for sure be available when I got there. It was awesome! I got it with tofu, mushrooms, onions, peppers, and avocado. The green sauce the server recommended was addicting! It was a super chill place so I busted out the uno cards to play while waiting for our food and while eating. Although I'd love to give this a higher rating, I just can't. I did love the service though! The food was simply just mediocre. The prices are fair but if you only have a day here in Fort Bragg, I would probably look around a little more. I had the pork chop breakfast, my wife had a lite plate and the kids got a breakfast sandwich. The bacon was outstanding though. My pork chop was extremely thin and unseasoned.
