a women-owned small business! donuts are consistently yummy and fresh, and the matcha is surprisingly good as well! i love the crossiants specifically the ham and cheese and the blueberry. the pricing is surprising for 2026, they are super supportive to the community around them, keeping their prices super reasonable and in my opinion, on the cheaper side! service is good, they are very quick and friendly and accommodating to big orders. all donuts are housemade each morning and you can definitely tell! the space is nice, it's pretty open, and there are seats if you wanted to, but it's more of a grab and go.

This place had good service by the gentleman working behind the counter. The place is old in its ambiance and can use an update but I'm not from the area so not sure if this area is just a bit outdated. The donuts- they were so average- I don't even think my donut was made the same day- it was a bit dry and hard. Maybe they only make the popular ones frequently / daily ? We also tried the breakfast sandwiches which was ham. Egg, cheese on a croissant. The croissant was large and fluffy- made for a very filling breakfast.

The donuts and pastries look really good but the have too much sugar added to them. I picked up a ham & cheese croissant, cake donut, and a super sweet cinnamon square bun. The overload of sweetness of these pastries had me on a sugar high.

    SO FLUFFY!

My favorite donuts!! This is my 3rd time here and they never disappoint. I always go for the chocolate ones. Unfortunately I usually always come in after 9 so there is limited options but theres always some type of chocolate donut so im happy. I usually go for the chocolate twists but if you plan to save it for 2+ days, for some reason the chocolate bar tasted better than the twist. Im currently eating the chocolate circle donut as we speak and it had the perfect amount of fluff and glaze and i really couldnt ask for a more perfect donut. my bf always gets the crispy crueller and maple bar and he looves those. come here at 2, its prime time for the fresh donuts if you can! not sure if the guy said it was all donuts or just the chocolate ones but the donuts here are soo gooood, yay for local donut shops!

It is 2022! No excuse for lacking a point of sale system to accept card transactions. Every other business around you accepts cards.

Apple fritter was divine!! Absolutely delicious. And a total bargain at $2.50 because it's the size of 2 donuts.

Yihui Coffee | A Cozy Spot for Coffee Lovers…read more Today, I stopped by Yihui Coffee, and I was immediately drawn to its simple yet inviting atmosphere. The café features a modern black-and-gray interior with warm lighting, creating a relaxed and comfortable space. The design is clean and understated, without being overly decorative, making it a wonderful place to slow down and enjoy a cup of coffee. I especially enjoyed watching the baristas carefully prepare each cup, from grinding the beans to brewing the coffee. The café also offers a selection of pastries and baked treats that pair perfectly with your coffee. What I love most about places like Yihui Coffee is the relaxed feeling they offer. You can sit back with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, have a nice conversation with friends, or simply enjoy some quiet time by yourself. If you enjoy good coffee, a cozy atmosphere, and a relaxing afternoon, Yihui Coffee is definitely worth a visit. Life doesn't always have to be exciting. Sometimes, a good cup of coffee is all you need to make an ordinary day a little more special. #YihuiCoffee #CoffeeShop #CoffeeLovers #CoffeeTime #CafeHopping #AfternoonCoffee #LittleMomentsOfHappiness

The drinks looked like they were made with great care. Hojicha latte was good! The hojicha flavor is strong and did not get overpowered by the milk. The cream top was nice and thick, and you get the hint of black sesame from the syrup without being overly sweet. Tropical matcha was just beautiful! The guava cream was nice and light. The matcha with coconut water was flavorful and well balanced. The additional detail of lime zest was a chef's kiss. When you go in for a sip, you're hit with refreshing scent. I hope this drink becomes a signature! I'm excited to go back and try more!

The coffee was well-made - it wasn't burnt, overly bitter, or sour, so the extraction seemed solid. However, the flavor felt flat and watered down. It lacked the aroma, body, and rich roasted notes that make a cup memorable. Nothing really stood out, leaving it tasting more diluted than satisfying. Also, I don't think the barista could froth the coffee well. Instead of a nice velvety, dense froth, the froth was a bubbly foam (see photo). Food - 3/5. I visited around 9 a.m., but the pastry selection was surprisingly limited (see photo). The pastries also didn't taste particularly fresh; they had more of the texture and flavor you'd expect from pastries sitting out later in the day rather than freshly baked items you'd hope to find early in the morning. The café has a modern, hip vibe and a warm, inviting atmosphere. It's spacious, with plenty of seating, making it a pleasant place to spend some time. Overall, Smoking Tiger Coffee Lab is a fine neighborhood café if you're looking for a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a coffee. Unfortunately, neither the coffee nor the food left much of an impression. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing really stood out either. While the ambiance is probably its strongest point, the coffee is just average.

The owners are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely make every customer feel at home. Their customer service is exceptional and one of the main reasons my family and I keep coming back. The food is amazing! Their chicharrón burrito is the best I've had, and the chilaquiles are always fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Their coffee is just as impressive--they roast their own beans, make their own café de olla syrup, and you can even buy their coffee beans to enjoy at home. Every cup tastes fresh, rich, and authentic. I also love the atmosphere. The artwork throughout the shop is beautiful and gives the space so much personality. It's the kind of place where you want to sit, relax, and enjoy your coffee. Another thing I appreciate is that their prices are more affordable than many other coffee shops, especially considering the quality of the food, coffee, and service. My kids absolutely love coming here, and it's become one of our favorite family spots. If you're in Boyle Heights and looking for incredible coffee, delicious food, beautiful local art, fair prices, and some of the kindest people you'll ever meet, Picaresca is a must-visit. I can't recommend them enough!

I do recommend trying it if its your first time and want something not so heavy. I like the chilaquiles, its better when you add a fried egg. Soo yummy, savory, and flavorful! As for the coffee, if you like a pick me up... and a coffee that isn't sweet but strong. I suggest a refresher drink (tonics). The coffee is sugary and you unfortunately cant taste some of the coffee. If that's your preference, we'll i recommend. Besides that, the environment is lovely and art they have. [Parking]: Free small public parking lot directly across from the shop. [Amenities]: This is a really small coffee shop with no indoor tables and only two small outdoor tables. No restroom is available. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are the Breakfast Burrito, Teddy Bear (double espresso, agave, housemade vanilla cold foam, Teddy Grahams), and Banana Nut. All drinks are made with oat milk. Please note that the kitchen closes at 1 PM on Monday - Tuesday and 2 PM on Wednesday- Sunday even though the cafe remains open for another 1 - 2 hours. Come early for anyone wanting to try kitchen items like breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich. *** Banana nut (double espresso, house made vanilla cold foam, house made banana syrup - medium $7.50): It came with two banana chips. The cold foam was quite underrated and I could taste a hint of banana flavor. The drink wasn't as sweet as I had expected - I liked it. Breakfast burrito (Refried beans, soyrizo, tofu scramble, crispy hashbrowns and sliced avocado wrapped in a flour tortilla - $13.50): Portion wasn't huge, but it also wasn't small enough to finish in one sitting. It had one of the softest texture for breakfast burritos. The soyrizo was very flavorful. It also came with a side of salsa - quite spicy but flavorful at the same time. *** I probably still prefer meat-based breakfast burritos, but their soyrizo breakfast burrito is quite good and the coffee drink is excellent (4.5-star for both items). I would definitely recommend this small coffee shop for a quick grab-and-go.
