(Important Note: Bring Cash. There's a 75 cent added fee for card payments.) I arrived at Bumblebee Donuts (Montebello) on a weekday. Parking is EASY. The lot is HUGE, Staff is forgettable and businesslike. Staff was polite but quiet; staff quickly & tersely took my order and quickly returning to kitchen. As mentioned, I enjoyed the Chocolate Donut with Sprinkles ($1.70). It's affordable and good quality. It tastes fresh and fluffy. YUM. On ambiance, Bumblebee Donuts (Montebello) is uncomfortable. The interior is hot. And some tables were relatively clean. There's about four tables; there's an ATM machine, and there's a Lotto Scratch Ticket Dispenser machine. No music plays in this humid establishment. At the very least, I appreciated the bottle of hand sanitizer. Overall, Bumblebee Donuts (Montebello) offers affordable and fresh donuts. I can thank Siri for this one. I was in the mood for a donut and asked Siri for "Donuts near me." The number one choice was Bumblebee Donuts with 4.5 stars. Siri asked me if that was where I wanted to go and I said yes. Glad I did. First of all. It's right off the 60 so that made it super easy to find. It's in a grocery story type shopping center with plenty of parking. There's no "Bumblebee Donuts" sign. Just the word "Donuts" on the building. I guess there no need for the full name if you're the only donut shop in the lot. I was there on a Sunday morning and it was really busy. All the tables were full of people enjoying their tasty donuts and a steady stream of people was coming in to buy some to take home. When I go to a new donut place, my touchstone donuts are the apple fritter and the glazed twist. The apple fritters are small, about the size of a donut, but I'm glad. Makes me feel a bit better about all the calories and sugar, so I think that should be the new standard size for apple fritters. It was a good fritter. No oily taste. The glazed donut was pretty good too. No oily taste. The winner for me was the cake donut. I had a chocolate frosted with coconut cake donut. It was perfectly excellent. It was one of the best simple cake donuts I've ever had. Definitely don't leave there without getting a cake donut. They also have a wide selection of sandwiches and drinks. Cute little mom & pop donut store! The prices are very reasonable and everything is super fresh. My bf and I love their ham & cheese + jalapeño croissants. Another swim meet, another trip to a donut shop. This time, it was lovely Bumblebee Donuts, with a lovely lady behind the counter. I suppose I was half asleep still when I ordered my chocolate old fashioned and a chocolate bar and a dozen donut holes, because I don't remember what I paid for them. But probably not much more or less than any other donut shop in the world. Except maybe VooDoo... Anywho, the shop is located in a strip mall with a supermarket anchor tenant. And only a block away from the high school that was hosting the swim meet on a dumb-early weekend morning, so I imagine this place might see a few folks. When I visited, it was just a couple of regulars getting their sugar fix for the day. Looks like this place does a bit of work in the sandwich and smoothie departments, too. Clean and brightly lit inside-- this is not that dingy-looking donut shop with the rack of cigarette packs on the wall. No, clean and modern inside. Their croissant sandwiches are amazing, my favorite is the roast beef, but the pastrami is also divine. Warm, flaky, with fantastic flavor. Not all donut shops are the same and Bumblebee substantiates that. I thought I would do some brown nosing and pick up some donuts before the good ole 9-5. Came here for dessert on a Saturday evening and was helped out right away. I ordered a Milk Tea with boba. With zero convincing, I also ordered a sugar twist donut because they all looked so good. Altogether I payed about $5, which is great considering some boba drinks at other places can reach up to $8 for a medium.
