Great experience from service to anbiance to food. Neat outdoor courtyard with large pic nic tables that offer the feel of old school Bar-b-que joint. Food was good. Our hats off went to the Bar-b-que nachos and also the smoked / sliced turkey.

This is a great location for potential customers on the north end of Mount Pleasant. They have a nice sized dining area inside, as well as a large outdoor area with picnic tables and tvs. I went with my parentals as an impromptu outing since they live nearby and the other locations have been great. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was an obvious wait, but people did not seem too stressed or anxious. Many had drinks and kids were running around in the "yard" to burn up some extra energy. The hostess actually anticipated a longer wait than needed, so that was a nice surprise. This would be an awesome place to come for a game. Everyone could have a direct view of the large screen TVs while they eat, drink, and socialize. The vibe is upbeat with some music playing inside and out, too. While we waited for a table inside, we went to the bar and ordered drinks. The set-up is similiar to what I have experienced at their other places. Laid back and friendly. Our server was phenomenal. Wish I could remember his name, because he was really that good. He was very attentive and helpful. They are known for their BBQ, but they do have other items as well. As far as the BBQ, you can get different styles to meet your preference, too. There is ample on-site parking in the dirt/gravel areas around the establishment, which is an added bonus. If you find yourself on that side of town, definitely stop in!

I'm pescatarian, so I'm not a barbeque person and can't comment on that. Home Team doesn't sell seafood, so my review will be based on the sides and apps that we shared. If you do not eat meat, they do have a couple of salad options and sides- and you will find enough to eat. I wound up at Home Team BBQ on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate a friend's birthday. She was the birthday girl, so it was her choice, and we ended up at two large tables outside. I recommend being seated outside here because inside is LOUD and the outdoor area is nice. You can watch one of the multiple NFL games on many TVs. I had the macaroni and cheese side, along with the fried mac and cheese, some tots, chips, and the Game Changer drink. If you order a Game Changer, do eat something and and don't plan to drink anything else- or have a driver. For only $15, it is delicious and probably the most economical way to get drunk in North Mount Pleasant. That liquor will sneak up on you. Our service was quick, as the server takes orders on a mobile device that sends them directly to the kitchen. He kept everyone's water glasses or wine glasses full, even with 20ish people. The restaurant was also fine with us bringing in a cake for the birthday girl. The only downside to Home Team is that the outdoor area is a little dirty/dusty, so dress accordingly. The common area isn't paved or cement. My purse fell onto the ground and was covered in dirt, so if you have a purse hanger, bring it- or just don't bring a purse. I do recommend Home Team BBQ as a great spot to dine out with a group- and even though this is far from me, I'd certainly come back here to celebrate a birthday.

    Time for fun!!

Mostly everything went great ! I would say the food is ALWAYS good! The drinks are always good!! The problem is that the tables are all so squeezed together you can't enjoy a meal or conversation with your table without being bumped or it's too loud to hear. Don't get me wrong, we have been going to home team barbecue ever since they originally opened on Sullivans Island. It was the place my aunt love to take everybody. So we were very excited to have a home team barbecue up our way. We've been there several times, but we would definitely go there more if the tables were a little spread out. I'm talking about the tables smack in the center in front of the bar. The food is amazing and we will continue to go there, just not as much as if we want a quieter dinner. The outside area is fantastic, but it's too dang hot to sit outside right now. We will definitely do that during the fall and the winter months.

It's hard to show you the before picture, because the after speaks for itself!

. What a great place for an afternoon, a barbecue, drinks, beer, and great company. Food is outstanding, the drink of the day was game changer, and if one had to pick, I would do the pork barbecue over the brisket. Outstanding all the way around.

Fantastic!!! First time at this location (regulars at Sullivan's), and I am so thrilled we stopped in tonight! Not one thing disappointed! However you look at it, this place has its vibe on point. From the outside patio (with tabletop heaters!), to the insanely quick, accurate, and attentive service ( ask for David!), to the amazing food (best brisket in Chas, no joke!), you are in for a treat. Tonight, we ordered a tapas style early dinner of one brisket taco, one brisket slider, and a half rack of fried ribs ("Just the Bones"). Each one had its own character, and I would eat them all again. Hands down favorite was the fried ribs! They are coated in an Alabama white sauce and served with a side of "Death Relish". The meat is so tender and crispy at the same time. The white sauce is good, but hold your hats on for this Death Relish. Thankfully, they sell it (pint or quart). I'm taking some home to use on my own pulled pork. Sweet, heat, just the right balance to make the meat sing. Service was perfect. David greeted us quickly, listened to what we wanted, and had a great o really attitude. We had water poured before we had even thought about what to drink, which is a very nice touch. They also leave a small bottle to refill your water glass. I love that because it keeps the server focused on the meal. The overall experience was fantastic, and we can not wait to come back again soon. PS would love to see the parking lot finished. Probably not an issue for trucks or Jeeps but was a bit challenging for the Audi. Lots of deep potholes.

Yes, there will be a line to wait in during prime meal hours. But it's worth the wait. There's also complimentary water available just inside the door, and you can order a beer or drink at the bar to sip on while you wait. Counter staff are courteous and helpful. They even provided an extra bite of brisket for me to munch on while prepping my order. A half-pound of brisket, moist, was my selection, and it needed no sauce at all for the meat and the cooking method stood on their own. All the traditional Texas accoutrements were provided as well (hooray) and I added some creamy macaroni & cheese to finish off my plate. It all came at a reasonable price too, one of the few instances in Charleston where I felt like I was getting my money's worth at a restaurant. There's covered outdoor seating as well as lots of tables, booths and counter options inside, so even as busy as things were I had a surprising number of options on where to dine. The space was kept clean and near by swarming staff members...which leads to my only issue. When I got up to grab another beverage, the quick thinking bussers took away my plate before I was completely done! Aside from that faux pas, I strongly recommend visiting the Lewis operation. Genuine Texas style barbecue experience (including Shiner on draft!) coupled with efficient, welcoming service is a winning combination in my book.

It was just after 12 noon and by some miracle we only stood in line about ten minutes. The rush came in shortly after although I will say they handle the crowds beautifully. When it comes to barbecue, I am a pulled pork girl and I have lived in Texas! I don't hate on brisket, but none of it has bowled me over. Until today. Once again, I wasn't ordering so I just went with the flow. That chopped brisket sandwich was so moist and full of flavor that it did not need a DROP of barbecue sauce. I did use the sauce to dip my fries in. I don't often eat macaroni and cheese although I do love it ( my hips don't!) but I had to try it or risk the wrath of my lunch companions. It was delicious! The best I have had in a restaurant. Collards were fresh and tasty. I enjoyed the rustic setting and certainly the company. They can choose dining spots for me anytime!

I knew I was going with pulled pork and I would have went with the 2 meat if I hadn't had a reception to attend later in the afternoon. Ooooo....gosh that pulled pork was so tender and looks like it had a tinge of mustard to it. I have eaten a lot of BBQ and that pulled pork would be somewhere at the top! Being in South Carolina meant I had to have hash and slaw. The hash was close to a fine BBQ stew and I couldn't get enough of it. The slaw was the way I liked...diced, sweet, and fine! I had to order potato salad as an extra since that is usually my favorite side at BBQ joints. The potato salad was made with red potatoes and very creamy. I love the sauce bar and wish more BBQ joints would have one. Here is a rundown of them: Gold Sauce - tangy mustard base Spicy Gold - spicy Gold sauce Gold Special - tastes like Honey is mixed in for a Honey Mustard taste Southern Red - mild tomato base Sweet Red - sweet tomato base possibly with molasses There is an Alabama (Roll Tide) White Sauce but on this day, they were out. We sat outside so we walked to that outside bar with the friendly, efficient, effective server. We also ordered food, the Butcher's Burger and a set of single ribs with your choice of sauces. Unfortunately the ribs were overcooked and thus tough to bite off and then bit chewy. The burger was quite good, with cheese and sliced pork belly to upgrade any usual burger, but this meat was thick and also had slight bit of tomato jam. Other than the underwhelming, overdone preparation of the ribs, it was a good time for all as people came and went. IMPORTANTLY, on this date, they were selling cooked oysters in small groups ALL YOU CAN EAT (when's the last time you heard that?) for $30. The profit on the oysters is going to a Down's Syndrome support group. Excellent!
