LOUIS IS THE MAN! I found Louis here on Yelp and chose his services because of his great reviews and boy did he live up to it. My wife and I have just purchased our first home, in Fountain Valley, and the previous owners had left us the equipment for their home surround sound. Not being an expert in any of it nor an expert on how to mount a TV on a wall I definitely needed help getting it all up and running. We set up a time for a consultation and assessment of our situation with Louis and he was on time with a smile. Luckily for us we had 80% of what we needed to get the job done. He didn't tell me to go out and buy unnecessary gadgets or electronics nor did he try to up-charge us on things he could install or sell us personally. Less then a week later he was in our living room working on getting us all set up. Being that I had the day off I did some painting while Louis did the wall cutting and wiring. Kind of nice to get to work on your own home side by side with an expert. He answered any and all questions I had and more. He made great practical and economical suggestions for improvement and even talked about options I have for exterior audio/TV in the future. He even spent the last 2 hours programming our single universal remote to control all our accessories. By the end of the day I didn't feel like I was paying someone I hired; I felt like I was writing a check to a friend, a cool uncle, a nice guy who works hard and cares about his clients. I first used the services of Louis about 8 years ago. He installed a sound system for my home. At the time, I was only familiar with the typical Bose speakers....you know, the kind that look like little black boxes. Louis, though, recommended the Klipsch brand of speakers and also made some very good recommendations on receiver and DVD player. Eight years later, I am still loving this system. It has amazing sound quality. I never would have even known about this type of system, if Louis had not recommended it. I'm really glad he did. The cool thing about Louis, is that after he's done with the job, he's still available to provide tech support. I can't tell you how many times over the years, that I've called Louis because I pressed some wrong button on the remote and couldn't get my TV to work. It really doesn't matter which day you call, because he always answers or gets right back to you. That freebie "tech support" is worth a ton. And there were also a few times where he actually took the time to just stop by my home to help me out with it. Didn't charge me anything. Although I think I gave the guy a bottle of wine once or twice just to compensate him a little for the trouble I had caused him. :) Recently, I needed to have several flat screen TV's installed in my home, so of course, I called Louis to do the job. He installed a 60" flat screen in the master bedroom, and three other smaller sets in the other bedrooms. The guy does amazing work, and he's reasonably priced. You can get your TV's mounted on the wall a little less cheaply from Best Buy (if you purchase your equipment there), but they're going to mount the TV on the wall, and then run the cables and connections down along the front of the wall. Not good. Who wants to see the cables running down the wall, when you've just put up a nice TV on the wall? Louis does the job right. He runs everything behind the wall. Cuts the openings, and then puts a clean mounting plate around the edges of the drywall, so it looks nice and professionally done. He also suggested that we go with an electronic eye, which is a small little thing that attaches to the bottom of the TV (you almost can't even see it). But this way, he was able to hide the cable box inside my dresser. So the TV is on the wall, and the dresser sits below it. No cables to look at. No cable box to look at. Sweet..... Thanks Louis. Charged double prices for the wireless electronics installed for my smart TV. About $500 too much! Son who works with Louis is not licensed. Louis verbally said one thing and then did something else. I stopped payment on the check, I was bullied into writing Louis, with no estimate in writing and not signed by me. Now, Louis is taking me to small claims court. I needed to hook up my home stereo surround-sound system, dvd player, etc., to my tv when I moved to Fountain Valley. Yes, I have a really old system, but it works and I don't care to spend the $$$ replacing electronics unnecessarily. Time Warner Cable told me it was "my equipment, my problem"! After a lot of wrangling about customer service they sent out someone who installed a cable on my system so that I could play CDs and get surround sound, but to view a movie and get sound I had to unplug it from one area and re-plug it into the tv. Needless to say that didn't give me surround sound when viewing movies and it was highly annoying. I searched the internet for someone who could hook up my system correctly and found Louis, and Home Theatre Installations. To be honest, when looking at the site and the type of major installations he has done I thought my job would be to small, and trivial and he would refer me to someone else. Instead he came out, on a weekend day to accommodate my work schedule (!), and fixed up my whole system!! He simplified the tangle of cables which were attached to my system, reprogrammed the remotes, and it is perfect now! There are not enough exclamation points for me to emphasize this. I admit to being a tech challenged female. I like my tech, I just don't want to have to be an IT guru in order to use it, or set it up. Oh, and I was willing to spend a lot more than it cost for the service, very reasonable. I will recommend him to everyone I know. Here I am again. I just recently had Louis Mastropaolo of HTI come to my home after seeing how he treated my elderly mother with her home theatre situation and her many remotes. He spent quality time here at our home updating our receiver to accommodate our Bose system so that my husband could deal with all the background sounds. He said he could do it with our current receiver to save money but agreed when we asked him if a more updated system would help of which he said yes. He put all components on ONE remote control device which makes it ever so simple to switch from one componet to another with the touch of one button. He loaded special things on to my IPAD so I could use it as well from inside the home and on the patio or so that my husband could watch one thing inside and I could listen to music outside, all at the same time. To work everything with one remote is incredible for us. In the end, he did not leave until my husband and I both fully understood how to work everything by doing it again and again.
