Was coming from an appointment and was hungry. Never really eat around the Johnston area. Looked through Yelp reviews this stemmed promising. I was greeted in a warm and king manner by the waitress. Super nice. She knew her food and was honest about everything which helped. I decided to have the Johnston Omelet. Eggs, Broccoli, green peppers and onions. I have had any greens lately so I decided to have this dish because of the broccoli plus I dig broccoli if cooked right. The crowed so you be more towards the Senior Citizen. They all seem to be comfortable so that may make them the usual customer. Sevice: great service Food: Good so far, first-timer I will give high stars and come again definitely.

Ordered a breakfast from doordash. French toast with bacon and and English muffin. Although it was nearly $9 it was quite good- so I would say albeit expensive; worth it. Although sad to say - I wasn't given any maple syrup just jelly, ketchup, butter & utensils in the bag. The bacon was a little thin- but good. The grilled English muffin was burnt - I don't know how restaurants can in good conscience give someone burnt food? Again still edible- so it wasn't too upsetting. I also ordered a coffee and never received it- my guess is the DoorDash Delivery Driver forgot to give me it. This has always been one of my favorite breakfast places. Everything was great- my only issue would be that next time I order food from them I need to ask for syrup on the side as well as my home fries well done - but that's preference ! I would definitely order from again! 4.5 stars if I could! French toast was perfection!

Homefries is super affordable and has some of the best omelettes around. They have a white board on display that features very unique specials. The day I went they had salt and pepper homefries. Each time it's something different. What stands out for me is their food always comes out hot and ready to enjoy. It's a strange layout when you first enter.

The fries were very good as well. Ketchup, salt, and malt vinegar were in the bag - which is a nice touch. My attendant at the window was very friendly and I ate my meal on one of two picnic tables in the parking lot. The wiener was up there with the heavyweights that everyone talks about all the time, the NY System OGs, etc. Buns were soft and felt steamed. The Weiner has great flavor, texture and juiciness. The sauce, mustard and celery salt were all on point and in the proper ratios. Even the coffee melt, while in a bottle came from a local dairy and was made with cane sugar. Under the circumstances that's pretty good. We were surprised by the quality and execution. They have the classic wiener formula down. A couple of minor tweaks away from the OGs for the new kids on the block in Johnston. Well worth trying if you're in the neighborhood.

Waiter ended up being the bartender with assistance from a very green employee. Our 2 appetizers, Stuffiies and shrimp cocktail were still on the table when our entree's arrived. It was very rushed service. Couldn't get the young employees attention for small things like more water, and another drink. He tried taking away the shrimp cocktail with a shrimp still untouched. When the waiter/: bartender finally stopped by again he tried taking the shrimp also. It was kind of funny but we felt very rushed. I had the Veal Parmesan. Huge. Awesome as usual. I ordered Angel hair and got a huge plate of mushy over cooked pasta. Big demerit.I only eat half of the Veal ,it's so big.The new guy took the leftover veal, with the big bone still attached, and when he returned the boxed up veal , he had cut the bone off and it wasn't in the box. Didn't see that right away, but thats a huge bone with a bunch of meat still on it. So no one was supervising this kid. No proper server would ever do that. I didn't say anything because it was already in the garbage, so what good would it do. So overall rushed, unprofessional service. Mushy angel hair and I got shorted on mybveal. For the price we pay, everything ought to be perfect. Has been every other time. Not so last night. Still love the place.

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.
