We have been back to Maria's countless times, but this time I tried something new, a sweet breakfast! The waffle was huge & delicious, it does come with a lot of whipped cream. If you have never tried a grilled muffin, try it at Maria's! The only downside to this experience has been the iced coffee, as my friends and I have tried it a few times but it tastes burnt. I've been here a few times and it's pretty convenient considering I live right down the street which is definitely an upside, but the problem is most of the employees are very rude and really don't have a sense of urgency. That's probably because the owners pay them minimum wage and no one has a decency to leave them. Decent tips.. I am a server at a restaurant so I always take care of my server whenever I go out to eat. That being said, I think the food is inconsistent. Sometimes I'll order French toast and it's super dry and old sometimes cold, but I don't say anything because the server will drop it off and then run away and not check in at all. The main reason why I'm leaving this review is that the place closes at 2 o'clock can you at least open until three maybe four I mean it's a breakfast brunch spot.. 2 o'clock is way too early. I suggest opening up an hour later and closing an hour later. It would drive a lot more sales and a lot more people in just a suggestion. read more

This is the first time I've been here because a friend of mine recommended it for breakfast. I had scrambled eggs with white toast and home fries. The food was excellent. Everything came out hot and done right. The portions were a good size. I must say that even though the place was packed, the service was very good. They were very attentive. They made sure that we had our coffee cups filled in that we had everything needed. The atmosphere was decent, it was a typical breakfast place, but it was bigger inside than I thought, and the booths were comfortable. Everything was also clean. Maria's has become a Sunday staple . We've been going to Maria's since they were located in Pawtucket . Despite being busy on a regular basis they have amazing service. The food always comes out hot and fresh . The waitresses are always polite and offer coffee constantly . My usual go to is Order C with scrambled eggs and wheat toast . I've also gotten a sausage, egg, and cheese on a toasted everything bagel before which is delicious. I would even recommend the pesto chicken panini with fries. Maria's breakfast is a classic breakfast in Pawtucket. They moved location but it was only down the street, less than one minute away. As always, it had a long wait time and was very busy. Our wait time for a table of 4 was 20 minutes. The wait time for our food to come out was also considerably long. I ordered a combo meal C with no toast. It was average and simple. The restaurant is clean and new~ still has the remodeling new look~ all staff are trying their best given that there is always lots of people, many orders, and long wait times. Before you go here just know they add automatic gratuity and they have a surcharge if you use your CC. I'm putting that out that because I personally don't like places that do that and I didn't do my research before going to this spot for the first time. ALSO just for reference (not sure if the tip is added because of the size of the party) it was a total of 6 of us BUT we split the bill in two - me & my mom on one and my sister with her family on the other. The service was good, our server was attentive and friendly. We ordered two mango margs, they tasted like cough medicine so I sent them back, she handled the issue flawlessly. We got the ego martinis as a replacement. The martinis were good, sweet and thick. The place itself was cute and warm but the food was kind of bland. I got the steak bomb Hollandaise special, priced at about $21. The shaved steak was dry and flavorless, the eggs cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was tasteless. I've been coming to this restaurant for years. The restaurant is a good size. There are booths, bar seats, and high tables. Occasionally there is a bit of a wait but it moves pretty quickly. I came here for brunch with my boyfriend and it was pretty good! The vanilla chai was absolutely delicious, and the food was pretty good. I had an omelette (mediterranean) and it was good, but the home fries could've been more seasoned. I also got sourdough toast, and it wasn't my favorite, and tasted like sourdough but has the texture of a white bread. The service was great, and the waitress we had was funny and personable. Had the classic diner feel, and I would recommend for a decently priced breakfast or brunch! When I got it, it was so sweet I couldn't drink it because they don't brew it they use flavored syrup. I am a diabetic! I wish they had told me ahead of time it was syrup. I should have known how packed diners would be on a Sunday around brunch time. Modern Diner was our first option but unfortunately, it was way too crowded. There was a line of about three parties out the door, and we really didn't want to wait. A quick Yelp search led us to Maria's, which was also quite busy, but we ended up getting a seat within ten minutes. They have a convenient, spacious parking lot on the corner of Smithfield and Chandler, right next to the diner. The servers are ridiculously efficient and so, so nice. I saw one woman who was taking an order on the phone while simultaneously weaving through the counter/kitchen space and serving other customers. A true hero! I could have easily gotten a filling breakfast for $5-$6, but I decided to go big or go home, and ordered the lumberjack special. A heaping portion of home fries, 2 eggs cooked how you like them, bacon & sausage, toast, AND 2 pancakes for $12? Amazing. My favorite part of the meal was probably the crunchy, salty home fries and the crispy pancakes drenched in butter and powdered sugar. It was bustling inside, and after visiting, I now know why. Maria's is an awesome breakfast place with a variety of options, great prices, and some of the best service I've ever had. Last-minute things to remember: 1) They are cash only. 2) Don't be afraid to squeeze into the entrance and let one of the waitresses know that you're here waiting to be seated. I used to love calling up Maria's and ordering breakfast here, I'm right down the road from them so the days I was feeling lazy it was my go to comfort food! I got an egg white omelette like I always have but this time it was so bad. When I say it was fried to death - I mean it was that brown thin over fried egg throughout the omelette. So unfortunate. I came by here before around 3 years ago. They don't do credit cards which is a problem transmission to hundreds of others who may not be washing their hands. I came here again during the pandemic 4.27.2021. Still all cash so don't come here if you are expecting to normally use your credit card. Food: Portuguese Omelette. Cheese, onions, red bell peppers and chorizo. Sounded good since I a Chorizo fan. It was not that great. The combination was not that appetizing as it sounded. The omelette got lost in the cheese and onions without actually tasting the chorizo (Star of the show on my opinion). Home fries were cooked nice and crisp. I liked it. I ordered the raisin toast. Cooked properly. I asked for the password for the WiFi and the waitress said they could accommodate. If you are looking to use paperless payment on your phone or credit card while dining in to use the WiFi, this may not be your place. It breaks my heart to write this because I feel so bad for the server. Yesterday 4/29/2024 I witnessed a server being yelled at by who I assumed was the boss/owner in front of others. Whatever had happened for the server who looked like she was about 12 did I don't think this should have been attended to in front of customers or other co-workers.
