I stopped by during the RI Food Fights best iced coffee in RI and tried the special iced coffee. It was absolutely delicious! The service was very prompt and the whole restaurant smelled delicious. I'll definitely be coming back and probably trying some food items next time!

We wanted a late breakfast/brunch option and found CRU PVD. It was a cute little spot with really affordable options! Everything was fantastic. I'm bummed we found it on the last day of our trip. Since we couldn't come back, we tried lots. A cortado, a Bloody Mary, lemon poppy seed blueberry pancakes, the Irish Benedict, andddd the lox. They knocked everything out of the park. Pancakes weren't overly sweet. The eggs poached perfectly. The lox was served with generous amounts of toppings. The potatoes were even perfect. Can't recommend this spot enough.

This may (gasp!) be in my top 3 for the RI Food Fights Iced Coffee Challenge. They did a specialty Iced Chai Oreo Edition. It was so unique and DELICIOUS. Best cold foam Ive had anywhere! The space is great- full dining room, bar and takeout area. The chef was super personable. Plenty of parking. Def want to come back and try for brunch!

My delicious omelet and Rhode Island food fights chai latte.

Well I came here for the first time with Rhode Island food fights coffee. I was really impressed. I received a delicious chai latte with whipped cream and Oreo topping. It was so delicious. I decided to also get some breakfast while I was there. I ordered a fantastic omelet with sausage, bacon, tomato and cheese. The service was great and they were both very helpful. I can't wait to go back and get brunch there again.

Very nice atmosphere, order at the counter and then your food and drink gets delivered to the table. Coffees were excellent, they even have decaf iced! My husband got an omelette which was huge and he really enjoyed it. I got the prov breakfast sandwich, which was really good and my friend got the breakfast sandwich with multiple meat and it looked amazing! Service was great and the atmosphere is perfect for visiting with a friend or getting work done. They also have a bar and cocktails, and they are open for lunch as well.

Service was great we were greeted right at the door with a smile, was explained the menu and how the restaurant is run and the flow of it (can order and sit or get full service). Food was excellent, me and my girlfriend got the French toast and the waffle and both were great! The true story is how cheap it was too, two entrees and a coffee ran us about 30$ including tip which I think for what we got was extremely fair. It's only a matter of time before this place catches on.

GLUTEN-FREE FISH & CHIPS ALERT! My quest for finding gluten-free fish & chips has finally ended in my very own neighborhood. We did it. Well, CRU PVD did it, & I ate it & loved it. The vibes of CRU are immaculate. Retro, friendly, comforting, & suave. The quality of food to price of food ratio is inspiring - I love a heaping salad with seasonal fruits & vegetables for just $8. Most of the menu can be made gluten-free, which brings a tear to my eye. Don't sleep on the pan-fried turnip cake. Sounds strange, right? I crave it constantly. I haven't been to brunch yet here - I'm not a big brunch guy, what can I say. But that seems to be a hugely popular event here. Also check out their calendar of events. They put on some funky soirées. Murder mystery dinners? Yes, please!

I came back to Cru for a late breakfast with Meg M. We are also doing RI Food Fights iced coffee and came here on the first day. To took our order and took care of us. We had the signature iced latte with had Oreos in it! And could also be topped with cold foam, I opted for no cold foam since it had dairy in it. My latte was made with oat milk and was great! For breakfast we had the bananas foster French toast and eggs, home fries, and toast. They didn't have the basic breakfast on the menu of just eggs, potatoes, and toast but it can all be rung in separate and was super affordable. The food was really great and the potatoes were cooked and salted perfectly! They also have WiFi, this is a great place to come for breakfast and get some stuff done! Carlos brought the food out to us and he was so sweet. In addition to their hot coffee bar area, they also have a water station! You can get soda water, coldish water, and iced cold water! The decor is really great here too. I hope more people visit!

I liked Bayberry Beer Hall (which was in the same location before) but CRU leveled up in terms of food, service, ambiance and decor. What was once a big open space is now sectioned off into cozy booths and allow for some privacy. The space is still modern, minimalist and open but it has a more cozy and elegant feeling. We went for brunch. The scallion pancake with mushrooms was full of umami flavors and was a generous portion. I had the eggs benedict with sautéed kale and tomatoes - I appreciate the different options for either meat or vegetables on the benedict. The bloody mary was excellent - big, perfectly spicy with horseradish and well balanced. The other cocktail we had was with bourbon and amaro (can't remember the name) but it was delicious and went down smoothly. Minus one star for a mimosa that was made with completely flat prosecco. However, our server handled it graciously. Service was friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed this spot and will be back to try other things soon!

Went for brunch with the girls! I got the breakfast burrito and it was pretty good and it came with this aioli that was to die for! Service was great - quick and easy! Would definitely recommend!

I stopped by CRU today on a whim (it's been on my "to-try" list for a while), and I'm so glad I finally did! I started with two cocktails--the Golden Fang and the Matchatini. The Golden Fang was strong but perfectly balanced, while the Matchatini was lighter and paired nicely with my entrée. Our table shared the Calamari and Loaded Hash Brown Tots, both served in generous portions and seasoned beautifully without being greasy. For my main dish, I had the Green Cod Curry, which was absolutely delicious. The vermicelli noodles with the cod and curry reminded me of a creative twist on the Thai noodle soups I grew up with--comforting yet unique. I also sampled my friend's Chicken Pibil with blue corn tostadas, and it was equally flavorful. We finished with the Flourless Brownies, which were rich and decadent without being overly sweet. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting, with plenty of group seating, bar space, and a fantastic open-kitchen concept. A special shoutout to our server Michael B, who was wonderful, and Chef Skyler for such a memorable meal. I can't wait to come back--next time, I'm trying their brunch.

This was my second time going to Cru since I stopped by the first week they opened! We got a bunch of different dishes to share. For drinks, I got a matchatini which was delicious (and one of the better matcha drinks I've had). For appetizers, we got the cheesy garlic bread, olive oil shrimp, and loaded baby tater tots. The cheesy garlic bread was delicious, though the sauce on the side didn't seem to go that well with the bread. The shrimp was also a refreshing appetizer and was similar to crudo. The loaded tater tots were probably my favorite appetizer - there was so much and they were nice and crispy. For entrees, we got the pork schnitzel, summer pasta, and the ribs. The schnitzel is probably my favorite item on the menu since it's a relatively large cut and also very crispy. The summer pasta was a nice addition to the pork. The ribs were probably our least favorite since they were a bit more on the rare side, but it was still good! We finished off with the blueberry cheesecake, which was the perfect way to end our meal.

This was my first time at CRU PVD Kitchen & Bar. I checked it out with a friend for brunch on a Sunday. I had made a reservation and were seated right away. CRU PVD Kitchen & Bar gives a warm and welcoming vibe and it smelled so good. Previously Bayberry Beer Garden was in this space, but I've never had an opportunity to visit it. My friend said CRU PVD Kitchen & Bar did a lot of renovations to make it their own space, but there is still some remnants like an exposed brick wall. Looking at the cocktail menu, my eyes were immediately drawn to the matcha-tini ($16.00). OMG WHAT??!! I'm not a big fan of espresso martini, so when I saw the matcha-tini, I had to absolutely get it. I asked the server if I could substitute oat milk with whole milk and that was no problem. The matcha-tini also had japanese vodka, genepy, honey, and matcha tea. It was so smooth and the perfect combination. For food, we had the Dean St. Breakfast Burrito ($11) and added house-made chicken sausage ($3). The burrito had scrambled eggs, baby hash-browns, cheddar cheese, and garlic-chili aioli all wrapped in a tortilla. It was stuffed with prime and fresh ingredients. I enjoyed every single bite of this burrito and it was very filling. Both the drink and food were delivered quickly and were perfect. Fafi was our server and was very friendly. I can't wait to visit CRU PVD Kitchen & Bar again for brunch or for dinner.

Looks deceive! This re-imagined version of a historic site gives all the peace vibes, matched only by the warm, chill staff.

I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good. It's best for small groups (no more than 4-5). I love the customer service here: our server explained the alcohol as we got each of our cocktails. I will admit, though, because I'm slightly hard of hearing, I missed a lot of the explanations, but that's ok. I came in a group of four and we all took sips of each other's drinks and that was really fun! Every drink was great, but I do favor my sake drink, white port/cream soda cocktail, the vermouth, and the one with the amaretto. Don't expect the menus to be the same as in this review! They do change it frequently and have non-alcoholic mocktails, too. We heard about this place from coworkers and that they had won an award for best new bar--an award that's well-deserved.

From our arrival, the hospitality was top tier. Warm, welcoming, unrushed. The space itself is cozy and intimate, with this beautifully curated burnt-orange vibe that feels a like a 1930s-40s Cuban lounge. Even the staff subtly matched the aesthetic and color scheme. You can tell a ton of thought went into every detail of this place. Every cocktail we tried was creative, balanced, and thoughtfully composed. Presentation was beautiful without being gimmicky. One of the hosts/servers took the time to explain each drink. We also tried the flan. It was silky, perfectly set, just sweet enough: 10/10. Once there, we learned that Loma's Latino-owned, and that heritage is subtly celebrated throughout--from their curated Salsa playlist on the high def sound system to their inclusion of Latin American flavors and ingredients in their menu. Oh and one of the details we loved most: there's no big wall of liquor bottles on display like you see in most places. They keep only a few featured spirits visible and tuck everything else away, which gives the whole space a more intimate, upscale, almost homey feel. In short: impeccable vibes, genuinely warm hospitality, gorgeous space, incredible drinks, and thoughtful details everywhere. Loma is exactly the kind of bar you hope to stumble upon when traveling--and the kind that makes you wish you lived closer. A must-visit. We'd come back in a heartbeat.
