Great little spot for lunch and a quick glass of wine. Prices are reasonable. Ordering is quick and courteous. In downtown Sonoma Food has taken awhile (25 mins)to get a slice of cheese pizza & meatball sandwich- Hubby like the sandwich & the slice was delicious - surprisingly sauce was tasty Bathrooms are on the older side but have soap and towels for cleanliness

Stopped in during our tour of Sonoma downtown and the place was fantastic. Pizza was delicious. Staff were friendly. And the wine was excellent. What else do u need? Haha. Enjoy.

Slice Shack is a quick and affordable spot for a quick slice! They have all the basics and some more intricate pairings! I got one with artichoke hearts in it and it was delicious! They are doing pizza the right way here!

After a few stops on a wine tasting tour around Downtown Sonoma, we needed a quick bite to eat prior to continuing the wonderful wine afternoon - And we stumbled upon Slice Shack By Mary's - The perfect mid-wine meal! I've never really been a huge pizza person but lately, that's been changing and I've been wanting pizza all the time - And Slice Shack By Mary's sure did hit the spot! Located right in the Sonoma Plaza, it is the ultimate location whether you are doing a day of shopping or wine tasting - This is a perfect break for a no-frills but delicious lunch! Since it's located in the Plaza, there is plenty of parking available as spots are located all around the square as well as the surrounding streets - and it's all complimentary parking! The team here is wonderful! They are super friendly, patient while folks are deciding on their pizza toppings and they were amazing while monitoring the amount of people in the shop while ordering and maintaining the proper social distancing protocol - Bravo! This made us feel so comfortable dining here. There are a handful of tables outside {as when we came it was outdoor seating only in CA} - It seemed like most folks were taking theirs to-go. If you are dining outdoors there may be a bit of a wait but tables are cleaned between guests and properly spaced apart. Onto the good stuff! The menu is vast so you are sure to find something to satisfy your tastebuds - Meatballs, Soups, Salads, Breadsticks, a Hotdog in a Blanket, Pizza as well as Desserts. We were here for the pizza - What's better with an afternoon of wine?! Nothing! You can order whole pies, signature slices as well as build you own pie/slice - Score! My husband went with the Hawaiian Luau Slice - Canadian Bacon, Pineapple, Signature Pizza Sauce and Mozzarella and loved every bite! What are your thoughts - Do you like Pineapple on pizza?? We sure do! Me.. I'm a sucker for creating a slice depending on exactly what I'm feeling at the moment. When you are building your own slice, you have a plethora of options: Cheese only, Grilled Chicken, Salami, Italian Sausage, Meatballs, Bell Peppers, Onions, Jalapeños, Tomato, Olives..and so much more.. pretty much anything you can think of!! My go-to when building my own slice is typically Sausage, Mushrooms and Onions {with added Chili Flakes, of course}! And if I'm feeling saucy, I'll ask for a little dipping sauce - Ranch dressing {but only for the crust}. Do you like Ranch on your pizza?? We will be headed back to Sonoma in a few weeks for our annual Anniversary Wine Weekend and I can't wait to grab a slice - I am already thinking about what I'm going to get! If you are building your perfect slice.. What would you put on it?

They split the big slice in two for us

Perfect spot for a grab and go slice in Sonoma. After perusing through the historical downtown area, we were craving a little snack and followed our noses to Mary's Pizza Shack. Even better, next door to it was their to-go slice spot, or "Slice Shack." Ambiance was small but cozy, there were about 3-4 pizza flavors at the front. The one with the meat and mushrooms caught our eye. We decide to order one and the cashier offered to cut it in half for us. Waited for about 5-8 min for them to toast up the slice in their oven and when it came it looked freshly baked. Crisp crust, flavorful and fresh toppings, not too saucy. Polished it off in a few minutes. I was tempted to get another one, but I i held off- it was just a snack after all. Next time, I'll try the restaurant so I can sample more of the entrees.

Pizza - 4.0 stars - Luau Hawaiian Slice - $5.50 and good! My husband got the Italian Hawaiian slice and he was happy with it too. Hits the spot after wine tasting very big slices. Honestly I wish they heated mine through just a tad bit more, but it was fine (it was just kinda warm). Seating - 3 stars - I would say don't count there on being seating at this place. There are 5 seats inside and two seats outside. It should be called a carry out or just at least expect to stand outside. Good service and they were friendly. Fast, cheap, easy!

    Big slice of pizza!

Pizza was okay. It's by the slice so that means you order which ever slice you want from the ones already made and they place it back in the oven to heat up. Staff consisted of two young teenage boys and while we were eating inside, the manager from the main restaurant came over and started scolding the boys. He's tired of this and that and this needed to be done and all that... unprofessional to do that scolding while customers are in the lobby within hearing distance but whatever.

I'm so glad I found this place! After experiencing really bad service at The Swiss Hotel, I dropped in here for some pizza and a meatball. Alex was super helpful and really went out of his way to make sure I had everything I wanted!

It was very refreshing and well balanced. We got the mozzarella sticks and the bread with ricotta whip. Unfortunately they ran out of their focaccia bread, so they gave us a sesame bread, which was alright. The mozzarella sticks were very good with a great crisp, and I liked the cheese they used. We got 3 pizzas to share, a pepperoni, arrabiatta, and the potato pie. The potato pie was my favorite. It had blue and golden potatoes and the onion and bacon rounded out the flavor well. The pepperoni was solid and the arrabiatta was the groups overall favorite. We asked for a ranch for each person, not realizing they came in larger portions in bowls, so we were very happy as a ranch loving table, but something to keep in mind. One ranch portion can definitely be shared between two people. An overall nice spot to come for a casual dinner with friends and/or family.

Small parking lot available around back! Large outdoor patio, separate bar area, and expansive dining room provide you with many an option for small to large groups! The interior has local hangout/dive bar written all over it, but in a casual, welcoming vibe. We had bar service since the dining room wasn't open quite yet when we arrived! The bartender was confident, efficient, and welcoming, even with a large crowd of people! The food far exceeded our expectations! The mozzarella sticks are truly a STAR...perfectly crunchy with a tender, "ideal for the cheese pull" center! We had the Vodka Sauce pizza, which was truly delicious...taking the normal red sauce pizza up a notch with the twist! You cannot skip the side of ranch...which rivals even the best Midwest recipe I could remember! If you want solid pizza and bar food after a long day of exploring the nearby vineyards, Buck's Place is where it's at!

So crispy and garlicky! And, the kitchen (plus our amazing server Gustavo!!) was kind enough to make a custom pesto cavatelli for me because I didn't want the cavatelli with morel mushrooms! I will be thinking about the texture of this pasta + the pistachio pesto for a long time. They kept the corn pudding of the original dish at the bottom and it was such a good combination of flavors. I got chicken added on top. I got an espresso martini with gin; pretty good, just wished there was a bit more espresso flavor. Probably would order one of their house cocktails instead next time. Lastly we had the stone fruit cobbler with ice cream and a pine nut/pistachio brittle. Unlike any other cobbler I've ever had. Perfection of different textures. Also, we had the duck fat fries on another day; they were delightfully crispy and lightly seasoned with garlic. The ranch it came with was so yummy and definitely dill-forward. I'd definitely come back! Thank you for your hospitality.

The Parker house rolls looked a lot more impressive than they tasted. Over salted on top. Airy texture inside but weirdly chewy in a Wonder bread goopy way. Not a pleasing mouth feel. After just 15 minutes on our table they were stale. Bambie ordered salmon. Nice hunk, probably 7 ounces. Pink and fleshy. Moist. Gently cooked. Sides were garden fresh vegetables. I ate the 1/2 chicken. Airline cut. It was a little pullet, maybe 6 ounces. Cooked well. The spicy red sauce that was under the bird was outstanding. I'd be perfectly happy to have a plate of spaghetti with this sauce. The crunchy fingerling potatoes were fun at first, but as the meal went on I couldn't finish them. They were too oily and too salty. Dessert was the recommended cheesecake. Righteous. The exterior of the big slice had a mild Crème brûlée texture and the cake itself was a heavenly cloud. The poached strawberries were the perfect accompaniment. So, is this a 5 star meal & experience? No. i put it in the casual sort'a fine dining box. Last night I ate at The Girl and the Fig on the Sonoma town square. That meal was much more delicious for significantly less money. Tourists who are overly impressed with Michael Mina will be happy here. Locals like me who grew up eating at Sondra Bernstein's several restaurants over the years will be even happier.

Clam Chowder - Creamy, comforting, and a nice starter. Bacon Cheeseburger - A solid burger that definitely hit the spot. My only real complaint? The wings. Not the flavor--the portion size. For $20, I think the order should include at least 8-10 wings. You get six (the sixth one is hiding under the garnish in my photo ), and one of them was noticeably smaller than the others. They were so good that I just wished there had been more! Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. In 1959, family matriarch Mary Fazio opened up a "shack" serving up Italian homemade comfort food. That shack was in nearby Boyes Hot Springs. The shack is long gone and the family still runs their local restaurants. I'm no stranger to Mary's Pizza. Been dining at their various locations for over 20 years. My go to faves are the pizza and Mary's house salad. But I've never had anything I didn't like from them. The pizza when baked right has a crust with a nice chew and perfect combination of crisp exterior and soft interior. They use quality ingredients. I like that they use the traditional pepperoni with natural casing, it curls up into little cups when baked. Taste all so good. Mmm. Terrific, classic cheese stretch. Pizza sauce is housemade, as is the Sonoma salad dressing. I order that dressing with the signature salad which is another fave of mine. The late weekday afternoon I dropped in, our waiter was enthusiastic and engaging. But possibly due to staffing levels, he forgot to provide plates for the pizza he dropped off and the other items we requested (napkins, refills, the check). We asked the waiter that was assigned to the neighboring tables. Our waiter was covering other tables on the opposite side of the restaurant along with our table.
