We had a garden hydrant wear out that needed to be replaced. I had already dug down to the water source and researched what replacement requires, as well as what I should expect to pay. Home service was available to come out for an estimate the next day which was great. The estimate was very fast, but ridiculous. He said it would cost over $2,000. I asked him how long he thought the project would take and the answer was "up to 3 hours". The parts cost less than $100 at home Depot, so we're talking about a $600 per hour bid. Complete waste of time. If you decide to use them, make sure you understand what the project takes to make sure they don't overcharge you for labor. read more

They not only responded so quickly on Sunday and came out on the same day services, but also they didn't charge me saying that the issue was not hard enough to solve it. The technician was very kind to explain what might cause the issue and what they are going to do solve this issue. The three stars given reflects an average of three visits: two times when I received outstanding (five star 2x) work at a terrific price and one, more recent (one star) disappointment. In the first two cases they cleared a drain quickly and for just $75, in the other they just opened up an angle tap on a faucet and didn't charge at all! My recent disappointment was with a bathroom sink with a a slow drip at the hot water handle. The technician told me I needed a new valve cartridge (correct) but that wasn't possible to get spare parts for this manufacturer, Graff (incorrect) recommending that we replace the whole faucet for $762 in parts and $750 in labor. Before accepting the quote I looked into it myself and easily found that the parts available directly from the manufacturer with a lifetime warrantee such that the parts were FREE! So while the proposed invoice quoted about $1,500 for the job, the actual correct cost should have been $0 in parts and perhaps a few hundred dollars in labor to replace just the faucet cartridge. As this something I can easily do myself when the parts arrive I will in the end spend exactly $0 doing it myself. I'm going to accept that it was an honest mistake (the manager responded kindly to my complaint and assured me that the tech had tried to source the parts locally to no avail and simply made the mistake of not also trying the manufacturer) and thus I have revised my score up from its original one star rating. read more

We ultimately had two jobs, the first was to replace a bad segment of pipe clay pipe with PVC, creating dual-direction access points, and the second was optional taking advantage of the trench to resin line the rest of the clay pipe, for which he gave us a good deal--I wanted the peace of mind and was willing to pay up front to avoid a repeat. I really can't say enough good about these guys. They redid the sewer lines from my house to my street due to failing orangeburg lines and then repiped the lines under my home to the main bathroom. I purchased my home in 2011 and all was fine until about 2019 when I started having major backup issues every few months. I had about 6 different plumbing companies each tell me something different. I would pay to have them fix my problem only to have it backup again. When I reached out to Homeservice they sent a technician out the same day, cleared my lines and identified where my plumbing had failed. They were the only ones to go into the crawl space, offer the scope at a reasonable price and I am so grateful I had them do the work. I called on a Wednesday about a toilet that had reached my final YouTube diy breaking point - they sent someone for the same evening. Issue wasn't found and they sent someone immediately the next day to scope. When they give you the two hour timeframe, I'm usually very skeptical on when people actually show up. However, these guys are on it. Not only do they call you when the service plumbers is on the way but they give you an eta that is an actual accurate time! Our pipes were redone about six months ago and recently the toilet water has been coming up in our three shower units. My mom called the original people who did our pipes and was quoted $499 to come and clear the blockage. She then turned to Homeservice Plumbers and they were kind from the start and only charged $99 to come out for a draining clearing service. This was unexpected for a Saturday and we are beyond appreciative of the affordable and speedy services. Brandon and Geo were able to come out with in an hour of us calling. They were both very quick and professional with their work. Additional services were required dude to their findings but they were communicative and happy to help, giving us a clear timeline and estimated budget for the service before continuing. The work they did in clearing the drain made it so the showers and bathtubs no longer had back up water in them, as well as waived the original $99 for the and gave us a military discount (mom is retired Army) for the additional diagnostic services needed, since something deeper was the issue. They gave us tips for the day to prevent any problems until a permanent solution could be reached in a few hours. 10/10 recommend and will use them for any plumbing needs in the future! My mom would like to add that they are also handsome, so don't be surprised if polite models show up at your door and try not to gape, hehe (; The service was fast and friendly as they say.
