Observed termite damage on a baseboard in my home, and called 4 different pest control companies for inspection and a quote. Of the 4 companies, Homeshield was the ONLY one which correctly identified the termites as subterranean, rather than dry wood termites. The 3 other companies provided me with quotes for tenting, which was in the $2,000 neighborhood. We used Home Shield to oversee the "tenting" of our property for termites and to ensure a thorough job of the exterminate of an infestation of termites. They oversaw the job thoroughly. After tenting, Home Shield "dusted" the attic with a white powder which serves to highlight any possible return of termites, which has not in any event occurred. They installed very fine screen mesh at the air portals to the attic to ensure termites could not re-enter the attic at a later date. They came back annually to reinspect to ensure that there was no reappearance of termites. We were delighted with their oversight performance and highly recommend them! read more

There were several wasp nests around my home, a couple near the roof, my garage door, and one in front of my door. So gross! I was concerned because I did not want wasps to get near my baby. I called several companies and this was the only company that actually responded to me immediately. They were able to come out very quickly and address the issue and spray around the home as I was also having some ant issues. I like that they are mindful of the importance of a safety and so they have "ecosmart", a safe spray to kill bugs. I would say the ease of communication, promptness would give it 5 stars. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled about was when the wasp nests were struck down, I noticed pieces of the wasp nest on the ground that were missed so I felt a little grossed out seeing the pieces of the honeycombed nest. Yech! Besides that, I would highly recommend this company. Also there is a 30 day guarantee so I had them come out once more to spray around the home. read more

I have been using HomeShield at two properties. We originally had issues with tiny ants and pantry moths and were concerned with toxicity. As anyone who has ever had an issue with pantry moths knows, it is ridiculously difficult to get rid of them and keep them gone. HomeShield gave me good instructions on how to prepare (throwing out or inspecting all packages and clearing shelves off for the first spray) and then have been back for regular service keeping all those bugs as well as silverfish, indoor flies, spiders and other bugs gone from both properties. The techs are always nice and professional and arrive within the promised window. I will keep my service contract with them and continue to use them for all my pest control needs. read more

The only reason they have positive reviews is because they give a discounted service if you write a good review with five stars. I found this company through yelp because of these falsely given five star reviews. They came to my house three times before they were able to correctly identify the bugs that were all over the house. When I called them back to report that the bugs were still everywhere and their treatment had not made any change, Jake the owner of the company yelled at me that I didn't know what I was talking about. I took videos of the bugs walking everywhere, and then they came and identified the problem on the third visit. Afterwards, because I had signed up for an annual maintenance program, they had to come in every month but they always gave excuses not to come on the scheduled date, not to spray inside the house, and not to keep to their end of the agreement although they had been paid heftily for the annual program. I would NEVER hire this company again. The owner needs psychiatric help. He threatens and bullies people to get his way without providing the services he's hired for. read more

First off, this company was super responsive. I went through a recent construction, and had the ceiling opened up for weeks. I been feeling itchy and seeing a few bumps on my legs for about a week and I was afraid some bugs may have gotten in from the ceiling. I also spent a week in a hotel during the construction so I thought maybe it could even be bed bugs. I sent out this description to a few companies for a quote and most responded back saying they don't provide this service... insane since they are a exterminators... Homeshield called me right away to offer me a free inspection the next day. Jonathon was the tech that came out and he's such an honest guy. He did a through inspection of my home took the time to explain to me what he was looking for. He found no signs of any bugs I should be concerned about and told me what to look out for but that I probably don't have anything. Considering I've been itching for a week, if he had told me I have bugs and I need to do treatment I would have believed him and paid for it. It's rare to find an honest company these days and Homeshield is definitely one you can trust. For any reason I need an exterminator in the future(hope I don't),I'll definitely be reaching out to them. read more
