These people are thieves!!!! I closed my account several months ago yet they continue to charge my account and the manager can never seem to call back to resolve the matter. I would never use this company as issuing a refund seems to be too difficult a task for them to accomplish. Can't imagine how ineffective they are with their services. Do not use them. Original review posted on google June 15, 2025: I've been a monthly customer of Home Shield for pest and rodent services. While I've previously overlooked minor communication and service issues, a recent and serious incident has forced me to speak up. On Memorial Day, we discovered that one of the bait boxes on our property was not properly closed -- the poison bait was exposed. Poison Control advised us to take both of our dogs to the emergency vet immediately, stating that even a small amount of the poison could be harmful. Thankfully, we acted quickly, but we were left with nearly $3,000 in vet expenses and a great deal of fear and stress. We called Home Shield's customer service line and left a voicemail since it was a holiday. The following Tuesday, I hadn't received a callback, so I called again. The representative was kind and said they would transfer me to a manager. I was told the manager would call me in a few minutes -- but after waiting 2-3 hours, I called back. I finally spoke with a manager who said he would follow up with the technician to determine whether the box had been properly closed and would send someone out to remove the boxes. He told me he would call me back, but instead, I received a text at 5 p.m. saying the stations had been removed and that I'd receive a call the following day. I replied to that text asking what time I could expect a call -- it was read but ignored. I sent a second message the next morning offering availability -- again, read but no response. When I called the office to cancel the upcoming service until the issue was resolved, I was contacted by another manager, Luis. I explained that I felt my concerns were not being taken seriously. During that call, we discussed my submitting documentation of my pets' treatment and vet expenses. Luis confirmed that the retrieved bait boxes were not broken and didn't show signs of tampering. He noted that techs take photos during service, and I confirmed I had seen one in the customer portal -- but when I asked if there was a photo showing the box sealed after service, he said he wasn't sure. He explained that the boxes were tamper-resistant and required a key, and that he'd need to escalate the issue to leadership for possible reimbursement. He also said he'd call the next day to check on my dogs. That call never came. I sent a message explaining the vet documents would be delayed -- the message was read and ignored. After eventually sending the documents, I continued to follow up -- messages were read but not responded to until I directly asked if they had been received. I then received a brief text asking how the dogs were doing, but again, no further response. After more follow-ups, I was told the information was being shared with leadership and that I'd receive updates when available. During this time, I again requested that all services and billing be paused until the situation was resolved. Then, on June 6, I received a message about a scheduled service. I called Luis to reiterate my request to pause. He said it was an automated message and confirmed the pause. He also mentioned that leadership was away at a conference in Arizona and that he'd update me when they returned. A week later, I texted him for an update -- the message was read and ignored once again. I fully understand that these things take time and internal communication may be delayed. But promising a call and not following through -- repeatedly reading messages and not responding -- sends a clear message that I'm not a valued customer and my concerns are not a priority. I chose Home Shield because I was assured that their products were safe for pets. Now I've faced the real fear of losing my pets, spent thousands in vet care, and felt ignored throughout the process. Update from initial review: 6/17 - I submitted the remaining documentation for both of my pets' vet visits. I also shared the info provided by Poison Control concerning the care that was recommended for each pet. I was informed this info would be reviewed and then we would discuss next steps. Last week of June - I was informed that reimbursement had been mailed but the manager was unable to confirm where it had been sent. 7/1 - the manager was still unable to confirm where the reimbursement had been mailed but mentioned it would be coming from Anaheim. 7/17 - I sent a text in the morning requesting a corporate number/email but did not receive a response. I called closer to the end of day and the manager mentioned that he has been unable to connect with the owner regarding next steps. He was unsure where documents had been mailed and would reach out when he had more information. 7/23 - I sent a follow-up text requesting an update and the number/email for someone at corporate if he was unable to provide an update. I have not heard back. As I have mentioned I understand things take time but I am surprised that it's been a month without clarity on where documents have been sent read more

Another update, as of EOB Oct 18th: After posting the Oct 17 update, I called HomeShield office and they scheduled a make up appointment Oct 18th afternoon to do the work, and to be done by Marcus himself. However late last night, Marcus replied my text message and said he is out sick and not able to do the work tomorrow. In the morning I called HomeShield office and talked with the manager Carl. He said HomeShield does not do insulation removal. They have to hire a subcontractor. And the price is basically $1/ft2, more than twice what Marcus quoted. Carl said HomeShield was going to honor Marcus quote regardless, and cover the cost difference. He told me that he would follow up for the actual work schedule. Marcus texted me around noon. He said he got management approval for the insulation removal quote before presenting it to me on Thursday Oct 10th. In the afternoon Lewis from HomeShield called, asked about what happened and again promised to honor HomeShield's contract. Later in the afternoon Marcus told me that the earliest date for the insulation removal with the subcontractor would be on November 1st. Needless to say this is very different than the quick turn around that was promised to me. I have to push out the air duct replacement that was scheduled for tomorrow regardless. I promised my tenant for a quick turn around based on the promise from HomeShield. Now I have to eat my words. I may have to find someone else to do the insulation removal. I can't wait till November 1st. I need to my best to keep my promise to my client. This project with HomeShield is turning out to be a big disappointment. read more

We've had a great experience with homeshield. We had a lot of issues with mice and ants and they were able to fully eliminate both. Specifically our technician Joaquin has been great - we had a lot of issues with mice and he was able to fully address the mice issue. read more

We recently had an ant problem inside the house. Dee and Mathew came out to help us. They were very patient with me while I showed them the problem areas, despite the fact that it was after 6:30 pm and I was their last appointment. They stayed for over an hour to make sure the problem was addressed plus they took off all the spider webs around the property. I highly recommend this company as well as Dee and Matthew. read more

I've had a contract with HomeShield for about a year and am very happy with the service we've received. All of the providers that came to our house have been communicative, thorough, efficient and friendly. In the past, we've had Jojo come by (my dog loved her!). We were not home at time of service today, but Jordan was great and communicated via text every step of the way - his ETA, when he arrived, the areas he treated (including specific details) and when he concluded service... at every step giving me an opportunity to give questions or feedback. I have had an account with Homeshield for over a year now. They come out every other month and spray for ants and spiders, indoors and outside. They also put out and maintain outdoor bait stations for rats. They've done a great job and gotten my home's many pest control issues under control. The best part is that any time I call between appointments with an issue (usually an ant trail springing up out of nowhere and invading my home) they come out for free, usually the very next day after my call, and quickly solve the problem. Shout out to Dee, a supervisor who also handled my most recent appointment. He is clearly a master of his craft and of customer service. He constantly went the extra mile without my asking. We found rat poop under our kitchen sink and I immediately called HomeShield. Tevin came out two days later and very quickly found the rats' access point, came up with a multifaceted solution, and put it into action. Tevin took care of everything and made sure I didn't have to touch anything a rat had touched. He will come back out to make sure everything is going according to plan.
