First night in Durango while on vacation I figured we would pick up some pizza for dinner. Decided on HomeSlice Pizza. I am glad I did! Called in my order while I was getting groceries. Ordered a large supreme(can't remember the actual name of it) and a small cheese pizza. My order was ready when I arrived. They had me check it to make sure it was right, and it was and it looked amazing. The price is a little on the higher side, but it's about what I would expect from a non pizza chain place. Went here yesterday for a quick bite before a rafting trip. Just ordered 3 slices from what they had available: cheese, pep, and a pep/beef/mushroom. Super quick to heat it up. Great thin, crispy crust. $2.25 a slice (+ 35 cents per topping). Love an affordable, reasonably priced place to eat! Would recommend and be a regular if lived here! read more

I've had pizza from here a number of times and haven't ever been disappointed until recently due to the excessive amount of cheese that was on the Margherita I ordered. It was as if the pizza dough itself was replaced with mozzarella. Greasy was an understatement not to mention the sheer weight of a single slice was alarming due to massive piles of mozz. I couldn't even finish a slice which was heartbreaking because who leaves something like that uneaten? If you saw the amount of mozzarella, you'd understand. Nothing about our dinner was "wrong" exactly. It's just that nothing was awesome. The salad was fresh enough, but the dressing was bland. The garlic rolls we got were not super fresh and didn't get to us hot enough. I also don't understand serving cold marinara. The pizza was best, but still not anything we'd return to have again. My favorite pizza in Colorado. I've had several of their veggie pizzas. My favorite is Koko's Greek. Its easy to skim on quality in pizza especially veggies. On the Greek the quality of spinach,tomatoes, and kalamata olives were stellar. The garden salad was also very fresh. Cool vibe if eating in with local art. Wait staff is very attentive. Very clean. Highly recommend this pizza joint. read more

I am a local and just remembered why I quit this place. NO PARKING. I don't know how this business made it past the city planners. There are seven spots and a dumpster took up half of a spot, so really six parking spots. At 6 pm on a Tuesday, I wanted to pick up take out during COVID. I circled 3 times. I called them and was told to park in the street which is half of a block away. For a takeout order! They should have a reserved spot or two for take out orders since you are only parked there for 5 minutes or less. Frustrating and not worth the hassle. read more

We ate at HomeSlice when we visited Durango last week. The staff was great! The pizza we had was good. We ordered the chicken/bacon/bbq sauce pizza. It could use more bbq sauce. Seemed like they mixed bbq sauce and regular red sauce together. Garlic knots were great. We had to get a third order! Only a few places to park. Wasn't finished before submitted. I ordered a marg. Bartender filled the pint to brim w ice. Tried to pour in a new glass, it didn't reach the top. For some reason he remixed it ( w more ice) and tried again. This x he put it in another pint glass . He actually tried to put MORE ice in it. I stopped him there. No problem. I'm pretty forgivable. We moved outside, I went back in to have my drink up'd w a little more tequila . I was then schooled on the fact that they use REAL lime juice in their margs. ( thought that was funny because he had not seen what went down w the other bar tender). Long story short, they really rubbed me the wrong way because I was being very polite and respectful, even though they were in the wrong. Ate there for the first time last week. Pizza is not "new york crust" like they say, it is much better, not cracker thin, not Pizza Hut thick but right in the middle. Cheese pizza was great, Margarita pizza was a little "damp" for lack of a better term but was still really tasty. Pizza was not ready when I showed up (they sent me to an empty pizza bag up front) but they apologized, gave me a free drink and it was ready in a few minutes, no biggie. After a long day of driving we decided to order our food ahead of time for pick up as we are visiting the area and just wanted to head straight to our hotel. We arrived to the location to find that the "parking lot" for curbside pick up was smaller than a Starbucks drive thru and since we chose curbside pick up, I put my car in park and proceeded to call the restaurant only to be told the order for two SALADS I placed 30 minutes ago wouldn't be ready for another 10 minutes? At the same time I received a dirty look from an employee motioning to my move my car with a dirty, rude, look on her face. Finally, our $11/each salads were brought out, smaller than a side salad you'd receive at a normal restaurant. No utensils. No bag. The employee just pushed it through the window. That was after one of the guys behind the line asked if the pizza in the warmer out by the bar was mine. No idea how long it had been sitting in there. This is one of my favorite local spots, but just recently i had a terrible experience. I ordered the gyro off their menu and it took more than an hour to cook. Great customer service - friendly, welcoming and food was ready fast. We were going to dine in, but one of the kids started getting sick. I got a small salad & sliced pizza Margarita. Average. The salad bills walnuts in it, there were none. The vinaigrette was good though. Didn't get my order right probably due to the noise & lay out. Slices didn't take long, but quality of pizza just ok, not great. Too much crust on the edges, not enough under the toppings. There is a delicious garlic flavor though. Service with a smile. This place should be called Bar and Pizza. Room for twelve at the bar with only four tables. Parking is behind the building in an alley. Seedy looking characters walking around. Risked it only to find that three of the available tables were dirty. Waited ten minutes, still dirty. Bar full which is the main attraction here. Had the margarita pizza by the slice. Order 5 slices. Every one was as stiff as a board, hardly any cheese, and the pizza was 25% crust. Even my 7 year old says "it's not good to me". Good stuff, right across from the Quality inn, appears to be a local favorite. Nice outdoor-indoor seating and some good brews on tap. We had cheese pizza and Caesar salad.
