I have been going to this shop for over 12 years.(Grafton WI store) Today I called to make an appointment for my wife's car (oil change). Person on the phone answered and I stated I needed a oil change for my wife's car tomorrow if possible. He said nothing but what time. I asked what was available he just kept saying what time...In a very derogatory manner. I asked if he could tell me sometimes and again all he said was what time... I will not every use your shop for anything, I will not recommend your shop to anyone and if asked I will tell whoever asked to go somewhere else. I know I am just one person and this may not mean that much to you, But in today's world this is happening way to often and I for one can not just let it go this time. I called Midas about a concern I had about my car, and Aleks answered. I told him my issue, and he said bring it over, and we will take a look. I took it over, and they were very busy, but Aleks got my car in quickly, checked it out, gave it a test drive, and said everything was fine, and not to worry. I pulled out my card to pay, and he said, that's ok. I have done business there before, and I am always treated extremely well. They are very honest, trustworthy, and do amazing work. I went into get a 4-wheel alignment. The tech asked why I wanted it I told him I was in accident and wanted to make sure everything was aligned. He asked if he could do a suspension check first. Came back and told me I didn't need a alignment everything was good. Midas saved me money and I was impressed they asked about doing a suspension check first. When I bought my car a couple years ago, I was advised to continue going to my dealership for maintenance (this is my second car, but the first one I've owned by myself, and I didn't know any better). I went to my dealership in October 2020 for scheduled maintenance, and they told me my back brakes needed to be replaced, and that my front brakes would most likely need replacing at my next visit. I was charged around $400 to replace my back brakes. I remember driving home from that appointment thinking that I felt no difference in my brakes, but I know it can be harder to feel the back brakes, so I brushed it off. Since then I've reflected on this experience a few times, and each time I thought about it I had this gut feeling that my dealership didn't do what they said they did, or that they lied to me entirely. Today I needed an oil change, and after my questionable experience at my dealership I decided to go to Midas in Grafton, as they're way closer and cheaper. I arrived for my appointment and they checked me in pretty quickly. Justin, the mechanic working today, greeted me and confirmed what I needed done. I told him about my experience at my dealership, and asked if he would take a look at my brakes to see where they're at. He said no problem, and that he would drive my car around the block to see if he felt anything. He did, and after that he brought my car in for the oil change. About 10 minutes later, he brought me into the garage to show me my brake pads. Not only were my brakes in good condition, my front brakes were in better condition than my back ones. How would that be possible if my back brakes were replaced just 7 months ago? He showed me my brake pads, and I could see exactly what he was saying. My gut feeling about my dealership was right. While I'm irritated and embarrassed that my dealership ripped me off, I am so appreciative to Justin and the Grafton Midas team for their professionalism and helpfulness. I've never been to a mechanic shop that has taken the time to show me underneath my car, and made sure all of my questions were answered. They went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of, and just for a simple oil change and inspection. I will 100% be back! read more

I went to Midas because my tire kept deflating. They told me there was a nail in my sidewalk that could not be fixed, and that my tires were bald and needed to be replaced! They gave me a bill for a little under 800$. I decided to go to a local shop for a second opinion and they fixed my leak literally immediately. Midas will tell you they can't fix a fixable leak so that they can make more money. Don't let others take advantage of you! read more

We're from the Chicago area. We stopped at the Costco on the way up to Door County and discovered that the entire back of our car was covered with oil. I looked under the car and saw that there was oil all over the undercarriage. I check the oil level and was shocked to discover that the dip stick was bone dry. I bought oil and added 4 quarts before it registered on the dip stick. Based on the suggestion of someone in the parking lot we headed to Midas. We arrived late afternoon and they accepted our car right away. The mechanic did a good job explaining that it was either a bad oil sensor or a gasket and described to cost involved. Luckily it turned out to be the sensor, which meant that we were out of there in a couple of hours. The mechanic seemed knowledgeable. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience. If I lived around Grafton, I would come here for my maintenance and service needs. read more

The under panel of my car had fallen down and was scraping the ground. I needed to get my car in ASAP in fear of messing the piece up more. The staff member that answered the phone was extremely pleasant, got me an appointment the following day and called me by name during the conversation. Once I got in they were extremely helpful explaining the issue as well as taking me back to the shop to see for myself. They also explained all of my options and not just the ones that would benefit them. Once I decided to just take the part off they did so with no charge to me. I showed up with a coupon for a oil change and tire rotation and walked to get a bite to eat. They kept calling me saying I needed things, new tires, new wiper blades, new belts. An hour later they finally said they were done so I came back to find that they refused to rotate my tires "for my own safety" and charged me more than the coupon said. STAY AWAY! This store will go the extra mile to help you, and not because "Corpo-rats" says so -- the people that work at this Midas in Grafton are genuinely good, decent hardworking and honest people. My truck was making a racket of a klunking noise, from what I thought was a major issue (transmission). I called but they were solidly booked for a week out. I couldn't drive the truck so asked if I could drop it off, and see if they could work-it-in over the next few days. 18 hours later I had the truck back; It turned out to be a relatively minor issue. They could have made up just about anything and charged me whatever they wanted to (just like any brand dealership would). I cannot speak highly enough of this Midas branch, it really is like a throwback to the old days when people had integrity, knew your name when you walked in, and treated you like a member of their own family.
