Today was our first time here. The restaurant was very nice inside and but very small. The wait staff was not very friendly from the get go. I chalked it up to maybe because it was busy and didn't say anything. We waited for a table and were seated fairly quickly but again the wait staff was not friendly. Seemed annoyed or in a hurry. I started to be annoyed but didn't say anything and ordered our food. The food came quick but during the entire time we were there we did not get any refills or staff to come back and check on us. So basically got our food and that was it. The roll was very good. The Hon Ramen had better flavor to me than the spicy ramen. Overall the food was good but not great. When I received my bill, I looked at it and saw they charged me an 18 percent gratuity tax because there was 5 ppl in our party. My 3 year old who didn't even order anything was our 5th person and for that we got charged 18 percent gratuity tax which I did not agree with. We didn't even receive service in my opinion because after we ordered and received our food they never came bak other than to bring me a bill. I will not be returning here. It was not spicy but it did have a lot of flavor and good ramen , ill be coming back to try more ramen . The noodles were at the right texture soft but not hard. Yep this hit the spot for sure. First time trying Hon Ramen! I usually make my own ramen at home but I realized I've never tried any ramen places in town so now I'm out and about!! I was super excited to try their ramen as all my friends highly recommended this place. I got the spicy tonkotsu ramen! It was DELICIOUS. I was just satisfied all around. The broth was yummy, the meat was amazing, and all the veggies were just *chefs kiss*. And a huge thank you to our server Ritchie! We came here with some friends and we had a large party. They still seated us pretty quickly. We ordered our drinks and food when the server came and she was quick to bring out all the drinks. We ordered gyoza, spicy garlic miso ramen, salmon buns, dragon ball, jalapeño bites and egg rolls. Everything was delicious. We will definitely come back for a date night. read more

I have ate sushi all across California, Washington and Colorado and I really think Hon Ramen sushi is the top tier and is able to compare to the finest in those cities. Their servers are always friendly and fast. They have great Asian beer and sake choices. I am all about their octopus balls!!! I always get them for an appetizer (6 pieces) and tell myself to not eat all of them then fail every time! I will admit I think their dinning area is too small and not always so comfortable but they are located conveniently downtown. They always are able to provide lunch service in a timely fashion and parking is pretty easy to find. Their prices are reasonable and have not surged in the current inflation times. I love the vibes they give with their DJ music they play on their TV screens. Their restaurant always seems clean and it is always completely odorless (very important for a sushi place). I always look forward to eating there. read more

So as soon as you walk In you're greeted! It's gets busy so fast! They're playing KPOP and it's not too loud. Their menu is pretty big, but we were a big group! We got 4 ramens and the broth is milky it's so good! The meat is a bit sweet, and it's just so soft and tender.. One thing is that it's not super spicy and you have to pay extra for more spicy but it's still not spicy enough. I asked for chili oil... but only got oil... and I would have to pay extra for the actual one, a little dissatisfying! Especially since I like my sushi with a bit of spice. I have been here quite a few times and I think they have constantly gone better over time. Restaurant gets quite busy especially during the colder months. I usually go for the tonkotsu ramen and I opted for the spicy one this time. I think it had the right amount of spice - nothing too overwhelming but just enough flavor to make it a memorable experience. The chasu was perfectly cooked as always and the broth was delicious. I also ordered some takoyaki and it just never fails. Soft, packed, and the sauce keeps everything together. I have not really tried their rolls but maybe it's good enough reason for another visit. Will be back, for sure! read more

Cozy little spot with a nice ambiance. The customer service was genuinely great--friendly and attentive staff--and the music added a perfect touch to the vibe. We ordered quite a bit: chicken teriyaki, salmon roll, Hon roll, Hidden Dragon roll, shrimp tempura, and egg rolls. Unfortunately, we have to be honest--we just couldn't give more than 3 stars based on the food. While everything was presented nicely, the flavors and overall quality didn't quite meet our expectations. Really good service I'm a very big critique when it comes to ramen and sushi the place was literally 2 block away from my apt so decided to give it a try the ambient in there is very chill they play good music and it smells so good they also have my favorite appetizer (jalapeño bomb), I think I almost cried when I seen the rattlesnake roll (my fave roll) .....it's hard for me to just like any sushi/ramen place but I must say food is 10/10!!!!!! Wow !! The food was amazing ! Didn't think a ramen place good do both sushi and ramen that is just incredible ! The food is definitely 5 stars BUT I have to give this place a 1 star. We come here often so every time I come by myself or my boyfriend and I come here we see the same waitress. A few times she's been okay but most of the time she's very rude and doesn't let you finish your sentences. For example I accidentally ordered a regular veggie ramen and i meant to order the spicy veggie ramen. So I ask her for the spicy sauce and she rudely interrupts me mid-sentence "can I get the spicy-" and scolds me "no you ordered the regular ramen" like obviously???? but if she let me finish my sentence she would know I'm asking for the spicy paste not a whole new ramen bowl.... Which is what she thought I was insinuating I guess.... Well This happened today and honestly I didn't even want to eat there like I originally wanted to because her energy is giving "annoyed" and she talks like it's taking too much energy and effort for her to be nice. Another time I accidentally locked the restroom door just out of habit and the same waitress is scolding me "YOU CANT BE LOCKING THE DOOR" Like my bad??? I'm sorry???? All the other waitresses are super nice and welcoming. It's literally just this one waitress. read more

I have had great luck trying out down town restaurants lately, so I decided to head downtown on my half day off on Friday. I can never pass on Ramen. This is a beautiful, hip place with beautiful lighting and decor. My waitress Jenny was super sweet, my food came super fast. As a self proclaimed ramen expert, of course I ordered the spicy tonkotsu. So the pork was fatty, very well marinaded, I should have ordered extra. The soft boiled egg was creamy and flavorful. The broth was sinfully oily and rich. Overall an amazing experience. Highly highly recommended! read more

We are on the hunt for the Best Ramen in Bakersfield and after eating here today, I have the feeling this place will be very hard to beat. The food we had here today was EXCEPTIONAL. Very happy that we stopped by for an early dinner. We came by on a Thursday at 4:30pm and it wasn't busy. We were seated immediately and our server was very kind. They have a great variety of items on their menu for appetizers, sushi, ramen, ect. We placed our order and within 15 minutes our food was out. We went with vegetable gyoza for an appetizer and it was good! Would easily rate the dish a 8 out of 10. My girlfriend got the MGM roll and it was also very good. Fish was fresh and the roll itself was packed with flavor. Only thing about the roll is that it is massive and awkward to eat. Would have to rate the roll a 8 out 10. I went with the spicy garlic miso ramen and I was highly impressed with my dish. Noodles were of great quality and the flavors of the soup were AMAZING. Easily would rate this dish a 10 out 10. It's a very cute little spot with a cool ambiance. The food service is really fast. Their bowls of ramen are huge and the appetizers are delicious. I recommend if you like spicy to get the spicy tonkutso ramen I got it with pork and it was very flavorful. The other one across from me was the regular chicken ramen and it's good too but I prefer spicy. I don't like bean sprouts so I ask them to remove them. read more

The second you step into Hon Ramen, the amazing smells of food hit you right in the face, and it seriously perked up my appetite more than it already was lol. The beautiful, low light atmosphere of the restaurant is so cozy; the pretty fairy lights make it feel like you're stepping into a new, mini world. Truly makes you know you're in for good food and good service. And how true it is! The server was so nice, and quick to take down our orders. It really didn't feel that long that the server left and brought back our food, so that a big plus from me! Now onto the food: Amazing! The tan ten men ramen was the perfect level of spice, perfect level of savory, and just all around tasty! And for the portion you're getting for the price, I'd say that's a steal! Kaarage was also super tasty, with a satisfying crunch with every bite making you come back for more. And lastly, the Chashu pork bun: unexpected, yet completely delicious. When I thought bun, I thought of steamed bun lol, but fully worth a try! Chashu pork was so tender, instant hit from me. We started with the spicy garlic edamame. It was packed with garlic flavor, which we enjoyed, but the spice came in a powder form. Personally, I would have preferred a sauce-based spice for a more balanced coating. My daughter and I ordered the spicy chicken ramen. I ordered the hard boiled egg and my daughter ordered the soft boiled egg. The broth was flavorful and enjoyable, but I wasn't a fan of the chicken itself it just wasn't my favorite taste. The egg was cooked hard as requested, though it had a slightly sweet flavor that caught me off guard. My husband ordered the veggie ramen with tofu. Unfortunately, his dish arrived with cold tofu, and the noodles were clumped together, which affected the overall texture and experience. We've only had ramen a few times and may not be the biggest fans in general, which could have influenced our perspective. As many times as I have been here. I am DISGUSTED with the customer service I had experienced today and shocked because normally this is not how it is when I have came the past times. I came in today and because I choose to not sit in the "Bar" area, they chose to not sit me they told me they wouldn't sit me after I said I didn't want to sit at the Bar. I watched a couple people of a party of (2) come in after me and be sat right in front of my face. I asked why they hadn't seat me yet, the guy waiter told me because I declined sitting where he wanted me to sit. Several seats were available. This is so wrong it's very wrong to treat a customer who always comes here. I can't believe I even had this experience. I have pictures for proof. Not to mention I am on my lunch break and they had me waiting for 10/15 minutes while so many seats where available but because I chose to not sit in the bar they declined to not sit me. I became a regular customer at this establishment going 1~2 times per week and this is personally the best place for ramen. Food: I always order chicken spicy ramen with a hard boiled egg as well as edamame with garlic and a side of lemon, the broth is not as watery as in other places and each spoonful of it has a rich homemade flavor. Service: Jordaska, Michelle, Ritchie and Jenny have been my waiters and they'll make sure you have a great time. You'll become friends with Ritchie immediately after meeting him and he'll make sure your order is given fast. I've been to every ramen spot in town, as well as some out of town in LA and Santa Clarita, none compare to Hon Ramen. My favorite are the Spicy Garlic Miso and the Spicy Tan Tan Men. Amazing! I'm usually served by Ritchie when I come in and he as well as the rest of the staff are very nice and welcoming. I've tried a lot of ramen and this place has some of my favorite. The spicy tonkotsu is my absolute favorite ramen, but all the ones I've tried have been fantastic. The sushi is also really good, the chef really knows what he's doing and I always feel full after one of the signature rolls. Been coming here for the past 3 years since moving from Los Angeles to Bakersfield & I can say this is the best ramen I have gone to other ones and nothing compares to HON RAMEN , thank you for the hospitality for the quick service and for always making us feel welcome Jen is honestly always on point with our order and memorized it already , the place is nice comfortable and music is always on point very neat place and quick with when needed anything definitely recommend read more

I came in for the first time and was greeted by Ritchie. He was superb as our waiter. 10/10. I had the spicy chicken ramen. The noodles were good, the broth could be a little better. It wasn't spicy for my taste but made it work with plenty of salt, lemon and jalapenos. I also ordered the GMG sushi roll. Now that my friends was DELICIOUS. We've been coming to Hon Ramen for years, and it's hands down one of our favorite spots! The ramen is always flavorful and comforting, and their sushi is super fresh and delicious every time. The staff here are some of the friendliest people -- they always recognize us when we come in and make us feel so welcome. It really feels like a local favorite with a personal touch. This is our second time coming to this restaurant. We absolutely love the ambiance, the staff is very pleasant . Jenny the server is so welcoming , and very friendly. The food is delicious .. Thank you Hon Ramen for always going above and beyond. We used to drive to LA to have Ramen.. Well not anymore. This is our new spot thank you Jenny for making our experience wonderful .
