Have been getting take out from Honest for 2-3 years now. We really like their Dabeli, and vada pav. Their pav bhaji and tava pulav are hit or miss, but when good, are really good. We had a sit down meal here for the first time yesterday. Most of the chaat items were not good and had too much green chutney. The bhel was super soggy with green chutney overpowering everything else. Same with the sev puri. The pani puri water was just spicy without mush taste. We added loads of tamarind chutney to balance it out and make it palatable. It was surprising that a restaurant run by a predominantly Indian crew did so poorly on chaat items. The dosas were good - kids especially liked the chocolate Dosa. The chilly cheese sandwich had zero chillies and loads of green bell pepper. That's not what a chilly cheese sandwich is. This was the most disappointing part of the meal, as I have had their bahubali sandwich before and although quirky, it tasted good. The place is decently managed although they have many contradictory messages like they first told me at the reception that you can order more food at the your table itself later, but then asked me to go back in line when we needed to order more items. Overall, I am not sure we will dine in again or beer too much from the stuff we have liked here before. This is definitely not a chaat place for us going forward. This is the most loved restaurant in entire usa for me. I can go here anytime and order anything I'm always happy with taste and fast service. The menu is filled with amazing dishes that will leave your mouth watering for example Amul butter vada pav, bahubali sandwich and dabeli to name a few. The food doesn't taste good and even the quality seems like it's lacking. I ordered the vegetable cheese sandwich and the rose falooda. The sandwich was huge but so bad in taste, it was so spicy my mouth was burning for ages. I couldn't even eat a quarter of the sandwich, it didn't even taste spicy in a good way. The falooda looked pretty sad, usually falooda has some jelly bits but this didn't have any. Additionally the vermicelli in this was way undercooked. I feel like I wasted my money. We really like the north indian food at Honest and have favorites here like pav bhaji, special pulav, vada pav, pani puri. We have door dashed multiple times , ate in person once and have also placed a catering order where they were able to make my order vegan. Unpretentious place with good food. The reason I am giving 3 stars is to get attention about the amount of one time plastic this place generates. The spoons, forks are plastic throwaway cutleries. The water cups are styrofoam. Likely this is a cost cutting measure? The management should consider stopping this and if needed factor in the cost to use regular cutleries . Thanks! read more

Our go-to place for chats. Love going here even if it is a 40 min drive. Their vada pav is so good that you'll stop missing Mumbai's vada pav. Also love the grilled cheese sandwich, pav bhaji, bhel puri and Gobi Manchurian. The sandwich will remind you of cool joint sandwiches in Bangalore. There's just so many options to choose from. Visited Honest during the pandemic and ordered takeout. While I cannot comment on the safety measures of this restaurant; the food was certainly a delight. The Wada Pav was excellent and hands down the best I have had in the Seattle area. Very close to being authentic Mumbai wada Pav with generous doses of theekhi meethi chutneys & dry garlic chutney. The veggie grill sandwich was good too, I only wish the cheese wasn't in a separate layer, but still tasted good. The biggest disappointment and reason for reducing a star is the "Chinese Bhel". Chinese Bhel served here was NOT Chinese bhel in any way. Chinese bhel is typically made from fried noodles, but what they served here was basically soft Hakka noodles with soy chunks. We love the food at this place and ordered the Channa batura, which is large fry bread with chickpeas. Not too spicy, and very tasty. The second dish was Mumby street food, Vada Pav, the ubiquitous veg burger. Our absolute favorite. Giving the restaurant 2 stars instead of 4.5, because we observed two of the staff in the main kitchen who were coordinating the orders, keeping their masks lowered all the time. There was also one of the cooks (Hispanic guy) making the cheese sandwiches with no mask at all. How can the restaurant post a sign at the entrance saying masks are required inside, but the staff don't adhere to the rules? Real shame, as we like the restaurant a lot. read more

Great taste! We ordered wada pav and honest special pav bhaji. Both tasted really good! The bhaji was topped with cashews and was rich & delicious with just the right amount of spices. This is already my go to place for pav bhaji. I ordered vadapav and dahi poori for a change, and it was so so good. Vadapav is so close to what you get in Mumbai. 100/100 would recommend. For dahi poori. loved how they didn't put dahi or pani in pooris for takeout, and gave it separately (which wasn't too much work to pour over) so pooris weren't soggy (which has been my complaint when I do takeout for dahi poori from other restaurants). read more

Honestly try some cold grilled sandwich... Hearing great reviews, visited on 3/2/23 and ordered "4 layered toasted Bahubali sandwich" with extra spice. Was asked to wait, since order was 'being prepared'. After 20 mins, got the order, but decided to try sandwich in car, since I had an appointment - to my surprise, the grilled sandwich had cold stuffings! Not to mention, extra mild spicy. As usual we placed a take out order, the person taking the order is really courteous. Our order was perfect neatly packed. Cheesy pav bhaji, vada pav , samosa chaat were very good. My main issue was in the Dahi Bhalla Papdi Chaat. The Dahi and Papdi Chaat were good, but the Bhalla was very hard to eat and in some places it was very doughy. Overally everything else was amazing!! If there was 0 rating I would have given that. I ordered chole bathure, sandwich,sev puri, samosa chat & manchurian . Me & my husband thought to try the restaurant because somebody recommended it. They are the worst. Spending 60$ & what i got was .....bhature were totally raw, I don't understand how could the chef served it blindly. It was all leaky & raw dough inside. Went in only once, ordered chole-poori. Was kind of surprised to see poori that looked more like a batura , when asked about it , the lady is said it is a poori just looks like batura... go figure. Anyways, food was pretty mediocre, nothing extraordinary, prices were pretty high around $14 for chole-poori. The quantity was huge (the pooris are big like the size of a typical batura , or perhaps they served me batura instead of the poori). I cannot believe we have not tried this or heard from friends about it, as they have been open for 6 months. We ordered the vada pav (2 pcs), dabeli (2 pcs) and chilly cheese grilled sandwich. After each bite I went wow, Wow, WOW my wife and I are thorough Mumbai bred and they pretty much nailed all aspects of how these snacks should be prepared. Order was prepared fast, the pav you can tell is baked in house, the prices need to go up because they are underselling right now. As a home food business I make vadas at home and they got the right look and a slightly milder taste, so for me this place is leagues beyond the current indian snack joints on the eastside. I've always been a fan of dining in at Honest, their Pav Bhaji is one of the best I've had. But I'm here to write a review about their catering service. Ordered Vada pav, Bahubali sandwich and Pav Bhaji. The Vada pav hype is for real. Loved it, took me back to the vada pav from Mumbai. However I don't understand the hype with the Pav Bhaji. Was pretty bland for me. Nowhere close to the mumbai style one. Bahubali sandwich was huge and filling. I am looking forward to trying the other chaat they have. Being fairly new to the Seattle area, we are always on the hunt for new restaurants to try. One friend recommended Honest as a must try for their vada pav. We happened to be in the area one Sunday afternoon and made our way in here. It is an order and sit down kind of place. We ordered Wada pav, masala pav dry, and veg cheese grill. The service was pretty quick despite the restaurant being crowded. Wada pav definitely lived up to its hype! It came with green chutney, sweet date chutney and a fried green chilly. The masala pav dry was nothing but pieces of pav fried in generous butter with spices. I would recommend to try if you don't mind the butter. Nothing much to say about the veg cheese sandwich. It was the usual cucumber, onion, tomato, potato + green chutney with cheese. It came with a side of spicy chips. If I were to rate the Wada pav alone, I would definitely give it 5 stars. One of the member from our party was wheelchair bound when we visited yesterday. It was seriously disappointing to see a large freezer blocking the path to the restroom which made it impossible for the person in the wheelchair to use the restroom. When it was brought to their attention, the owner started being defensive saying that they already know it is illegal but then how come they did not care to fix this till now. Its the absolute worst, this was the third time I was disappointed by Honest. I gave Honest the benefit of the doubt because I tried it in New Jersey and loved it. Information on their website mentions that the restaurant opens at 11 AM. Showed up at 11:20 AM but was told that the restaurant was opening an hour late. Wasted another 45 mins and went back at 12 only to be told it would be another hour. Returned instead of wasting more time. No information was posted on their website about this time change, though a notice on their front door mentioned it would be opening an hour late.
