I didn't realize how HONEST they are until the end of my almost mistake. found a good deal for a truck on The Big Island. everything was going great. The seller was insisting on a wire transfer instead of a check. Everything was almost done, until Greg was informed that the truck had a reconstructed title from another state. I couldn't be happier with my experience with HCP. Everything was simple and straightforward. Once I gave them my basic info, they did a "soft inquiry" into my credit and told me they could get me a loan at a 2.2% interest rate. I was then instructed to shop around and find the vehicle I wanted and when I had negotiated the price with the dealer, give them a call back. I did so and when I found the truck I wanted, I let my HCP rep know and he took care of the rest. I met up with him the next day, signed the paperwork and he dropped off the check to the dealer. I drove my car off the lot the next day. You know the service is good when the folks at the dealership are impressed with HCP and want their contact info so they can recommend them to future buyers. As I was talking to the finance person at the dealership during the paperwork signing, she told me that going forward, based on what she saw with my purchase, she was excited to have HCP as an option for their customers. **UPDATE AS RESPONSE TO MY FIRST REVIEW** TLDR: Bad experience with high interest rates quoted, unclear and deceptive practices! DO NOT RECOMMEND. STAY AWAY! I'm not going to waste my time further on this - as a Yelp Elite reviewer, I stand by my previous comments and DO NOT RECOMMEND conducting business with Honest Car Payment. The facts speak for themselves - I got a 1.99% interest rate (by myself) whereas they offered me 3.4%+. HCP also touts a "flat rate charge" that isn't told until the very end because of mysterious calculations with no transparency for how this fixed fee is created. I have never spoken to nor conducted business directly with Mary. I only worked with Mark. Mary's third-party observations are inaccurate. HCP only said they did not want to conduct business with me anymore once I told them I'd gotten a better interest rate of 1.99% instead of their absurd 3%+ and had only asked for their help on shipping my car over. Purchasing a used car from a private owner can sometimes be a cumbersome experience, especially if there is still a previous balance owed on the car.... With that being said, that is what i just did. I purchased a used car over Facebook marketplace, the car that I purchased still had a balance owed. Vickie and Mark facilitated the entire transaction. From getting me a lower interest rate for a new loan for the purchase of the car (I was already setup through Navy Fed but Mark was able to beat that interest rate), to paying off the previous balance owed on the car.
