Aric kept checking on us to make sure we were okay and was quite accomodating and didn't mind us ladies being moved into an inside table. Plus, I didn't want to deal with the typical muggy weather anymore. I ordered a frozen Benny Bellini - Peach Bellini to help support a worker who has cancer. The food was surprisingly served fast despite the restaurant focusing mainly on their wedding party guests from their patio. For dinner, I shared bruschetta. Ordered bruschetta for my dinner. Italian Sausage, Roasted Red Pepper, and Goat Cheese Bruschetta; For my 2nd bruschetta: Apple, Fig, Chutney & Brie Bruschetta. My third Bruschetta was House Smoked Salmon and Herbed Cream Cheese Bruschetta. Thankfully, they DON'T skimp out on their ingredients on top of their bruschetta!! Besides the bruschetta, my friend Tina offered me a slice of her Mediterranean Pizza. Thanks so much for the top notch quality food and service!!! My friends had glasses of white wine and I tried their holiday gin cocktail which was perfect for me as it was not too sweet. The server helped guide me to that drink choice. My friends had bruschetta, tuna salad, and grilled cheese with soup. We were able to walk in and easily get a table for 4 as it wasn't too busy. However, it started to fill up and it seemed like our server had many other tables because we wouldn't see her for a while and had to wait a bit for some follow up items. Overall a consistent, good time, and they can do separate checks which is great for a party of friends ordering different things!

Especially the meatballs, garlic knots, wings, and chicken tenders. The pizza is excellent and even the salads have been fresh and really well done. What really makes The Dugout stand out is the people. Sandy and Barrett have created such a welcoming atmosphere and you can tell they genuinely care about the experience. First, we had an unusual wait for a table during what appeared to be a slow afternoon--we watched several parties who arrived after us get seated ahead of us, which felt odd. Second, my medium-rare porterhouse was disappointing. It arrived significantly chewier than my usual experience here, with excessive marbling that made it difficult to cut through. This isn't typical for Texas Roadhouse, so it may have been an off day for the kitchen. I ended up taking most of it home and finishing it on my grill just to make it edible. I ordered the Nashville Hot (spicy) and Hot Honey Buffalo (medium) wings and neither were spicy/had a kick in the slightest. The hot honey wings tasted like there was just honey on the wings, not even a hint of Buffalo sauce. The service was decent; I was constantly looking for our waitress who seemed to want to get us out by the way she dropped the check without a word. Didn't ask how the food was or if we needed anything throughout the meal unless we flagged her down. Upon checkout, they charged our check 2x and the manager Hiro was incredibly unhelpful. It was like pulling teeth to get him to come to our table and we waited an extra 20 minutes to get this situation resolved because he was not coming over. He seemed to just want to get us out rather than actually understand and figure out the issue, which was that the waitress charged us and then he also charged us for the whole meal. After he returned, he said it'll just be a penny hold and was dismissive when we tried to explain the situation. The penny hold was untrue, as both charges were deducted from the account already. At this point we were tired and wanted to leave as we had long finished eating so we requested a refund receipt for the second charge and got ready to leave and wait the 1-3 business days for the refund to appear on the account. He informed us he could not do that/did not have one which was unacceptable and we were not leaving until we got one. He had to get another manager, Jose, to resolve the problem. Jose listened and fixed the issue swiftly and provided us with the refund receipt, I wish he had been the manager that helped at first. Definitely a negative first and last personal experience at BJs, would not recommend this place for service nor food.
