My sweet little hometown...GEORGETOWN! I was born and…read moreraised in this quiet little suburb so my heartstrings were already being pulled as soon as I arrived. I have lived all over the US & even outside of it, but there will always be a soft spot for this area. In the 80s, my mom used to take my tiny self into a local craft shop within this building. Our family went bowling in the old school bowling alley out back (& seems to still be there). We watched Fourth of July parades along this street. I went to elementary and middle school nearby. The area has changed a little but I can still see the beautiful town I grew up in. I was excited to see this picturesque and unique tea shop during my nostalgic trip "home". I haven't walked along Main Street since the late 90s. On the day of my visit, it was a blustery fall day and the rain had just started to fall. My mom, husband and I met Susie, the owner, who warmly welcomed us. We chatted while she prepared our drinks. Loved hearing her story of how she came to own this amazing shop. I could have spent a whole afternoon here easily if I didn't have more places to visit. I ordered an Americano, which was smooth and subtle. I'm quite used to strong espresso so this was a little too mellow for my preference, but I truly enjoyed it on this day. My mom ordered a ginger tea, which warmed her up on a chilly afternoon. This would be such a great gathering spot with friends or to host an event in. Hopefully I'll be able to return soon & pay Hatters another visit.

When we were in the process of losing our soul mate of a dog to lung cancer they would go above and beyond for our random orders and would always try to bring a smile to our face when we would pick it up. She wouldn't eat so we would call & ask for plain unseasoned grilled chicken or just bacon or whatever it was they always helped us out. Her last meal was bacon on the beach (her favorite place). Thank you for the amazing service.

Ya know, I once navigated to this place on accident before? Yeah. Still not sure what my GPS was…read moredoing that day. Because I normally go to the one in Salem. But on this day, I thought to myself, "Self, I really hate making that busy-as-hell left turn on South Broadway in Salem. What if we took a journey to the Andover location instead?" And so it was. I enter this cozy little restaurant carefully tucked against a slightly submerged parking garage. Although, I probably shouldn't say "little" because the interior was noticeably larger than its Salem counterpart. It's also noisy AF in there when it gets busier than a New York subway. So naturally, I ordered my usual to-go (a Country Classic with an extra egg and hashbrowns for those who don't know). Only it wasn't *quite* ready on time. Which, to be fair, is kind of a minor point. Thing is, they have to shout your name whenever your order is finally ready. This in and of itself can prove to be quite the challenge when bellowing atop the already roaring crowd of customers impeding the otherwise accessible pickup shelves. I'll do my best to describe the interior since I wasn't really able to take pictures. But try to imagine an L-shaped dining area with the longest part hosting a row of countertop seats facing the windows. Beyond that sits a rather modest dining area with a few more tables. Next to that sits the gender neutral restrooms. It's strange and cramp, particularly when the place is packed tighter than a sardine can. Sufficed to say, I'm not much a fan of the interior design here. Being the partial recluse that I am, I offer the following best practice for a place so riotous: mobile order that shiz, cuh! Seriously. I had to put in my noise cancelling earbuds to appease my misophonia. The good news is....the food is still awesome. The eggs? Creamier than crème fraîche. Taters? Eh, I don't why...but these seemed way more seasoned the very first time I tried them. Fortunately, they actually pair rather well with their refined version of ketchup. The bacon? Well...let's just say I wish it were served well done. Not sure if I'm able to request that. But I'll scope out my options next time and get back to you all. That's it though. Nice place, WAY easier to get to than its Salem counterpart, but a bit too cramp and noisy for my taste which means....I'll likely ever dine in here. It's all good though, because I'm still giving Crack'd Kitchen & Coffee in Andover 4 Country Classics with all the fixins out of 5.

This thing was BIG. Still IS big, because two of us got nowhere near finishing it. I got the farmhouse (fried chicken, two eggs, sausage gravy...on a very large biscuit) but there are a ton of interesting things on the menu. Next up for me is the Angry Bird - described as "Fried chicken, goat cheese, Korean angry sauce, toasted sesame seeds, gochugaru pickles, kimchi slaw". This is my kind of coffee house. The place is cute - located a bit east of downtown in a small free standing house type building on a corner of a mostly residential neighborhood. Service was very helpful and seemed to deal well with good deal of business. Not a ton of parking I could see but seemed sufficient. Will absolutely return to work my way through the menu. UPDATE: I was so impressed I went back two days later and got the Angry Bird. For BREAKFAST. Their description of this ine is "Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tossed in Korean Angry Sauce, Gochujang Slaw, Pickled Veggies, Sesame Seeds and Creamy Goat Cheese". Yep, for breakfast. How cool is that?!?! Again, we split thid between two of us. Not as huge as the Farmer, but still plenty for us to share. EDIT: Went again two days later and got the Angry Bird (a hot Korean chicken sandwich) for BREAKFAST. This place is awesome.
