    Bison burger

I'm giving this 4 stars because it is way better than it has to be or I expected. Chicken was delicious. Bison burger was also solid.

    Patio dining

After hiking nearby, my wife and I were ready for an early lunch. It was hot outside, so we wanted something a little on the lighter side. There was a menu outside for us to look over, and we each found something that looked good-so we went in. We waited at the hostess station a couple minutes before someone came up and got us seated. We sat on the patio in the shade so we could enjoy the beautiful mountain backdrop. It's a lovely area to dine. Our server was very timid and only came to our table to take our order, drop off food and drop off the bill. I'm not sure if he was having an off day or if he's new, but a little more friendly interaction would have earned Honeycomb a full five stars. He didn't refill our drinks until he brought the bill and he noticed a small error in the order but didn't acknowledge it to us. (He glanced at my wife's plate and saw sausage instead of the bacon she had ordered. He walked away, pulled out his order pad, looked at it and then walked inside.) She ate the sausage, but would have preferred bacon. Now, on to the food itself. Kudos to the chef-if was amazing! I ordered the grilled shrimp and loved every bite of it! The presentation was colorful and appealing. Every bite was delicious and I savored each one. My wife ordered the breakfast and also enjoyed it. The potatoes wowed us both! As we left, I remarked to my wife that I would be craving the grilled shrimp again and would need to return soon.

I can only talk about the bar but the hand crafted cocktails from Megan were delightful and the place had a nice upscale-lodge-aprés-ski vibe without being too in your face LODGE. Megan was prompt and amiable and we will be back!

Came here at 8 pm and the wait was around 30 minutes. Got a seat at the bar instead. We had the most wonderful bartender, Michelle. She was friendly and made sure we liked our drinks, even fixed them. My boyfriend and I both had the best meal during our entire vacation here. He got the venison chops and I got the trout with wild vegetables. The vegetables were amazing. It candied beets, cauliflower, and baby carrots with a garlic yogurt sauce. It was to die for. You could add chicken, steak or trout to it.

    Carrot ginger curry soup

The options are minimal if you are staying in solitude. For dinner this is basically your option for sit down dining. The upside is the curry carrot soup was excellent! We ended up getting a second bowl. The service and soup get 5 stars. The Chile was also excellent with a good meat ratio but minimal spice. 4 stars for the Chile. As far as the main dish, the Bison burger was meh. It was a bit dry and flavorless. The fries were subpar and were a mix of sweet potatoes and regular fries, thin, and had a stale taste. This dish gets 2 stars. The roasted chicken was above average and we did enjoy the sauce. This dish gets 3.5 stars. Overall it's a secluded restaurant in the village at Solitude with a perfect location if you are staying there. Service was great, the food was hit and miss. But the soups were great and so was the Chile. If we come back we would stick to that.

Broken house chips or store bought broken chips

After a day of skiing we popped into Honeycomb Grill. We sat at the bar while deciding what we were going to have for dinner. We ordered the house chips and a glass of wine. The chips were a bunch of broken store bought chips over salted and put in a warmer. We asked to talk to the kitchen manager and he was less than interested to talk to us about the bad product his kitchen was putting out and walked away. If they can't put out a simple order of "house chips" for $8 I was not interested to see what a they would do with a $46 steak. Really bad service - bartender was great- but kitchen needs to be reminded that this is a resort. That visitors are coming to relax and pay a lot of money to enjoy this part of the mountain.

    Flatbread special

We came to Solitude for a ski vacation, and stayed at the Inn at Solitude. Given the small village there aren't many options of nearby places to choose from. This is one of the only sit down restaurant options. We tried their flatbread which was really good, it was on special that night. I ordered the amitriciana pasta which was just okay, it was not made with the traditional bucatini pasta, rather it was served with rigatoni which I wasn't a fan of. The sauce was watery and did not coat the noodles very well. I did add burrata to it that made it better. Two other people in our party ordered the bison burger and boy was that good! The fourth person ordered the quinoa bowl which he said was really good.

Definitely the best food in the canyon. The quality and price of the food is better than Silverfork, the only think lacking is the ambiance.

We met our guide Pam in the village at Solitude where she welcomed us and outfitted us with snowshoes and headlamps for the slightly moderate hike up the mountain to the Yurt. It was so refreshing to hike through the trees and the snow to our dining adventure. Once inside the Yurt chef Andy introduced himself and welcomed us with a glass of bubbles and explained our dining experience for this evening and the menu that he had planned. He was conscious to ask about any dietary restrictions or allergies. The majority of the menu is locally sourced and includes lots of farm to table elements. We started with a plate of fresh breads and cheeses from Beehive Creamery. Next we were served a fresh mixed green salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Then the soup was a potato leek soup with bacon which was so warm and comforting. The main course was a NY Strip Steak in a special cut served atop pureed cauliflower and asparagus. The flavor was amazing. To wrap up our meal we enjoyed some salted caramel ice cream. The only thing that was lacking is the beverage menu. Only water is offered as a beverage. There is a wine and beer list available with options by the glass or the bottle and all at moderate prices which is expected at a resort. They do permit you to bring your own bottle with a modest $35 corkage fee. With this experience being so magical and modestly priced it would be nice to have a few other beverage options "included" in the cost of the dinner. This is an entire dining experience with the snowshoe hike up the mountain, a chef curated meal inside the Yurt and the opportunity for communal dinning with some new folks. The prices for this meal are really the price for the experience. We were celebrating my birthday and what an amazing way to celebrate.

But the service was awful! We walked in around 2 or so for lunch on a Monday. It was crowded. Several staff walked past us waiting at the counter for a seat and didn't say a peep to us. Finally a woman appeared and said she'd be with us shortly. She came back and when it asked if we could sit on the patio she told me it was closed because in the morning it had been cold. It was in the 70's at 2pm?! She sat us at a table next to a support beam and it felt very tight. Chairs were not very comfortable and the table was wobbly. It was very warm in the restaurant and very loud. We sat for 15-20 minute without a single person acknowledging us. I was about to get up and leave when finally a waitress came for our order. My husband enjoyed his Back 40 burger commenting on how juicy it was but expected more flavor. I ordered a Garden salad which was really good. Carrots were huge, tomatoes were yummy and like I said earlier the greens were so crisp and so fresh. My daughter had the chicken tenders and seriously the chicken was so tender and tasted fresh unlike grocery store chicken. The views are amazing!

This shakshouka does a good job combining the silky eggs and smoky chorizo with savory spices, and fresh herbs. Every bite had a touch of brightness. And while crack could be describing the wheat used, it's more likely describing the addition to it. We also had the halloumi with hot honey. The cheese has a firmness the gives easily to a forks edge and the flavor is mild that held up well to the sweetness of the honey. They could have been a little more generous with the honey, not a complaint, just an observation ;-). It's an excellent breakfast cheese without overwhelming the palate.

The service here was fine.. nothing noteworthy. We ordered cocktails, but did not care for them. The duck was unique, but it was a very small portion of meat. This meal is mostly bread and veggies in sauce with small pieces of duck (think pulled pork). The Cacio e Pepe was shockingly expensive and insulting for this pasta dish. For that price we were expecting a large dish with a wow factor, but it actually lacked flavor. For parents with children, I will also note that this is not a convenient place to come with small children. If you want to go to the restroom you need to leave the restaurant and go outside and across a hall to a more public restroom (it was clean), which is less than convenient with little kids. They don't have a kids menu either, it's just verbal, but they did have a few basic options (my kids had pasta).
