I really liked that you order on a kiosk, its easier to take your time and decide what you want. I ended up creating my own stir fry bowl with brown rice, tofu, some veggies, and the sesame garlic sauce. It was so good! I thought it was the perfect amount of food for the price, around $10. The one thing I wasn't crazy about was that picking up my order was a little confusing. They called my name, but there were multiple orders on the counter with no reciepts showing names or anything, and everyone was busy filling other orders, so I just had to figure out which one was mine. I wish it was a little more clear. But the food was delicious so I'll certainly be back regardless! read more

First time in any honeygrow tonight. I went with friends, we chose it in an attempt to eat clean this month. The store itself is hip, clean and bright with sheetz/wawa style ordering screens. I made my own salad with kale and zoodles, tofu, a good number of veggies and goat cheese with Green Goddess dressing. I appreciated the list of locally sources ingredients on the wall. The order came quickly and looked delicious. The ingredients themselves were all fresh and most of them tasty and crisp (notably the beets, zoodles and cauliflower). I was disappointed in the tofu which had no identifiable seasoning and the dressing which was notably bland. I ended up adding sriracha in order to give some salt and flavor to the dish. All in all I appreciate the freshness and healthy options but I recommend working on increasing flavor intensities. read more

honeygrow: home of customized salads, stir-fries, and fruit-honey desserts. A lot of people love this place, which is a chain eatery based out of Philadelphia. I personally...think it's fine? honeygrow is not bad by any means, but it's not my go-to for lunch or dinner, either. And I think that's due to a combination of the public perception of honeygrow plus my personal meal preferences and goals. Here's what I mean by public perception: a lot of people seem to like honeygrow because the menu looks and sounds healthy. Green salads, stir-fry bowls with vegetables and brown rice, desserts featuring fruit...that all sounds great. And credit where credit is due: it all tastes great, too, at least in my experience! That said, researching their nutritional info reveals a little more about what you're eating here. Their limited standard menu items feature anywhere from 480 calories a dish to 900 calories a dish. (I'm assuming, of course, it's per dish, and that one order is one serving...which, as bloggers have pointed out, might be a bad assumption on my part.) And those are just the numbers on the point-and-order menu. Most orders here are presumably personalized. That means it's really up to us to take the time to add up the numbers, to understand the numbers, and ultimately determine how healthy our orders really are. The result is that it's way too easy (for me at least) to feel like I'm eating right just by eating here. Don't get me wrong: I don't dislike honeygrow. Again: their food is tasty, albeit on the pricier side. But in the interest of eating right more often than not, honeygrow has become an occasional tasty treat for me, rather than a regular go-to. That approach feels better for my waistline AND my wallet! Final score is a 3.5; while I clearly don't think honeygrow is perfect (and would love to see an expansion on the standard menu focused specifically on low-calorie meals), I also enjoy my visits here. The food is tasty (and it's easy to personalize something to get just what you're craving), the staff are nice, and the eatery offers very convenient to-go ordering options (i.e. Grubhub, via the ordering stations in honeygrow itself, etc.). So they are ultimately a decent place to grab some grub if you're in the area. honeygrow never fails to put a smile on my face. I typically get carry out since it's close by, but the last time I got delivery. The inside is pretty modern with an easy touch screen order service. These days you can order on their app and food can be brought out to the car. As far as the food, I think it speaks for itself. All the fruits and veggies just taste so fresh. You can tell they use quality ingredients to make the bowls and other items. I'm typically a build your own bowl type of person, but they do have a good amount of classic bowls. You really can't go wrong with anything that you order here. I pretty much try a new kind combination every time I go. Highly suggest doing the same. Be back soon! read more

I stopped by here this past Sunday with my wife for lunch. We were looking for a place nearby our location for lunch whenever I consulted Yelp and noticed that Honeygrow was nearby and that I had it bookmarked. So we headed on over. It is located right on south highland street and the inside is bright and modern. The tabletops are made of stainless steel and you walk up to a monitor in order to place your order. They have a selection of stir frys and salads, all of which at least sound healthy. For lunch on this day my wife went with the Chesapeake crab stir fry while I went with spicy garlic stir fry and substituted in whole wheat noodles for the egg white and also added some jalepenos for spice. So that means my stir fry consisted of chicken, whole wheat noodles, pineapple, jalepenos, bell pepper, broccoli, onion, parsley and the spicy garlic sauce. My food here ended up being quite tasty. The fresh noodles had a nice bite to them while the jalepenos and sauce added a spice and the pineapple added some sweetness. Meanwhile the chicken was a perfect canvas for the sauce and provided some protein and the rest of the vegetables helped to make my meal feel healthy. My wife also enjoyed her meal and told me that they added the perfect amount of Old Bay to it. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I have to say that I don't like salads, and I don't really like American Asian food much either. However, I was convinced enough by recommendations and by the reviews to give this place a try. Especially during these COVID-19 times, getting a bunch of fresh veggies for a salad sounded wonderful. I got one of the signature salads with beets, wheat berries, feta, and spring mix. I don't know what dressing was on top, but it was actually pretty good! There was a lot of salad for ~$10, and ordering online was very easy. Once I arrived at the store, I replied to a text confirming my order, and a server came out to my car and dropped off the salad within 2 minutes. I didn't even have to get out of my car! Stopped in for the first time with a friend earlier this week. I liked it so much that I ended up getting delivery a few days later. Ordering is contactless at a touch screen. As it was my first visit, I was a little overwhelmed by the Create Your Own, but just went for it. I loved all the veggies you could add to a noodle dish. Dine-in is very tiny - just a couple of tables, but seemed adequate for lunch time. Staff was very friendly. They were out of a few things (mainly drinks) and were very helpful with new options. My delivery service was good, but I thought it was much better when I ate there. So I'd definitely dine-in if you are comfortable with that. Food - The salad was very fresh which is my biggest thing when it comes to ordering a salad out. When placing a mobile order there's a lot of room for customization which is nice! Service - While picking it up my friend and I kind of just popped in and grabbed our bag which was easy and required no interaction, but the employees still greeted us! Taste: I ordered the spicy garlic noodles over Postmates and the taste was great and well balanced with the veggies and chicken. I love stir-fry noodles and this one didn't taste or feel as oily and greasy as other stir-fry noodles! Service & Preparation: Did not include utensils in my order (and no option to on Postmates) so I had to go out of my way to find a fork and to enjoy the food. I also wished there was an option to add extra hot sauce on the side. I really wanted to like this place because I work close to it. It serves fresh stir fries as well as salads. I wanted to try some of the stir fries as it sounds like an appetizing meal. The first visit I tried one with beef. You could tell the dish was fairly fresh, but the beef had an appalling taste to it. Almost as it had been stored in some bizarre way; it tasted old and like chemicals. I decided to try it again yesterday. I ordered a tofu dish with coconut curry. This was very disappointing: I was expecting a lot more sauce. Small bits of tofu were not appetizing-- I do not even think there was seasoning. I was excited for the cilantro; however, I only tasted it once. The service was also not my favorite. When entering, the whole staff just glared at me without smiling or greeting me. I was confused because I did not realize you had to order on the screens, but no one bothered to mention this. When going up to pay (because I paid with cash), the lady almost seemed annoyed to have to ring me up. Overall, I was quite disappointed with a place I thought I would enjoy. read more

Second time ordering honeygrow but unfortunately, I was disappointed in the overall quality of the food. I ordered a make your own tofu stir fry bowl and it just wasn't as flavorful as I had expected. The tofu lacked flavor and the texture was not crispy at all. I wish they offered spice level options. My stir fry also had a fishy flavor even though I ordered a vegetarian bowl. Maybe one of the sauces or flavoring they used had a seafood ingredient but this should have been indicated more clearly on the menu. The first time I tried honeygrow I would have given it a 4 stars, but after this last experience, I probably won't be back. It is fairly overpriced for the quality of food I received, although it does have a cool trendy interior. They did however make ordering online/in store for take out easy! read more
