I am surprised to see some of the negative reviews from recent visits because I had an amazing experience end to end when my coworker and I came for lunch last week. The restaurant was a little busy but I feel like we waited about 10 minutes after placing our order. This place makes it easy to order providing preset menu options or the ability to make your down. Honestly home of the menu items were a little more adventurous so I stayed away from those because that would be a deal breaker for someone trying for the first time. I went with the "safe" option and got the spicy garlic with chicken stir fry. It was a tad bit salty but overall delicious, a good portion of noodles, meat, veggies, and sauce. I'd definitely get it again as it hit all the flavors. My coworker did a CYO and that came out really good too. The menu offers a variety of ingredients so you reeally get your money's worth. Now that I've had it once, I'm going to come back for the salads and even try one of the more adventurous options. Can't wait! Would highly recommend for all. The positives: My precocious (almost) 7 year old and I visited earlier today. He was intrigued by the artwork on the walls, and totally satisfied with his "kids meal" that includes more than the adult selections. He really loved the lemonade options. I enjoyed my garlic chicken noodles tremendously. Was not a large portion, but quite tasty and well prepared. My lemonade selection was quite satisfying as well. Prices are very reasonable. Selections are abundant. Decoration is nice. And the place is clean. Location is good. A few minutes walk from the Reston Town Center stop on the new silver line metro. The critique: Service is not terribly bad. But not extraordinary by any means. I don't love the kiosk style of ordering. It presented some measure of challenge, and the staff wasn't going out of their way to be helpful. It almost felt like a newly opened spot that hadn't yet trained everyone. I recommend this place highly for young people, high school and college age. They don't really need the help with technology, nor are they very impressed by great customer service. To be honest based on the prior reviews.. I was not expecting this place to be good at all. I was pleasantly surprised! Maybe I got lucky, or maybe they have truly sorted out the issues that some commenters before me attributed to possibly being a new restaurant, but whatever the case this is a great lunch spot. I love the ease of ordering and then if you're dining in they text and call your name when your order is complete. No paper receipts is also an eco-friendly plus! I can only speak to the rice noodle "create your own" stir fry that I had, but as far as a quick, easy, and relatively healthy lunch option it was perfect. The veggies were fresh, tofu was cooked well, and the sauce was spicy without being overpowering. The cashews and cilantro added a perfect finishing touch to my bowl and I'd definitely order the same again. Parking was right out front, my group ordered, ate, and made it back to the office in our allotted lunch hour, and it wasn't an overly expensive meal for this area. Good value for the price. Yum yum yum - why have I wasted so much time NOT eating here!!??? The food is high quality and super fresh! The restaurant is kept extremely clean and the people who work there are friendly and responsive. My first night there I got the wrong salad in my order and figured it out by the time I got to the parking lot. I went back (after trying to talk myself into just eating this one but cilantro tastes like soap and there were a few other dislikes in the salad I got as well). So I went back and the employee was sooo nice and apologetic, quickly made my salad, offered me the salad by mistake AND gave me a coupon for the trouble. My kids also love this place! To preface this update, I've been to this location several times and never encountered this issue before. I did my homework, looked at the ingredients, and even searched reviews about others perceptions of the spicy garlic stir fry. Last night I went to Honeygrow. It was 8pm and all I ate the entire day was a measly granola bar. I was hangry and about to eat the chair as I waited 10 minutes for my food. There was one man waiting and a women who walked in 5 minutes after me. It's noteworthy to mention she also got a stir fry (watched her order it on the screen) and she got her order at the same time I did. So I'm not sure what happened to make my spicy garlic stir fry so unbearably spicy it's inedible, but something happened. I didn't make any modifications to be sauce and only added mushrooms (not spicy!). As I start to scarf my noodles I start sweating and realize my mouth is on fire. SO SPICY. let me state for the record - I love spicy. I get spicy drinks, hot wings, etc. The amount of heat generated from the spice on this was intense and I could not eat more than 1/3 of my meal. I ate that much mostly because I had scarfed it so fast I didn't realize it. Needless to say, I ate another granola bar and went to bed. Tossed the noodles into the trash where they belonged. What a waste of time and money. I gave this review 3 stars since I've never been disappointed by this company before... but The review for this item deserved one star at best. read more

My coworkers and I have gotten lunch here a few times, including 2 large takeout orders that were placed online for pickup. A few of us have gotten stir-fries once or twice, but all of us definitely preferred the salads in the end. My first time ordering in-store, I came in around 11 AM and it was empty. This might've also been pretty soon after they opened so word might not have spread yet. When I went to pick up our large online orders several weeks later, it was a lot busier; once we ordered for 12:30 pickup and the place was absolutely packed. As with most places, the closer to the lunch rush hour you placed your order the more likely it was they'd miss something in at least one of the orders. The 1 time we ordered for 12:30 pickup I did notice some toppings were missing from my salad, but the other times I came here when it was less hectic, my order was correct. The salads are pretty generously sized and there are tons of toppings to choose from. I usually do the create-your-own but my coworkers have said good things about the seasonal summer watermelon salad and the cobb salad. One of my usually salad-hating coworkers actually likes the cobb salad, and prefers it to getting stir-fry. If you order online, you get $5 off the 1st order. All the staff I've interacted with in-stores were friendly, and the touchscreen ordering system in stores is pretty easy to use. Salads run about $11-$15 depending on what you get and what you add. I love this place. Its kind of similar to a Chipotle or a Cava type place where you choose a base, protein, toppings and a sauce and then they make it up for you. You can get a salad or stir-fry. I've only ever had the stir-fry and sometimes get two types of protein, usually shrimp and steak. When I first came here I thought I wasn't going to like it, but I love it. Its a great mixture and the chefs do such a great job of cooking it all together into a tasty dish. They also have a dessert called the honeybar and its a mixture of a flavored honey, and other toppings. I usually create my own with a mix of fresh fruit, granola, a flavored honey, nuts and whipped cream. Its somewhat healthy minus the honey, but its a good dessert and nice complement to the main dish. I've come to love getting food from HoneyGrow and frequently will order online and pick up. Its close to my home and I can be there in a few minutes after ordering. Haven't eaten in, in quite a long time but the wait is pretty short from order to it being ready and delivered to your table (pre-covid). This place is PHENOMENAL!!! I have some tricky-to-navigate and very-serious allergies to alliums (onion, garlic, shallots, etc.). I know, that sucks right?! What sucks more is when you find a place that had an easy enough menu to moderate, and they don't take enough care. Like, my throat will try to close if I eat these ingredients... Anyways, I was going to order on DoorDash, so I had to call first because I've never been to a HoneyGrow, and just moved to Reston. I spoke with Marissa -- she was a DELIGHT! She made sure to talk me through some of the ingredients and we came up with the right sauce for me (the 5 spice one doesn't have onion or garlic). Sooo exciting! I ordered a CYO stirfry and a fruit dessert bowl. When my order arrived, it had the sweetest note attached. All of their proteins are usually cooked with garlic, however, they saw the note about my allergy and cook my protein with just salt & pepper, AND invited me to call ahead anytime so that they could continue to make my food with care. I could cry right now! Also, they have no idea what they've signed up for, because I will likely order honeygrow multiple times per week. Sooo exciting! Thank you to this team! My review is solely based on their dessert item "Honey Bar" : First time here and I was expecting a lot more for $6.10 , than just the toppings I had selected and tossed into a cup. I imagined it would be a lot like yogurtland / Pinkberry (do they even have them here on the east coast?) regardless , it ended up being a dried assortment of fruits and there was no honey, trace and or taste of honey in my cup. If you want to add yogurt it cost you an extra for that premium topping , I believe $0.75 ontop of the $6 you are already paying. To summarize my review, the cup is very small for what you are paying and it taste very dry since there is not type of yogurt/liquid other than what the strawberries drop. We've been here a few times now for pickup. Ordering on the app is easy, and the food is usually ready and waiting by the time I can drive over. Our daughter loves the Parmesan noodles kids dish. I got a custom rice noodle bowl. It was literally 90% noodles, 5% chicken, 5% add-ins. There were only 4 pieces of chicken in my entire bowl! Also, I paid extra for a second sauce on the side but it was missing from my order. I also paid extra for pineapple but only had 3 chunks! It's a shame because the flavor was actually pretty good. Honey Grow is a quick choice for a healthy stir fry or salad meal. The concept is order custom dishes yourself using a touchpad kiosk. There is very limited human interaction before your order is done. I like how most items in the menu can be changed to what you prefer. They have vegetarian, gluten free and Vegan choices. I had the spicy garlic bowl with chicken. The sauce (which is customizable) was really good and it was spicy. There is a small outside dining area right next to the parking lot out front. It is nice to be able to sit outside on a good day- it was pretty cold indoors. They have their own cold pressed juice which is very natural and without added sugar. It can be an adjustment for those not used to unsweetened drinks. I would like to come back and try the Chesapeake Blue Crab stir fry (here only for the Summer). read more

Left her a message and never heard back. Email her and she said she can't do refunds and has to ask corporate which takes 3/5 days. What type of place just takes your money. Embers better, wait a week and still no refund. Email again and they say some processing error (thanks for telling me) and it's fixed now. Well it's been a month. Still no refund! Update as of June 2019: I have been a regular of Honeygrow since it opened here. I love the concept of Honeygrow, and from what I understand the ones in Philly area are great. But this one just misses the mark. It's typically dirty (tables not wiped down, food on the floor) even if it's only 5pm. The stir fry used to be burnt a lot but now is just okay. Honestly I can cook the food at home. I have written in on their website once before when I had a bad experience. I received no response. Today I wrote in but honestly don't expect a response. So here I am on Yelp. I can't make excuses anymore (for the long wait, the lack of cleanliness, the lack of shift leader or manager on site to solve issues). I won't be returning. read more

The workers were confused because my name is Brie and another patrons name was Brittany so they kept repeating both our names over and over again trying to get our orders correct. The service was so slow. I got the text that my order was ready and when I went up to get it I was told "The computer does that sometimes. I'm dealing with Alicia's order right now then yours." Wow I did NOT ask for all of that info. Also the computer does not "just do that sometimes" you marked my order as ready when it wasn't to get it out of you queue and you know it. My wife and I visited this location since we were in Reston and love the food in Rockville. The place is extremely cold. My wife is frozen and normally I'm fine but it's sooo cold as to be very uncomfortable. Waiting on the food and may have to eat in the car. We mentioned it to the staff and they said the heat was on but after walking around every vent is blowing cold air. Next they made our dessert but never made our food. No other customers are waiting. After 20 minutes with NOBODY AT THE COOKING STATION, we asked the manager nicely for a refund since we simply didn't have anymore time to wait having to get food somewhere before picking up family at the airport. Justin, David said the cooks were on break and REFUSED a refund saying it would take weeks to get our money back and that that was company policy. Really? Payment in advance of cooking food is expected. Immediate reimbursement is expected if the food isn't delivered. David forced us to take a gift card or nothing! We want our money back, food was NOT delivered and nobody was even working to do so. If this is policy, it needs addressed. As for the freezing cold and managers attitude, training or removal is warranted. Customers have a choice and don't deserve to be treated this way or have there money not returned. read more
