I'm not sure how to rate this Chinese restaurant. It is cheap so adding an extra star. Minimal dining area with lots of clutter, they store a lot of their stuff in the front. Service is quick and attentive, food was on par for fast food and I have not enjoyed any other Chinese restaurants in Spanish Springs. The styrofoam plates and single use plastics is a turn-off but I guess that's what is easiest and somehow better for them financially. Competition out here is low so oddly enough this is my favorite Chinese restaurant out this way. read more

Quick and locally owned. Typical to go Asian fast food restaurant. The inside is not organized for you to comfortably eat there. Tables are loaded with dry goods and stuff. Faded pictures are on the outside windows to show possibly what the food is to look like. Egg rolls were filled well and were crispy. House fried rice only had beef strips in it. Lots of rice!! Chicken Chow Mien had large chunks of chicken and lots of onions and bell peppered. General chicken was fried nicely but not a lot of spice. Grab your own condiments on the way out. read more

Stopped in for christmas eve takeout. Service and food was ready fairly quickly which was nice. Unfortunately the food was a bit lack luster. We ordered the wonton soup, crab rangoon, broccoli beef, sesame chicken, pork chow fun, and steamed rice. First off, we got home and realized they forgot our steamed rice. The flavoring of everything was okay. However, the chicken felt overly breaded, like there was more breading than chicken in some pieces. Also the sesame flavoring did not taste like your typical sesame chicken and barely had any sesame seeds. The chow fun noodles were mushy and overly soggy. The other items were just okay. parking may get crowded near the business, but plenty of parking far away fast food chinese food in a plastic plate if you dine in cant expect much from a fast food it is mediocre ordered sweet and sour pork, the pork were circle balls battered and drenched in sweet and sour sauce not so pleasing and in terms of flavor ordered the pepper shrimp, flavor was better than the sweet and sour pork, however, it only came with four tiny shrimps which was sadness chow mein was probably better than both imo not the best chinese food affordable and quick, but quality and presentation is meh read more

Stopped in here for a quick dinner with my wife a few weeks back. They are presently only doing take-out but its super fast. You can order in person or by calling. They have ala cart options or individual meals where you can get multiple sides and fried rice or chow mein. We've returned a couple times, its reasonably priced, clean & very fresh. It certainly far exceeded our initial expectations and it'll probably be one of our go-tos. My biggest complaint is that I wish they exercised a little more covid precautions. They require masks and are only doing takeout. The potential issue i see is that all of their condiments & silverware are out in the open for customers to grab. I had to reach into a bag to grab napkins. Obviously this hasn't stopped me from returning but its definitely something that jumps out and may be an issue for some. They told me today that they have some gluten-free sauces that can be ordered ala cart. We haven't tried it yet but will update when we do. read more

I was craving Chinese food and just pulling back into town for what was supposed to be one night (long story). Anyway, I remembered eating here (takeout actually) quite often before having to go gluten free. Now that I can eat gluten if I have my enzyme pills, I couldn't get Hong Kong Express out of my mind tonight....lol It's just past my neighborhood and was always a simple place to get takeout...no fuss, etc. It turns out that it is the same! Yay for us! We ordered our own "buffet" for home and even though we got A LOT of food... we were starving, but surprise: there is still some left... but not a whole lot. I especially recommend their Seafood Egg Foo Young, House Chow Fun, and Garlic Chicken. My son loves their Chow Fun, most of their seafood dishes we have tried, and their different appetizers. Hubby likes their Mongolian Beef and most of the rest we have ever had. I didn't get any pictures, because we were all starving and it totally slipped my mind until it was over....lol... but trust me. It was really good! ;) Good customer service, takeout is always packed well, and they are quick (unless they are swamped... usually with just takeout orders, though). Everyone seems to leave with at least one or two completely full bags, so we probably aren't the only ones creating our own Chinese Buffet at home. read more

I love this place. Been going since I was a kid and they have the best rangoons and best chow mein of anywhere! Always fresh, hot, and tasty. I have eaten food from several quick service Chinese restaurants (such as Panda Express, China Diner) and Hong Kong Express is one of my favorites. I frequently order food for pick-up and it usually takes about ten minutes. Some of my favorite dishes are Garlic Chicken, Chicken Chow Mein, Potstickers, and either the Shrimp or Chicken Fried Rice. The Beef and Broccoli as well as the Sweet and Sour Pork are also very good. The staff provides quick service, and they are family owned and operated so you see familiar faces every time you go in.
