Went in on a Monday just before lunch. Place was empty not a sole except the server and a cook. Service was amazing, knowledgeable staff that explained the menu. Got the all you can eat dim sum, portions were big, everything tasted amazing. This place is super cool inside, great atmosphere. Would go again if ever in Reno/Sparks again.

The beef we got had a nice kick to it, but the flavor was messed. They had no one inside. I bet if they had regular customers. The food would be even better. The shrimp dumpling amd the shu mai were pretty goof..I would rate thay as a 4 for reno. They furniture keep the place spotless. When I went there the staff member was even cleaning the windows and the waiting area seats. The cashier was super helpful and super friendly. She said to get the eff custard bao fried next time, but must be eaten fresh. So take out won't work. It was pretty good, but could tell it was probably steamed a little bit ago. The price is decent. About average for dimsum amd asian cuisine. They should do special events or host holiday things to get more attraction to them. Would help drive in members. Like a moon festival set or new years set. People love those and must be reservations. If they advertised this gs like that. I bet the community would love to experience that. Overall its not bad Would go again, but we rarely eat out. Also there's plenty of parking , just beware those people coming from the backside. They tend to speed a little.

Came back for a second time today to try some different items on their menu. We were sat immediately and we got to choose where we sat. Started off with some fried chicken pot stickers followed by ribs. Pot stickers were really good and the sauce on the side was delicious. The ribs have a bit of bite to them but not too spicy. They were pretty good but I don't know if I'd order them again. Just personal preference. My main meal was the black and pepper beef with steamed rice. Delicious! It had the perfect amount of pepper and sauce. Everything comes out fresh, hot and quickly.

Pretty solid local option for take-out. We did not dine in on this visit, but the dining room looked lovely. The only drawback for me was upon my initial impression, they forgot 1 item, almost 2. The gentleman than greeted me had a plastic take-out container in his hand when I said I had an order to go - turns out that was my mandarin chicken, and it wasn't in the already tied to-go bag for me. When I got to my car, I decided to check, and learned my hot & sour soup had also been forgotten - but at least I was still in the parking lot. We ordered a ton of choices for our family of 4. Hot & sour soup, house chow mein, mandarin chicken, lotus rice, Phoenix paws, shrimp dumplings, and sesame balls. Kids loved the house chow mein, sesame balls are always good, shrimp dumplings were very good. Phoenix paws weren't our favorite - good flavor not not our favorite texture. Hot & sour soup is prob some of the best we've EVER had, and I'm super glad to have Caie in our neighborhood as we approach winter for good soup! Overall, aside from almost leaving without a couple of items, I think all entrees should include steamed rice, especially when the order tops $100, but I guess that's not the case. I think we'd like to return for AYCE dim sum, and that hot & soup will be a chase the cold away staple for sure!

This is the second time we ate at this location. The first time received five stars due to the exemplary service we received. This time the food took much longer to arrive and our appetizer was delivered well after our main dish. This was disappointing. Hoping they might comp it, but they did not. With that said, the food was still just as good as the first time. This time we ordered the peppered beef. I prefer the tangerine chicken, but this was good as well. The restaurant was clean and spacious. They also offer karaoke nights if that's your thing! We will return again in the future in hopes of better service and timely appetizers.

We decided to come for lunch on a Wednesday after an appointment. It was not crowded. They barely opened. Food was not too great today. There was no one but us. It was pretty quiet and no lunch crowd.

I went in with family around noon. It's quiet Afternoon, with couple of groups of people, but it took a while for the server to take our order. we had one person walk over to the cashier to place the orders. Sorry no picture this time, Grandma at the table .... Respecting the elderly... no phones at the table. We ordered hargow ( shrimp dumplings) , phoenix paw ( chicken feet) I'm not a fan of chicken feet, didn't bother eating it, peppered tofu, egg custard buns, shu Mai , sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf ( my favorite , I had 2 of these, ) shrimp Chang fen , not too bad, little soggy, could been better, walnut shrimp and chow mein. The chow mein is little salty, I added sweet and sour sauce to help with the salty taste.

Update: I'm happy to report happier times here. I've been back a few times for lunch since I was working nearby recently and I'm glad I gave them another shot. Dining area was clean along with their restroom. They've made some changes for the better. Simpler menu, wait times have improved and their service as a whole is better. Chinese food is a guilty pleasure of mine and I'm glad I gave this restaurant another shot. Their prices are reasonable and their food is served hot. Lately with my cheat meals, I'll stop by here and order chicken chow mein to get my fix. I've tried their lunch specials as well. It's a great deal and worth checking out if you're nearby and in the mood for Chinese. I look forward to returning in the near future.

Crab Rangoons

I really liked this place. The staff were really nice and the ambiance was inviting. Our food was really good too! The Rangoons were my favorite. I like that it didn't taste like straight up cream cheese. Really unique flavor. This will definitely be a new spot in our rotation when visiting Reno.

I feel like is ok basic dim sum. The price for all you can eat $30/person is steep. Not much items for the all you can eat dimsum. I added sticky rice but it was additional not part of the all you can eat. Items that are, is Chinese not dimsum. But over all. If you don't want to drive over the hill...ita ok. The soup was too spicy for me to eat but came out fresh.

Jessica P.

Wonton soup had great flavor with plenty of noodles and wontons. Simple, comforting, and really satisfying. Would definitely order it again.

Well, we just moved to the area and was driving around and found this spot, as we were walking we were kind of skeptical because it was dinner time and there was literally NO ONE in the place, we all get that feeling of "I wonder why there is no one here, is the food bad, service bad?". We sat down they were promptly to our table getting our drink order, then they took our appetizer order and main course order. Services was great. We had the calamari for appetizer, which was pretty good and crispy, I like mine less chewy but that is just my preference, was still really good. I had the honey walnut shrimp, this can be a hit and miss at places and this was actually really good, great flavor. I hear the Dim Sum is really good here, will try next time!

Char Siu (BBQ Pork) Bao (3 pcs)

Decided to finally check this place out for some dim sum after hearing mixed things. Ordered a spread of the usual suspects: har gow, siu mai, chicken feet, steamed rice noodles, and char siu BBQ pork buns. First off, the flavors in the har gow and siu mai were definitely on point, but the textures? Not so much. The siu mai was super tender, but the filling had that overly smooth, almost springy bounce. It wasn't bad, just... very uniform. Every piece was nearly identical in size, which made it feel a little too "perfect." If you've had dim sum from those bigger chains, you know what I mean. The har gow was a miss for me. The wrapper was thick and slightly gummy, but also fragile enough to fall apart the second you touch it. That usually means it's been steamed too long, and it didn't give me that delicate bite I expect. It worked in a pinch if you're looking for something quick and savory, but it wasn't great by any means. Chicken feet, though? 10/10. Seriously, this was the dish that stood out. Sweet with just the right amount of heat. Texture was on point, and you could tell they put more effort into this one. Felt like the real deal. Now, the steamed rice noodles were a bit of a letdown. It was missing that rich soy sauce flavor that brings this dish to life. The shrimp inside were small and, frankly, didn't have that juicy bite you expect from a proper shrimp noodle dish. The char siu BBQ pork buns were probably the biggest disappointment. These were the steamed variety, not the golden-baked style that I love. The filling was minimal basically just dough and the ratio was all wrong. Way too much thick dough, and barely any meat or flavor. Felt like a missed opportunity, honestly. Overall, this spot feels more like a production-driven, high-volume operation than a small, authentic dim sum house. It's not terrible by any means, but there's a definite focus on consistency over craftsmanship. I actually found out after the fact that the restaurant is connected to CaiE Foods, a dim sum manufacturer that supplies places like casinos and hospitals. That explains the uniformity in the dishes, but it also gives it that "factory" vibe. If you're just looking for quick, reliable dim sum with familiar flavors, sure, it'll work. But if you're after something more delicate and handcrafted, this spot won't be pulling me back anytime soon. It's good for a fast fix, but I'm not exactly craving a second round.

Ask the Community - CaiE Oriental Asian Bistro

Is there a menu for small children or adjusted prices for children?

Are the dumplings, steam bun, and siu mai made in-house or do they come frozen?

CaiE makes dumplings for her restaurant and scores of other restaurants. She has her own dumpling chef and serves them out of a cart on weekends.

The portions were generous with plenty of leftovers to pack up in takeout boxes for enjoying for another day. I am not a big lamb fan, but this New Zealand lamb was tender and non-gamey. The owners did an outstanding job of timing the dishes and engaging with our group while also taking care of other diners including non event patrons getting getting take-out and inhouse menu dining. The space is very small, but even with and almost full house, it didn't feel cramped. To start, you can't go wrong with the enthusiastic welcome we always receive. Then quickly seated and wine poured. The 2026 CNY menu was fabulous, with some great surprises. The ahi tartare portion anywhere else would have been a shareable appetizer. But each person was served a large portion of delicious fresh ahi. Mmmm this course and a glass of wine could be dinner alone any other evening. The soft creamy rich egg custard was hidden under a thick seafood gravy. I really enjoyed this unique dish. The miso black cod is always flaky and delicious. And the crab fried rice it's nestled on also never disappoints. The rich New Zealand stir fried lamb and shiitake mushrooms over pea shoots was a fabulous hearty dish on this chilly March evening. The braised short ribs were so tender no knife was needed, they flaked apart with the fork. And the e mein noodles were perfectly al dente. The dinner wrapped up with a crème brûlée that only Kwok's could pull off - red bean. Creamy smooth. Not overwhelming. The perfect burnt sugar layer on top. The regular menu is just as delicious. Small inside seating area, so recommend always make a reservation. In the summer there's a fabulous patio area out front. Limited street parking.

In case you're not aware, though the name of this restaurant references a specific city in northern China and the menu has dishes from across the country, their specialty is the spicy and numbing cuisine of the Sichuan region. If you've never had this before, when you see dishes listed as spicy, they may be very different from what you're thinking. It's certainly can be a polarizing experience, with many loving this flavor and many not into it at all, but the broad menu makes this a great call for everyone. Now I love dining with others who are familiar because it lets you explore the menu through their eyes and enjoy selections made by others with taste diverse from yours. My friend picked several dishes I would've never noticed or ordered blindly this time, and I'm so happy about that. We enjoyed the cold Woodear or black fungus in chili oil, classic snow pea tips with garlic, as well as the quintessential Sichuan cumin lamb, but the other three dishes we had were 100% new to me. Those included Sichuan snails (unshelled in an oily spicy stir fry), scallops with garlic and vermicelli, and crispy spicy intestines. The snails were a win. These are small and somewhat chewy morsels that get wok fried with fried chili, chili oil, peppers and onions. The texture is similar to sautéed calamari, but a bit firmer, and the sauce coats everything with that signature numbing heat. The scallops were the big miss. This dish typically comes in the half shell with fresh scallops, but here they're using a lower quality scallop (likely frozen) and a lot of pre-minced garlic (like you'd find in a jar). It looks impressive but the scallops had absolutely not flavor and the texture was rubbery too. Skip this one for sure. The intestines were the surprise. I've had fried intestines and they crunch like a chip and have no distinct flavor that lets you know what you're eating. These were sliced on the bias and wok tossed until super crispy on the outside with a delicately chewy interior. The sauce really amplified the flavor and this all made for a great bite within the whole meal. All in all, this is a home run. If you haven't been, I urge you to check it out, as it's one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants around.

First off, the ambiance wasn't what I look for when dining out -- industrial, loud, and filled with metal chairs. Not exactly inviting or comfortable. I ordered two of the recommended dishes: Thai Boat Noodles and Garlic Pork with Ginger Coconut Rice. Of the two, the Thai Boat Noodles was the standout it woudl be something I'd order again. The Garlic Pork dish including the rice, though, was a letdown. It tasted okay, nothing memorable. Take a look at the photo of my entrée: it looks sad and unfinished. With so many other great Asian spots both here in Reno and back home in Minden, we won't be back.
