If there's better take out Chinese food in nashville, I wish someone would tell me. I discovered this place during covid when they just had a little window they would open. They have the best kung pao shrimp I've ever ordered from anywhere. This is one of the few restaurants still using bamboo shoots and water chestnuts which is the whole point of Chinese food in my opinion. The same goes for the moo Goo Gai Pan. I ordered those two dishes from everyone else in Nashville and no one was using water chestnuts or bamboo shoots. No thanks. Everything else I've had there is fantastic and consistent. My mom and I order from here at least every other week. The other day she said, "Of all the food we order, this is the best." That's funny because we order from some pretty high-end restaurants. I love their special lo mein or any lo mein. They have a really nice Ginger sauce. The crab rangoon is always delicious. I wish they would sell buckets of the sauce that goes with the dumplings. The egg drop soup is the best I've ever had and when I get sick with any kind of a cold or flu that's all I want to eat. Same goes for their wonton soup. Their wontons are so luscious and soft. I have had better fried rice, but I don't really care about that. Few little pieces of pork would be nice in it. Every now and then we Branch out and order something new from there and we are always happy with it. However we always come back to our beloved Kung pao shrimp. I really enjoyed the food from Hong Kong. They have a very diverse menu and the pricing is extremely reasonable. The lady at the counter knew a lot of the customers and orders on site and knew a lot about the menu for questions. They have two tables for dining in but most visitors seemed to carry out. I tried the egg drop soup this time around. It had very good flavor and wasn't too thin. It was also cooked always the way through without any cornstarch clumps. read more

We stopped in here on a whim. It is a small, order at the counter, mostly to go place. There are 2 or 3 modest tables which are not waited on. This is all we needed at the moment. The food was tasty. I saw from the reviews the steamed pot stickers and the General Tsao chicken was a must and that did not disappoint! We asked the person taking our order at the register what their favorite thing was and ended up with the Singapore noodles that had a variety of meat and veggies and was also delicious. We order a green tea on the bottle and it was also delicious. Overall, we were happy and would return to eat there. Most likely as a pick up and go order, but it's a little far from our house. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in nashville. The dumplings have become a new favorite in this household. Not only are the dumplings a great price for what your get, they also come with the best dumpling dipping sauce I have ever had. The chicken tastes higher quality than other Chinese restaurants. The general Tso is a classic. The black pepper chicken was so good! I have never had it before. The garlic broccoli was good, had a little kick to it which i liked. My boyfriend really likes the dumpling soup, I personally dont love the dumplings in there. I think they are too big for the soup. read more

I tried this spot the other week when I was in the area. I ordered honey chicken with fried rice and it came with an egg roll. I also got veggie lo mein and egg drop soup with wontons. The chicken was great! The lo mein had lots of veggies I don't usually see in lo mein, which I was excited about. My recent go to meal is the honey chicken meal with rice and the egg roll. Larger than average portion sizes, but typical hole in the wall quality food. That's definitely not a bad thing, though: sometimes getting right around average food is super tasty if you're wanting to have a cheat day every once in a while. The shop is certainly not meant for eating-in, as the tables are few and usually a bit unclean. Every time we call they are polite, prompt, and have never gotten an order wrong. If you are looking for something quick, delicious, and affordable with no frills in West Nashville, Hong Kong is absolutely your place!
