The owners of this restaurant are the nicest people, and make everything homemade. If it's not on the menu, like Papaya Salad, or Cambodian Chicken Stew with Rice Noodle; just ask the owner, who's usually the server. More subtle umami than Thai food, more depth of flavor. We visited for the first time and wanted to try Cambodian food. We had no idea what to order and asked our waitress Millie for a recommendation. She suggested the Cambodian crepes. We also ordered the steamed dumplings and lemongrass wings. Everything we ordered was not only excellent, but truly special. The dumplings were delicate and flavorful, the lettuce, basil and cucumber for the crepes was so fresh and crisp, and the lemongrass sauce on the wings was bursting with fresh lemongrass flavor. Our server Jessica was the absolute best! My boyfriend and I have been here twice and each time it's been amazing. They don't serve alcohol so if you're looking to drink you should go to Reds across the street and bring it over. Tonight I got a beef banh mi and tried the beef bee bong. The banh mi was everything you would ever want from it. Pickled vegetables, tender delicious meat, crispy crunchy bread, etc. If you are ever craving a banh mi, you need to give this place a try. Now the beef bee bing isn't something I'd normally get, but it might be now that I've tried it. The portion size was huge, and I shared it with my wife. The dish was delicious, and it came with plenty of sauce. The eggrolls that came with it were perfect, and even if I dont end up getting this dish again, I would at least definitely get the egg rolls as an appetizer. Ordered food for takeout. I was skeptical at first since my first impression of them was a lot of waiting to pick up a catering order for someone's birthday and despite being on time for pickup, I had to wait another forty five minutes when I could have been drunk at a five year olds birthday party. But that's all aside since it was MY turn to try their food; mwahahaha!! I ordered their Mee Katang (spelling) and pad Thai as well as crab rangoons. Their mee kataang was great! Quantity was enough for two people. Just the right amount of sauce (though I would have added some hoisen sauce for condiments instead of soy sauce) and a ton of protein. A ton of veggies, normal amount of noodles. The pad Thai had all the ingredients on the side which is not your traditional pad Thai. I'll explain this since I love cooking. When a pad Thai is made Togo, most restaurants will put everything together; the sauce, the noodles, the bean sprouts, peanuts, etc. these folks know how to prolong the freshness of their pad Thai! It was done correctly and i was impressed! Quantity was good and looks and presentation was great! I can't say anything about their taste since the person who took a bite out of it was sick and I didn't want to catch what they got. But looks and smell alone will make me Order from here and that dish again! Now onto the main event... the crab Rangoons! These aren't your typical crab rangoons. They are a tad bit sweeter than normal. They are still delicious, crunchy and super creamy with a side or crab meat inside, but for my individual taste, I prefer no sweetness. Doesn't make it a bad crab rangoon! In fact, if I weren't biased with my taste buds, I'd give it a good 8/10! But because of the slight sweet flavor, im giving this a 5/10. Overall, im Cambodian so this may be a biased review but I tried my best not to especially after my first impression was during their grand opening. I'm used to the many Cambodian restaurants up in Lowell, and I was a fan of the old Apsara at this location. Tried Loc Lac, spicy wings, Khmer beef skewers, pad Thai, spring rolls, a banh mi, and house special fried rice. The pad Thai and rice dishes were very good, and the beef skewer was tasty. The Loc Lac was more like unseasoned sautéed beef cubes, rather than the flavorful beef coated with black pepper sauce. The wings were unlike the crunchy gooey wings I get in Lowell, and were coated in thick fish&chips type batter with no seasoning. The banh mi was OK, but sparsely filled, and they used a sub roll rather than a French baguette. The menu is still very limited, but they say they will be adding more dishes. I wish them luck at this location, but there is definitely room to step up their game. read more
