our first time trying this place and it was great! it is on the smaller side but a very cute little place with good ambiance and attentive service. the butterfly pea thai iced tea was delicious and a very good serving size. we started with the fried pork dumplings which i found to be different than i have usually had - they are smaller and the pork was less seasoned in my opinion but with the sauce to dip they were still very good, my hubs even ordered a second round! for my meal, i ordered the pad thai with beef and shrimp which i really enjoyed and was a huge serving so i got to take some home. my husband ordered the crying tiger beef which he enjoyed as well. overall, a great meal and we would definitely come back. read more

If you have been to the Sivalai location in Fairhaven, you know how yummy this local restaurant is - I actually think this second location is even better than the first! For starters, the decor is absolutely beautiful! You feel like you are stepping into another country. The walls and seating are tastefully decorated with plants, giving a warm and cozy feeling. The wait staff are extremely warm, welcoming and attentive. I ordered the chicken pho noodle bowl, and it did not disappoint! The broth was phenomenal, and the chicken and pho were fresh. They brought a large variety of assorted toppings for the pho as well. My boyfriend ordered the hot basil pad thai, and kept raving about how it was one of the best and most unique pad thais he's ever eaten. Amazing Thai place! I've driven by here a million times and only because of Yelp did I realize this was actually a Thai restaurant, which is my favorite type of food. I stopped by and ordered the shrimp and chicken pad thai, and spring rolls to go. Even by them time I got home which was about 30 minutes later everything was still so fresh and the spring rolls still crispy. This place was awful! Just another reason why I'm doubting Yelp reviews more and more lately. We were new customers and basically treated like trash. The waitresses started by ignoring us for a long time while they chatted away. Finally when one came over she took my iced pea tea order. Only she brought it out hot. When I said I ordered iced she got angry and left it there. Then when I refused it she said they ran out of iced and didn't take it off the menu. But isn't it just the same tea with cold water and ice? I ended up getting three iced teas since they were all ice. Then when paying she increased the price a lot.. about a dollar each. I pointed to the menu and she grabbed one off another table and said all the others are right but yours. I paid it but was pissed. The food was mediocre.. soup tasted canned but mushrooms were fresh. Massaman curry was passable but missed the flavors. Not awful though. The decor is cheesy and things are old and cheap. They pass around (or should I say grab around without asking) a spice tray with nearly empty gross sauces. And to top it off there are kid high chairs in the bathroom right next to the toilet. I wonder how clean the kitchen is?? Never going back. You're rude people, don't care about customers, and rip-off artists. Clean up your act and your dirty restaurant! Two stars because the appetizer was decent and the curry was above average. But one star for sneakiness, rudeness, cutting corners, and cleanliness issues. read more

Gold mine stuffed between a liquor store and laundromat! First time at their new location (other in Fairhaven). Food was outstanding, fresh, hot and delicious. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Although not a large space they have made it reminiscent of an outdoor cafe style dining experience. Our host/waitress was very attentive,but not over attentive, and always had a smile on her face. We started with a shrimp summer roll for two and it's was incredible. Light, crunchy, and served with two sauces, one sweet and another more peanut based. Both were delicious. I had the chicken Pad Thai and the wife tried the basil Pad Thai. She could not stop complementing the flavor and variety of items in her dish. Mine was the typical ingredients but the sauce was light and not too overwhelming They provide a selection of four different spices in jars at your table to heat up your dish if you choose. Either way your palate will thank you for any attempt you make in adding one of them to your dish. I would highly recommend trying this as I believe it serves one of the best Pad Thai's I have had. You would NEVER imagine this gem is quietly tucked away between a laundromat and package store in Dartmouth. But, it is and please, I need you to go there so it never closes. Hands down the best Thai food in the area. Until now, I had been relegated to visiting a restaurant in Middletown, (many of the waitstaff from there were at this restaurant - so may be affiliated?) Everything we ordered was fresh, fast and delicious. We tried the crispy veggie spring rolls, crab wontons, pineapple fried rice with shrimp, yellow curry with tofu, hot basil with tofu and the mango sticky rice for dessert. Not a bad dish in the bunch. Only hiccup was the wine situation. They could definitely benefit from a wine and beer list. I ordered a chardonnay and ended up with a moscato. Then had to go to the bar and look at the wines myself and pick one. They were super nice about it though, and eager to make sure I was happy. The service was so friendly and they were very attentive. We will definitely be back, and often. The place is small, and they do take reservations. I think you'd be fine normally without, but maybe on busier nights it would be worth a call ahead. read more

Thai is one of my favorites and yesterday I found myself in Dartmouth around lunchtime so this was a no-brainer; I've been meaning to try the one in Fairhaven since moving to the area. I had lunch combo #1, but I subbed veggie spring rolls and crab rangoon for the two apps it comes with. Apps came without crab Rangoon but the fried dumplings that came instead were delicious so I have no hard feelings about it! Lunch combos also come with a cup of chicken ginger noodle soup (tasty) and a salad plate-sized entree. Awesome place. Started off with Thai Iced Coffee , Thai Tea and Crab Rangoon. The Thai Iced Coffee is the best coffee I've ever had as well as the Crab Rangoon. The cream cheese and crab were so fresh. The crispy wonton crust was very tasty, crunchy and most importantly, not greasy. The Pad Himmapan (Cashew Nuts) was bursting with flavors and color. I usually always order from their Fairhaven location which I absolutely love and never have issues with but the last time I ordered I decided to give this dartmouth location a try. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai and idk something didn't seem right with the meat and within an hour after eating I got bad cramps and let's just say I had to make several trips to the bathroom in a very short period of time as well as being nauseous. I was fine all day no issue what so ever. It can't be a coincidence that the chicken didn't taste right and then this happens soon after. NEW If there was a zero, I'd give it. Service was terrible - 3/4 of us received our food and one of us didn't get served for over 30 minutes. Then, the steak was literally ALL fat & gristle. Server never checked back to see if we wanted a second drink & added 0.50 to the bill after saying she took off 20%. We also had to chase her down to see why one meal was taking so long. She then proceeded to clear & reset tables instead of checking on the meal. Once it was delivered, it was awful - the Crying Tiger was supposed to be marinated in garlic but tasted like teriyaki - more than likely, I got the wrong meal. First of all, I had ordered 3 Thai coffees to surprise my son who was picking up(so he didn't know)- and they never gave them to him, but we were charged!
