REVIEW ONLY FOR REWARDS CARD: I visit this store often as I live locally and it is beside my home and workplace. It is a great place for coffee, food, groceries, etc if you don't want to hike to Safeway. I gave them a 5* review for their food and stock. However their loyalty card system is annoying and concerning. You have to save your paper receipts (who does that in this technological age?) and carry multiple cards (worse than carrying a covid vaccine card around) to achieve a reward. It is outdated and useless. Worse is the paper litter around the area with cards and receipts blowing into the sea and peppering the landscaping. It is very sad to see. So please, update your rewards system to an online one so someone can actually be rewarded for their loyalty and more importantly to stop polluting our island with receipts and cards from your store. read more

Ordered the Shrimp/Rib plate. Brought it home to eat. We were shocked to see the meat. It was a 1/4" thick, a 3x4" slab, marinated and raw in the middle. We stopped here during a morning walk for a quick break and air conditioning and discovered it has so many great options. We ended up getting a whole breakfast here before continuing our walk. We ended up with Thai tea, Coconut Milk tea, a spam musubi, spam bacon and egg musubi, a chicken thigh and the Island Breakfast deluxe plate. The teas were so good and the service was amazing, Corrine was so friendly and definitely made our morning. The breakfast plate was average breakfast, but the chicken thigh was nice and crispy and tender and the musubi were average but very welcome. I loved that there was a spam, bacon and egg option- it's an easy on the go breakfast option. We sat outside and enjoyed everything and the pricing was great on everything too. This is a great stop for food for a group or a quick grab and go option before or during a busy day in Hawaii. They also have clothes, a big wine selection, other alcohol, shelf stable snacks and drinks and gifts plus shower and beach essentials you may have forgotten. read more

West Maui has just experienced another setback: a 24-hour blackout that shuttered almost every eatery from Lahaina to Kapalua. Even the restaurant at the venerable Ritz Carlton was not open for meals. But! Word soon got around that the Honolua Store was open not only for coffee but full meals as well. At 8 am the lines had already started to form: coffee and meals. as frazzled as these employees must have felt, they delivered aloha to all those in line. Although the wait could be long, it was well worth it for the quality of offerings.From cafe Latte to breakfast burritos, Honolua won us over. And yes, lunches and dinners were also served. We came here after driving around the area looking at sites. It was a very clean and large store with bathrooms that are around the back corner. There are one o feach gender and it is a single person bathroom so one personat a time. I believe it is affiliated with ABC stores, almost a higher end version of that. They sold alcohol, groceries, souvenirs, and in the back was a prepared foods area and made to order food area that had smoothies. We shopped around, got souvenirs, and ordered some smoothies. They were on the cheaper side compared to other places on the island and tasted delicious. Parking was easy in their private lot. read more

We LOVED breakfast at the Honolua Store so much we raved about it to our family and then returned the very next day for more. We ordered the Ube pancakes, Sweet bread French toast and Kalua pork breakfast burrito. My 6 and 8 year olds demolished their sweet breakfasts and I loved the fresh jalapeños in the burrito. Hubby enjoyed his coffee. We came back the next day and both my kids ordered the Ube pancakes and stuff themselves silly. I could not say no to another Kalua pork burrito though Kalua pork loco moco may be my next thing to try. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices were phenomenal. Ask for fresh salsa when you order. Bathrooms are outside, on the back side of the building - walk around the porch (past the picnic tables) to the left of the entrance and you'll find a single stall public bathroom. Dragon's teeth, the golf course and The Ritz are a stone's throw away so not bad options to walk off the meal a bit. There is also a nice walking path along the coast. read more

Just based on the name alone, Honolua Store is a place that I totally would've skipped over for lunch... thanks to Yelp for showing me the way so that I could get my loco moco fix! They serve hot lunches at their deli and many are the local classics. As other Yelpers have noted, the prices were reasonable - much more competitive than the typical sit-down places. I enjoyed the classic loco moco ($8). It was technically advertised as the "Loco Moco Supreme," but the only supreme thing about it was that it was *supposed to* come with onions. I say "supposed to" because it didn't. Similarly, we had to send back the Avocado BLT omelette because they forgot to include the veggies. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my over easy egg swimming in brown gravy with a tender beef patty on rice. They also have a kalua pork version. The ordering process was a little confusing- you order at the deli, then go pay at the front, and then come claim your food when it's ready. They won't give you your food until you furnish the receipt that says you paid (which makes sense, but they could be more clear about the process). They had picnic tables on their deck to enjoy the outdoor dining. This was a nice pit stop for lunch before heading out on the Kapalua Coastal Trail. read more

Pretty cool store. I don't think I would have stopped by but my parents come here every time they visit and love to grab a bit and eat outside. Turned out to be a great recommendation. They have a bit of everything including some decent grub in the back and some good coffee. So about that grub... Bacon Spam Musubi (5): Ooh! Big fat spam musubi's! What?!? With bacon?! We snatched up like 5 of these cause we had 4 kids with us and they were a hit! Can't go wrong with bacon. So good! Coconut Shrimp Plate (3): Normally I'd say you can't go wrong with coconut shrimp, and honestly you can't. But this was just kinda normal IMO. I mean, they fried it nicely, but I feel its just something you can find at the grocery store. Kalua Pork Loco Moco (5): Loco Moco with Kalua Pork! This one disappeared quickly. Gravy flavor was on point. Kalua Pork was moist and tender. Egg topped everything off nicely. Winner winner. They have a cool little coffee shop in the back. I think my wife got a boba or something. I got the coconut creme cold brew. Coffee on the islands is generally top notch and they made a decent cold brew. When we come to Maui we stay in Kapalua so we have visited the Honolua Store many many times over the years! It's a "hidden gem" in the middle of expensive Kapalua! Tons of items you forgot to pack, plus lots of soaps, lotions, snacks and souvenirs! And liquor. It's all at the expected resort pricing for the area. The deli in the back of the store is the real gem for a quick and cheap (for Maui) bite to eat. Breakfast, lunch or dinner- they have tons of choices! Food is solid. It's not gourmet, but it's definitely good and served hot. Recently had the Prime Rib Cheesesteak Sandwich $15.99 and Loco Moco Supreme $12.99. Both were really good! They also have self serve fountain drinks for under $2! Next to the deli is a coffee and pastry counter as well. On the Kapalua Resort grounds is this little store that is half ABC store and half grocery/deli. We ordered breakfast from here one day. The banana pancakes were big and fluffy but the real star was the banana caramel sauce that was just heavenly. We also ordered a breakfast burrito, which was a little on the wet side. While the prices at the grocery and ABC are a bit inflated, the deli prices are completely reasonable, making this the cheapest place to get food if you are staying at or near the Ritz. My daughter also insisted on a souvenir from the ABC store and they have a ton of touristy souvenirs and toys for kids. read more

The Honolulu Store is a nice little market located in the Kapalua Resorts area. It's filled with island souvenirs, groceries, and also has a restaurant/deli on the premises. i was looking for a quick bite after spending the day at the beach. I was checking Yelp and found this place is was recommended by a few Yelpers. This is actually owned by ABC stores which is the local c-store of the islands. What stands out is yes, it's on the Fairmont resort, but probably your best deal for food and most everything you forgot to bring. Food is fairly affordable and there's lots of things to choose from depending on your mood. We split a salad and a tuna sandwich that hit the spot for our ride back to Kihei. We also got drinks (i.e., coffee, tea and lemonade). I know my Waikiki lemonade was on the sweet side for me but very pretty. If you get a blended drink and want lightly sweetened, go for half, otherwise no sweetner is kind of bland. I thought this was my surprise find on the island and would probably come back again the next time I'm in Maui. read more

We stayed at the Ritz Carlton next door to this store and it was our go to all week. We saved so much money on alcohol and quality food. The deli has a variety of fresh and delicious foods for all dietary needs. I bought souvenirs for people back home and extra things I forgot to pack (sunscreen and razors). If you are in West Maui( Lahaina, Kaanapali or Kapalua area), this store is the best for your meals. When you are a family of 4, excursions and BLD daily all add up. Here, you can spend $50 or less for a family of 4 for you can actually buy lunch for $8-that is a steal in Maui. We loved their spicy poke(very fresh) and all their loco mocos. They have a plethora of choices but we kept coming back for these. This is the best food deal on the island (after talking to some locals in queue). We liked it so much not just for the price (we went to some frilly restaurants also spending over $200) but for the delicious food and most of all their customer service at the "deli"- thanks to Bobbie for his warm smiles when we visited 3 times (would have been 4 but the deli closes at 5) so do check their times. I will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family when visiting Maui! Lookedc around at all the things they had but I was interested in the liquor department. Wow so many choices to choose from. They also have small bottles of hard liquor that you can buy. You can buy liquor right there in that department. But there were so many people do i decided to go in line for lunch. You have to stand in the certain line to order follow the deli sign stand there, because I was in the wrong line at first. I was in a line that people were waiting for their food. So I hopped in another line. I got called up the last asked me what I wanted ordered 2 hamburger steak plates. The weird thing is you don't pay there you get a ticket/receipt then you go to the front of the store and pay there then you can back and wait in another line. There were so many people there nobody social distancing to close for me Sorry/ not sorry. I waited for about 15 minutes then my name was called lately I've been called Nikki not miki. I'm like um yeah that's me. We found a table outside of the place and chose to have lunch there opened up the plate and it came with 2 scoops of rice 3 parties with brown gravy and onions. I taught it had steamed veggies?!?! WTHECK! The gravy tasted alright as to where in a huge hamburger steak fan but this one wasn't good. It was pre-made patties that I didn't care for. Man, I wish this ABC Store-owned biz was closer to home as I'd be in a lot! We were staying at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua for the Celebration of The Arts 2019 so I was ecstatic I got to dine here twice this time. FOOD: Saimin - $5.99 Not bad at all, and a good portion size to boot. The dark broth had that traditional saimin-flavor of pork and veggies and came loaded with way too much luncheon meat, sliced scrambled eggs and green onions. The noodles were thick and cooked nicely. My only complaint is that it was difficult to spoon the broth from the tall container. I also had a "cheat day" and had my favorite item, the juicy and hearty Honolua Swiss Mushroom Burger too (see my previous review below). Highly recommended. In addition to the usual snack items, I also was introduced to Chic Naturals, a local company selling chick peas in a variety of flavors. Maui Onion? Yes please! Tasty and healthy. Meh - it was fine, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to come here. It was kind of just at a convenient location for my wife and I and our 3 small boys (6, 3, and 2). I got a burger and it was actually quite good. My wife got fish tacos and they were very average joe-ish. The biggest complaint I had was the wait. We were pleasantly surprised how great this little store near our hotel was. We came here to stock up on food and snacks before our hike (the spam and chicken make great hiking snacks FYI), to have breakfast (ube pancakes are a win) and to grab some sandwiches for our trip to the Road to Hana.
