Update I am knocking it down to 3 stars. We ordered food a second time here, 3 sandwiches (I think all ham and Swiss, so pretty simple sandwiches), called ahead of time, and they said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes. When we arrived at the time, they said an additional 10-15 minutes. We ended up waiting for half an hour before asking what was going on. They asked us what kind of bread we wanted 15 mins in and then asked what meat we wanted 5 mins before we received our orders. The sandwiches themselves were really dry and untoasted, so literally we spent over half an hour waiting for them to put meat and cheese on dry, white bread. I hate to give a negative review, but they shouldn't have promised our orders would be prepared by a certain time. We also had to go somewhere, which we ended up being late for, which was impacted by how long it took to make three simple sandwiches. Also, before we left, we tried the spam musubi and it was only okay. The rice was too mushy for my taste. I swear we could hear angel's singing when we bit into them. Other food worth mentioning were their Fish & Chips with Curly Fries. Although the batter was a little soggy from steaming inside the to-go container, they were still VERY tasty. The Chicken Katsu Moco was good, but not as amazing as we had hoped. All and all the Ube Pancakes were one of our favorite dishes that we ate the entire week we were there. Although we probably had 5 other "favorites," this is the one we keep talking about. After a fun day of golf at the Kapalua Bay course, I ordered the Wagyu Kobe Burger. It wasn't cheap at $19 but come on, it's Wagyu/Kobe beef, right?! I figure if I'm going to eat a burger, I should get a good one. It was a 1/2 pounder and that first bite was oh sooo good! I could have done without the mayo sirracha which only masked the tender and flavorful beefiness. The brioche bun was soft and was a great compliment to the burger. Fries were good too. It came with two slices of tomato, lettuce and a huge dill pickle on the side. Ate on one of the outside tables in the open air, had to wait a couple of minutes for a self-seating table to open up. Service was good and cooking time was not too long a wait. It was a great way to end a round of golf and I'd absolutely splurge on this burger again! Enjoy! read more

Perfect place to stop before or after going to Honolua/Kapalua beach! We decided to give this place a try for breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised! Lots of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Food is to go style with benches and tables outside if you want to eat there. They have custom coffee available as well. The ube pancakes, OMG, so fluffy and ube syrup was perfect! We also got the deluxe island breakfast and that was the perfect salty pairing. We will definitely be coming here again for future trips. This was a great place to pick up tasty breakfast and lunch while staying in Kapalua. Thanks to yelpers, I bookmarked this as a possible stop while on our Maui vacation. This general store was a take out food establishment and Gift shop. As far as the food, there's something for everyone. They had local-inspired dishes like pork adobo and beef stew, as well as hamburgers and eggs Benedict. Desserts and fresh smoothies were also available at the counter. In addition, there were some prepackaged salads and sandwiches. Prices were quite reasonable for the area and I didn't feel like they took advantage of the tourists by jacking up prices. There's an outside eating area with benches, and we were able to enjoy the beautiful golf course scenery while eating. We'd definitely stop by again the next time we're in Kapalua. read more

Underwhelming! We've been coming here for years and they have taken a turn for the worse. We ordered a poke bowl and a grilled mahi mahi wrap. My wife asked for a salad instead of French fries and got plain, lettuce. No tomato's, no other veggies, and NO dressing. Not sure if they know what salad means. I got poke and rice for a poke bowl. No crab, seaweed, no cucumbers... Also, several orders were ready before ours and then they tried to give me half my order. I had to point out that I still had a poke bow coming. This store is SO underrated. We stayed at the Ridge and it was so close to us, maybe 2 min drive. It is very clean, has literally everything and is conveniently located. There are even souvenirs for friends and family back home. We were waiting in line for The Gazebo one day and it was taking so long, so we came here instead and it was a perfect breakfast. I absolutely love the Honolua Store! This is a must on your trip. I recommend staying at one of the 2 resorts, or renting a VRBO condo right on the Kapalua Coastal Trail. This grocery store is an absolute gem!! It reminds me of a smaller version of Whole Foods. I love their menu. They have an outdoor dining area overlooking the golf course, and if you time it right, you can catch an unforgettable, intimate sunset for two, or with your family. Or it's great for take out if you want to head back to your balcony. It's great for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Some of my favorites are their fish and chips, and hamburger and fries. But they have quite a selection, everything from steak and fish, to excellent breakfast choices. They have a lot of drinks and smoothies. They have quite a selection of high quality, very fresh food. There are also island delights you can pick up like Hawaii's salt water taffy. The Honolua Store is perfect for stocking your refrigerator/kitchen with food and snacks. And they have a lot of beautiful, delicious smelling soaps made right on the island. If you are looking for souvenirs to remember your treasured days in Maui, they have very unique island souvenirs. Got ignored for ten minutes and when my wife finally tried to order very politely assuming there was a reason for the delay.. this dude snapped at her telling her she needs to slow down and he's only one person. The Honolua Store is well stocked and you can find everything from groceries and alcohol to candy and souvenirs. My review is of the deli in particular. The food is surprisingly good. The chicken teriyaki is lights out, the new york strip plate - solid. But why three stars you're asking? Because F you, that's why. That's the attitude from the deli at least. The employees aren't giving off like a menacing or threatening F you kind of attitude, but more of a "hmmm... can't think of a good explanation so let's just respectfully settle on F you." kind of attitude. The deli closes at 6pm. Any other store you would expect that means the menu is available up til 6pm. Not the case here. 6pm closing time means they start stowing away all the food a little after 5pm and only provide the main items. This was how my ordering experience has been (It's the only place in walking distance unless you want overpriced hotel food). First day there to pick up dinner: Me: Hi. I'd like the teriyaki chicken plate. That comes with vegetables, right? Deli guy: Oh we don't have vegetables anymore. Me: Oh. Okay...what time do you stop serving vegetables? DG: About 5:40pm Me: It's 5:35 DG: Oh...yeah...(go F yourself I guess?) Second time ordering - time: 5:15pm - deli counter already cleared. Me: I'll have the teriyaki chicken and...looks like no vegetables again. I thought you don't stop serving them until 5:30? The wine selection was incredible, floor to ceiling bottle choices (why didn't we discover this sooner?) and lots of good souvenir options. They had quite a few different varieties of Kona Coffee to take home as well as macadamia nuts (savory & sweet), plenty of Shirts, hats, Knick knacks and impressively any sort of sundry item you would need. Anything you need, you will find it here! I stopped in on my way to Dragons Teeth Trail. It was very busy with the lines in various spots that you can order in the store. I had a coffee, which you pay for at the check out coffee counter. If you want something from the deli, you order at the deli & then while your order is being made, you go to the front register to pay & bring the paid receipt back to the deli. A bit confusing until you actually pay attention. The Order process could definitely be improved with a one spot option. I ordered for a brunch time meal. It was very good and felt it was on the larger size portion. Staff is local and very friendly. I will stop back in for delicious food & supplies while on Maui. Don't miss this cute stop! read more
