Don't pay $11 for a $2 grilled cheese sandwich. My chipotle chicken had 1 slice of meat and maybe 3 slivers of "caramelized onions" if you could call them that. I also ordered a bottle of water, was charged $2 and they handed me a plastic cup of tap water. I asked them if they had bottle water and they do not. They should have clarified that I am paying $2 for ice cold tap water. 1 star for polite service otherwise zero stars. read more

Get your cravings filled with comfort food. Tasty and prepared to order, the food from Honolulu Bistro satisfies. The weather is overcast, the air feels damp and is just pressing you down. You know what would make you feel better? A grilled cheese sandwich and some hot tomato soup. Why? I have no clue. I just know it works. Young or old, it is a comfort food that fills you without weighing you down. Go ahead, take a bite. Dip the corner of your grilled cheese into the goodness that is tomato soup. The goodness of the food is reflected in the goodness of smiles of the people that work there. It's like they know that they are about to give you what you need to be happier. Love this place! Their sandwiches and smoothies are so yummy!! I haven't tried their rainbow grilled cheese yet but everyone that has gotten it said it's super good! My personal favorite is the pastrami and the OG grilled cheese! The pastrami is so delicious and melts in your mouth! I've only tried their green smoothies but I love them! Everything is made fresh to order. They have a small counter you can eat on and a cute shop! read more

The service is amazing but the sammies aren't the best. When we first went at their grand opening the grilled sammies were delicious! I went just the other week and they've fallen off. I got the local grilled cheese. It was $15 and it was the same size as a grilled cheese I would make at home with plain white bread and butter even though the description said "jumbo white garlic bread." The grilled cheese was extremely greasy (not normal corned beef greesy but like a puddle of grease) and didn't sit right in my stomach. read more

If you know me, you know I *love* grilled cheese sandwiches. Now every time I crave one, Honolulu Bistro has become my go-to spot. Before that, I always defaulted to Zippy's... so this is a BIG step up. My favorite thing to order is the Pesto. Get your camera ready because the cheese pull is no joke! It's so cheesy, crispy, and delicious... I honestly can eat half and be happy. They also have the Pesto Delux, which includes Turkey, but I don't even feel like you need the extra meat! The Pesto is perfect just the way it is. On colder or rainy days, definitely recommend adding on some of their homemade tomato basil garlic soup! Although not a grilled cheese, Honolulu Bistro also makes a killer PB&J. I always go with crunchy peanut butter with strawberry jelly, and the whole sandwich itself is dusted with powdered sugar. It's definitely more of a dessert sandwich that can start to feel pretty heavy after the first half, so it's great for sharing with a friend! I love that they have online ordering. It makes grabbing take out fast and easy! No need to deal with the crowds inside Ohana Hale Marketplace. The only miss for me so far has been the smoothie my boyfriend and I shared. It was very thick and didn't really have much of a taste. I'm all for using natural ingredients, but I would like there to be some sort of flavor. Skip the pastrami and tomato basil, it's highly dissapointing compared to Wholefoods pastrami sandwich and Aloha Salads tomato basil. The tomato basil was pretty watery like a can of V8 and the Pastrami meat didn't look freshly sliced. Local business that we stopped by on a busy Saturday afternoon. Excellent customer service and the food was yummy! Got the rainbow Aloha grilled cheese for the IG and the Pastrami (no picture) was delicious! We will definitely be back soon to try some other sandwiches and the juices. Highly recommend! I got hooked on their Pastrami sandwich from my 1st visit. There are so many places I've ate at where the pastrami is so rubbery. The pastrami melt here is super tender and the sauce is fantastic. So disappointed in Honolulu Bistro. This sandwich was $8.88. The last time I was there they put way more corned beef. This is like one little piece broken up into a whole sandwich. Plus no honey mustard in the box. Looks like a meal from Fyre Fest. Also this sandwich took 20 min to make and I was one of two customers. The entire staff was in the back the entire time. I feel sorry for whoever else ate here today. read more

Ordered one of their Mango juices (mango, apple, honey). Wife and I shared it and thought it was really good. The customer service was great! The person helping us was able to navigate us through the drinks as this was our first time. I had already bought my lunch but stood there looking at all the reviews about the pastrami sandwich which she told us was one of their top sellers. OMLG! This might be my new favorite to go place. This is my third time visit and had to give a shout out. The service is amazing, very friendly. The food is so comforting. The Pesto Deluxe and Da Aloha is my favorite. Don't forget to add a tomato soup. The place is small but inside is so captivating. The chandelier, pineapple light, etc. is a perfect touch. read more

This place is not worth the money. The difference between a pesto sandwich and the deluxe is $2 and ONE slice of turkey sliced so thin it's basically nonexistent lol. I tried to take a picture but you couldn't see it.... also their small drink is $7 and biggest is $12. Which is a regular mason jar. I can't get behind that. The fruit stand next to them makes delicious fresh fruit drinks for $5! I also didn't enjoy their tomato soup it's very acidic. But my bf pointed out maybe that's intentional because their sandwiches are full of butter and cheese. So that makes sense. But I'd rather go to Earl sandwich. Or even Ruscello. This just wasn't worth my money. Customer service is really great tho! Something the management might look into is getting them a bigger grill. They can only cook 4 sandwiches at once which, if it's busy like today, must be super stressful for them lol. read more

Hubby and I both had a fruit smoothies. My avocado smoothie was citrus flavored with no sweetness or avocado freshness at all. My husband got a fruity smoothie and didn't like his either. We both got the large size in mason jars thinking they were going to be delicious. The jars are actually nice and come with lids. Service was friendly. Unfortunately, won't be back. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to make a trip over to the Ohana Market specifically to try this place, and they did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and quickly offered to answer any questions that we may have about the menu. We quickly decided on the Local Deluxe sandwich, a grilled cheese sandwich with corned beef and hash brown inside that may have ruined any other grilled cheese sandwiches for me, in the future. To drink, we got the Four Seasons, an awesome juice mix with Orange, Pineapple, Guava, Lemon, Strawberries, and Honey, and a Black Amanda, a delicious coffee drink. We are both definitely looking forward to going back. I definitely need to try the pastrami sandwich! read more

As soon as you enter Ohana Hale Marketplace turn right and walk down the hall and you'll find Honolulu Bistro on your right. The owners are a really friendly married couple with a cute little boy. All their juices and smoothies are made with real fruits and veggies without any added sugars or powders. When we visited we tried the Four Seasons smoothie as well as the Power Greens. Both were very delicious and you could tell the ingredients are fresh and natural. My sons enjoyed them and they're picky with everything!!! We also ate the Nutella Fluff sandwich- it's so delicious, it's like a giant s'more sandwich. Really tasty. We also had the chicken chipotle sandwich and my boys ate it all even though I had ordered it for me! I only got a few bites! It was tasty and filling with some spice to it from the chipotle sauce. Look forward to trying other items on their menu in the future. read more

I have passed by this little eatery several times and made it a point to go there after I saw a post by Frolic Hawaii with a photo of a toasted cheese sandwich. It was that convincing! Even though all the back and forth with opening and closing businesses during this terrible Covid pandemic, I'm glad I was able to give this local business a try. I ordered a pastrami with cheese sandwich. It's a little pricey but the sandwich does not disappoint. There's a good combination of cheese with onions and pastrami. I also ordered a Four Seasons, which was awesome. It was had a good mixture of the 4 fruits plus honey. Also a little pricey. I want to support local businesses during this time so I'm ok with it. My grilled cheese was super gooey and yummy. It was a pretty big sandwich, I only was able to eat half in one sitting. My husband on the other hand, ate all of his. The coffee was also good. You could really taste the coconut. We got lost right when we walked into the marketplace so we called the owner and she directed us right to them. We definitely will go again. read more

I ordered the Smoked Salmon and Bacon sandwich, the Apple Pecan Salad with balsamic dressing, and a large cold brew. I paid online and sat outside for maybe 15-20 minutes. I never did figure out whether I was supposed to get a notification that my order was ready, so eventually I just went inside to check. Sure enough, it was ready. Easy enough, and everyone I interacted with was incredibly kind. Then I got home and opened everything, and THAT is when I became really impressed. I had included a note with my order that I planned to eat the salad the following day and asked that the wet ingredients be kept separate. They absolutely understood the assignment. Everything was packaged so thoughtfully. The Apple Pecan Salad was beautiful, incredibly fresh and substantial, with the ingredients carefully separated so it would keep. It wasn't some obligatory pile of greens tossed into a container. You could actually see the care that went into making it. The Smoked Salmon and Bacon sandwich was equally good. Fresh, generously filled and absolutely delicious. I ate half the sandwich and some of the salad and was completely satisfied. Between the two, I can easily get four meals out of what I ordered, which makes the value even better. And the cold brew? Wowzer. Robust and delicious! I think what impressed me most was simply the level of care. A sandwich and a salad aren't complicated foods, but doing simple food really well takes effort. You want a beautiful looking bowl with a lot of different toppings, yet some toppings can go up to 1 dollar PER topping. I didn't try the Oreo mille crepe cake myself, but the little one said it was good. The service and cleanliness were also lacking. Our table was dirty when we were seated, and we had to specifically ask someone to come clean it. The garbage can nearby was also filled to the brim, which was not very inviting. Overall, the lack of attention to cleanliness and service made the experience less enjoyable. We've visited Mango Mango many times in the past and have generally enjoyed it, which made this visit particularly disappointing. Hopefully, the food quality, cleanliness, and service improve.

Honolulu Bistro, located in Ala Moana right next to the food court, is a must-try spot. My wife and I had seen their famous Rainbow Grilled Cheese on Instagram for a while and finally decided to give it a shot. The experience was delightful! My wife opted for a smoothie and then couldn't resist the Nutella and banana sandwich, which turned out to be absolutely ono (delicious)! I ordered the Rainbow Grilled Cheese and the Tomato Bisque, and they did not disappoint at all. The seating is limited, but the island vibe and chill atmosphere make it a cozy place to enjoy a meal. The staff was friendly, and the food came out quickly. We're definitely planning to go back and try more items from the menu - I can't wait to taste the peanut butter and banana sandwich! I love Honolulu bistro. I think I got the turkey pesto sandwich if I remember correctly, such a good sandwich with the tomato basil soup holy moly so good. I actually went there first at their original spot, which was located by the old Ross but their location at Alamoana is such a cute little spot and they even have a Instagram wall to take a photo such a cute place the ambience in there is a vibe. Omg I walked by this gem that's directly outside the Ala Moana Food court. The good vibes written in fluorescent immediately catches your eye through the windows. As soon as you walk in you're met with Hawaiian music flooding the room and from behind the counter, bright smiles with greetings of aloaha. This visit the coffee menu caught my attention and I had their signature cold brew iced latte and was absolutely blown away by the taste and quality. Needed a quick pick me up yesterday as I entered Ohana Hale to grab some lunch and saw a cute vibrant shop called Honolulu Bistro. I ordered the Black Amanda while my boyfriend got the Exotic Prince Coffee and it most definitely did it's job. Also, we were hungry and we decided to grab the Pesto Delux!!! 10/10 cafe! When you come in, you are greeted by lovely staff members that are so welcoming. The way the shop is decorated is super cute, I absolutely love it! The food they serve is so delicious, I love getting the pastrami with egg especially with the tomato soup. We also got a 15% off coupon from the hotel upon check-in, but never used it. Service can be hit or miss. Some of the servers were great and on top of it. Others looked like they were not thrilled to be there and also missed the mark on service. For example, one served us a coffee with milk spilled all over the tray. He then proceeded to set the cup down, and wipe his tray, not registering that the bottom of the cup would also be dripping from the spillage. We were also provided with creamer that had a noticeable black dot in it. May have been a small fly, but we weren't planning on needing it anyways. The complimentary breakfast (courtesy of CSR) was more limited than I remember it being. We only stayed two nights, which was perfect because I would have gotten bored of the breakfast options if we stayed longer.
