Definitely the WORST shop around. Had my sled for 16 months with no work progress. Brian is a liar and it appears unless you have a new machine, he is clueless and does not care about his customers. Each time I inquired about my sled I was lied to and given false information on progress, waiting parts, etc., even when the part arrived, no progress for 8 months. I picked up my sled, note 16 months after dropping it off, the engine was partly torn down, parts were in a box and some missing, inch of dust and NOT to the progress he promised 2 months prior. When I inquired about the sled over the spring, Brian told he wasn't working on snowmobiles again until September, I asked in Sept. and he said it was on the lift being worked on, no contact for 3 months, when I went in, my sled was tucked n the back with a pile of other machines full of dust, waiting to be worked on. friend had similar experience. A frequent customer. Excellent shop with good knowledgable staff and service.. (Brians great) . Its a smaller, local kind of shop. Their prices are not marked up like big chain powersports stores.Theres not a ton of stock on the shelves, (compared to a big dealership) but they have more than the basics, and they can always order any/every thing you need, with fast shipping... Ive always been satisfied on the quality of services Ive had done there, from tires to tune-ups. Its usually done quicker than the dealerships, and the hourly service rate is much much cheaper.. Just keep in mind, its not a dealership. Theyre fairly busy, so dont expect a employee and salesmen to cater to you every desire as you take a wander around the store... Have a little patience if theres other customers in front of you. Overall, a good LOCAL shop, with competive prices all the way around. read more

These guys are amazing and really know motorcycle maintenance and repairs. Old and new, I thought I was going to have to retire my old XS and GS. Not the case, they sound better and run smoother than ever. Service was fast, considering how hard it is to source and ship parts on some machines. They look cleaner than ever too. Hoodview performance review I made an appointment last February (2019) to take my Yamaha in for service on the 20th at which time I provided the mechanic (Brian) with factory shop manuals and a parts source. After a three month wait, I called Brian for an update on the progress of my bike and he said he couldn't find parts. The part he needed was a coil which I ordered the same day from the parts source I had told him about three months earlier and had it shipped to his shop. Over the last six weeks, I have called Brian four times for an update and each time he would make excuses or false promises. After waiting four months, I picked up my Yamaha from Hoodview. No repairs had been completed. When I got home, I found the Gas petcock had been left turn on and the oil feed line had been disturbed resulting in an oil leak. What a disappointment! A few days later, I delivered it to Motoco in Washougal for service. After a two-week wait, I picked the bike up and it ran like a Swiss watch. It was delivered on time and cost less than estimated. There were no disappointments. I would avoid dealing with Hoodview and highly recommend Motoco. Thank you for listening. read more

I had my rear tire replaced on my 2007 CBR600RR and the chain tightened, and Brian did a good job. It was nice to come to the shop and have a quick chat with a real person rather than a corporate salesperson. When I went to the back of the shop to pick up my bike and it was nice to have a real conversation with the staff, they seemed actually genuine. I'll definitely be bringing more business to this shop. read more

Do not waste your time here. Period end of story your money your calls and your expectations mean nothing to these guys. Do not be another bump underneath their tires; as far as parts go I hope they do better than their service department because it is utterly hopeless and is a pile of vehicles to which you should not have to lose yours to as many others (myself included) have. read more

This place is the worst!!!! They had my bike for 3 months after the 1st month I started calling him once and week and all brain would say is one more week! Finally sent my brother down there cause I was sick of dealing with it.... brain then kick my brother out his shop after calling him names( then called me and told me it would be done the next day)....picked the bike up not working and him flipping us off! What a joke this place is!!! Don't go here in less you want long wait times! And alot of being lied too read more

Not impressed by the work or the service. The job that was supposed to take 2-3 weeks took 2 months. There was no communication about progress. When I called to check up I was told weekly that it would be done early the next week and also told not to call back again and that they would call me for sure when it was ready. This went on for several weeks. I stopped in the shop to talk to them in person and found out that the job was finally done (they never called me like they said they would). The parts that I had painted were not prepped correctly. It looks like after finally getting around to painting they just rushed through it and sprayed over the old cracks and chips instead of sanding them smooth first. I will not be going back and would not recommend this shop to anyone. read more

Not impressed. Brought in two atv's for pretty routine service. No routine call backs or status updates given, had to stop by in person over and over to find out what was going on. Told it would be a couple weeks, took three months. The other job was stalled off every week that we checked on it and told it could take an unlimited amount of time. at this time has been four months. While waiting in line to find out again in person what was going on the person in front of me was checking on their item in for service that had been in for four months as well. Definately do not reccomend going to this shop as it is nearly impossible to get your item back. As far as quality of work the repair we were having done was supposedly already done by them last time. Exasperated and frustrated and would hate to see others go through this experience, that appears to be routine business here. read more

First I would like to say that I normally write reviews however in this case I feel the need to warn others so you don't get jerked around as I did. I have used Hoodview a couple of times for my jetski service. This last time was by far the worst service I have ever received. I originally called to schedule a carb cleaning back in April of last year and was told they were booked for about a month so I set up a drop off date in the 3rd week of May. I called a few days before drop off to confirm.... still ok. I called them when I was on my way the day of drop off and they said they didn't have me on their books and would have to wait a month to bring it in (end of June). Obviously I was not pleased. I end up bringing it in and was told it would be about $60 more than what I was originally quoted... not happy but fine. I wanted it back for the 4th of July weekend (almost 10 days out) and was told no problem... should take just a couple of days. They didn't have it done on time. I had to keep calling them for updates and was told everytime that it would be done in a day or two only to find out they hadn't even started it yet. Finally they said they got the carbs clean but it wouldn't run correctly and thought it was the stator but wasn't sure because they didn't have the shop manuals to to check it. After almost 2 weeks they said they checked it and it was bad. (Hard to believe since the motor was an new SBT motor with only 6 hours on it. It took them a couple more weeks to get the stator in. I was told it was going to cost over $1100 to replace it... the part was only $215 and the rest labor. Over $900 in labor??? Brian said "well yeah we have to pull the whole motor out to do it, its a big job." Later I found out that they didn't pull the motor and just pulled the tank to do the work saving them a total of about 6 hours but of course Brian still charged me for the full 10 hours. By this time it was well into August. Everytime I called I got the same song and dance about how it would be done within a couple of days however everytime I stopped in at the shop it had not even been started on. Oh by the way he charged me a 50% deposit for the work up front. One time I stopped in and he said it was done but it wouldn't run - bad stator- he wanted me to pay for the labor to do it again. At this point I was having a hard time believing anything this guy told me because I had been lied to so many times. Somehow he wanted to make this my problem - obviously we had words. About a week later he said he was able to get the supplier to take the bad stator back and was getting a new one. Now it is the end of August. I had to say on top of Brain like stink on poo and just kept getting excuses as to why it hadn't been done yet. At one point Brian even when as far as to say "Well you know we have other customers to take care of". This of course pissed me off even more. How about you take care of a customer whose ski has been here for months instead of taking in new business. I had to wait a month not once but twice even to get mine in the door. It wasn't until mid September before I got it back with a total bill of over $1500. Thanks for taking all ski season to do what should have been a couple of weeks tops. In conclusion do not take your toy here for service... that is unless you want to be lied to. I would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND this shop. The owner doesn't give a shit about his customers. read more

Two Waverunners we purchased had recent work done at Hoodview by previous owner. Since work was under warranty we took both skis back to Hoodview for repairs. After several visits and same recurring problems it became apparent that workmanship and bad cs would be ongoing. Skis were returned in "repaired" condition with: 2 stripped head bolts (one bolt completely missing), 5 missing other bolts, oil lines not attached (filled hull w 2 stroke oil resulting in lost compression), hose clamps not tightened, 6 header bolts not torqued (one was actually 2 turns from falling out) along with several other untightened misc bolts, PLUS the flywheel bolt obviously not torqued which caused starter to not engage because flywheel came loose inside the engine case! Hoodview knowingly returned skis ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASSIONS with stripped threads in the engine (head bolts) and said nothing. There's absolutely no way a mechanic could not know these were stripped! read more
