Hook & Plow at the Marriott Waterfront
Karen V.

It was a great breakfast! It's the hotel restaurant inside the Seattle Marriott Waterfront. We thought about ordering from the set menu, but decided that the buffet breakfast would be the better value. It was a good decision. They had just about everything for even the pickiest eater. My favorite items were the fried home potatoes and crispy thick-cut bacon. We were both impressed with the crispy and tasty potatoes. My husband had to get a second helping. The pastries were also very good, as well as the coffee. The service was great. Our cups were never empty. The coffee was topped off when needed. They checked on us often. I wouldn't hesitate to go back if ever in the area again.

I was invited to a private event at the Hook & Plow (inside the Seattle Marriott hotel), and enjoyed their delicious catering, attentive waitstaff, and open bar. We were served a buffet style spread of 2 different salads, smoked salmon and capers, cocktail shrimp, lobster bisque, roasted vegetables, prime rib, and baked salmon. There was also a bread basket, coffee and tea stand, and assorted mini dessert trays at the end of the meal. The venue was medium sized with indoor and outdoor seating, and I could imagine using this space for a variety of private events as well as a regular restaurant. I believe they serve their hotel breakfast here in the morning. One star off because parking was expensive ($60 valet only) and the bartender gave grouchy vibes when you asked for a mixed drink. If you can walk a little further to use one of the many public garages around, or look for street parking, it's a better deal.

I went about 915 on a Sunday morning and the line moved pretty slowly. I just ordered a side biscuit and gravy and it was good. My water never got refilled while I was there though.

We walked in on a Friday for breakfast. Service was great and the food was fantastic! Good portions and really fresh fruit.

Our server Hank was amazing. We were not expecting high end coffee and such amazing food in a hotel restaurant. His recommendations were stellar.

This is the restaurant inside the Marriott hotel. It's...ok. It's perfectly just a-ok. We dined here for breakfast. Don't expect to just walk in. We had to put our name on the list and wait about 30 mins. No biggie, but just plan for that. Our server was...busy. Definitely seemed understaffed. It's a bit on the pricey side for what you actually get. But that said, my breakfast burrito was quite sizable and tasty. It's a hotel restaurant. Keep your expectations in check and dine because it's convenient.

All American breakfast

We were staying at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront hotel and received a voucher for breakfast on Sunday morning. We arrived around 8:15am and were greeted and seated by very polite servers. I ordered the fried egg sandwich, however, I don't like hard fried easy over eggs so I asked for scrambled eggs on the sandwich instead and they were able to oblige. My partner got the All American breakfast with over easy eggs. Both meals were absolutely excellent and cooked to perfection. The country potatoes are huge so you have to cut those down to eat them, but overall both were really great meals. I'd return to eat here again.

The food at this restaurant is good. I'm not sure that there is adequate help as our server seem d very stressed. I had the fresh pasta with salmon. The past and salmon were good. My wife had pizza which she enjoyed and everyone at our table seem d satisfied with there meal. Overall, if you're staying at the Marriott, the food is good and you can avoid walking uphill.

Corned Beef Hash

This restaurant happens to be the resident restaurant on the Marriott Waterfront campus. I had the Florentine Eggs Benedict and two guests had the Corned beef hash. My eggs Benedict was buttery and delicious and the small potato spuds were deep fried with a wonderful crunch on the outside. The corned beef hash is had real corned beef chunks and the guests that ate it raved.

The food here tastes great. I tasted two different types of omelets and both were really good. The ambiance is basically an upscale hotel restaurant. Our service was great and our server John, made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely eat here again! You can also order takeout or have it delivered.

The service and food were great. I had the razor clam chowder, Skuna Bay salmon, forest mushrooms, and vegetables. Absolutely amazing.

The crust was on the thicker side and packed with rich garlic flavor. The center of the flat bread was more flavorful than the edges. Crispy Karaage Chicken Wings - The karaage seasoning comes as a powder rub. It wasn't my favorite because it didn't taste much like traditional karaage. It's also a bit messy to eat, so be careful not to get the powder on your clothes. Interestingly, the flavor reminded me of Maruchan shrimp flavored instant noodles. On the plus side, the portion size was generous and offered good value for an appetizer. Gambas al Ajillo - This dish features spicy garlic shrimp and chicken chorizo. The shrimp was fresh and well cooked, though it wasn't particularly spicy. The chorizo brought more heat and had excellent flavor. I highly recommend ordering this alongside the flat bread. We used the gambas garlic oil/ sauce from this dish as a dipping sauce for the bread, which added a delicious extra kick. Espresso Martini - They make their espresso martini using drip coffee, and surprisingly, it works really well. This was my first time having one made this way, and I enjoyed it. Service & Overall Experience - The service was excellent. Our server checked in on us regularly without being intrusive and gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meal. Overall, both the food and drinks were solid, making for a very enjoyable dining experience.

But the only time we saw him was when we tracked him down to order or request our check. The blasted broccoli used to be my favorite. They've changed it and it's not as good. Other of our favorites were missing from the menu entirely. (Oh where did you go, spicy shrimp with shells?) We did like the karaage chicken wings. Liked them a lot. I'd say to be sure and order them. The ravioli and mushrooms would have been nice, but was so overly drenched in brown butter it was not pleasant. Who knew there could be too much brown butter? This dish would benefit by a bit of acid - maybe a balsamic drizzle? The best part of the tandoori style chicken by far were the interesting garnishes along with the tzatziki. The chicken was just a vehicle for the rest.

We went later in the evening so it wasn't as lively but I'm sure it would have a really fun vibe filled with people. The servers were nice but maybe not the most attentive. Again, end of the night, I can understand them being tired. Now the most important part, the food, was amazing! I believe there was one guy cooking all by himself and he did a fantastic job! We got the popcorn cod as a starter which was so fun and inventive. Think crispy fried chicken bites but with fish. So yummy! For our mains, we shared a grilled skewer of pork belly with applesauce, a skewer of grilled shrimp, and a life changing grilled cheese made with goat cheese and lingonberry jam! The flavors complimented each other so well and it was just melt in your mouth perfection! I want another just writing this. We also got a flight of their meads which was lovely! The next time we come up to Seattle, we definitely want to coincide with one of their events! We just missed the cheese and pickle pairing class which would've been fun. Overall, such a unique space and restaurant idea. I wish more places were this creative. Definitely come here with a group so you can do family style. So many yummy bites to try. As for us, we were eyeing their huge pretzel with beer cheese. That'll be on our next trip.

Honestly, I have never been to a city where the bad restaurants and bars cosplay so well. Fortunately, this bar is actually really really good. Their happy hour is an infuriatingly tiny window (4-5p), but really really good. 50 percent off of every drink, and 25 percent off all food. We had some of the best truffle parmesan fries I have ever had here. It came with a black garlic aioli that was also incredibly good and left a really strong impression. We got 8 different drinks, if you include a 3-amaro flight, and all of them were storied, complex, herbaceous and delicious. They printed out cute little descriptions with lots of great context too. That flight was $21 pre tax tip and also pre the 50 percent off happy hour. It was one of the best flights I have ever had. They have a section for amaro-based drinks. We tried two of them and they were stellar. We also got 2 non-alcoholic (N/A) drinks that were both some combo of delicious, complex, and refreshing In a sea of middling bars with $22 drinks, herb and bitters stands out. Their patio space with a clear roof feels like a lovely sun room with lots of christmasy trees. The menus are printed in these cute little kids books. This place is stellar, and you should definitely go. Please keep them in business. In short, a stellar list of cocktails, N/A options, a great (even if short) happy hour and a wonderful place for amaro nerds with some shockingly delicious fries.

Get those for sure. We ordered a ton of drinks, apps, and plates to share. The staff are polite and friendly.
