Albacore (Shiro Maguro), Squid (Ika), sushi rice.
    BW J.

Once again an absolutely amazing experience. This time around we had "Snow Fox" and the "Shrimp Crunch" as well as salmon roe, Ika, and albacore. All of which tasted fresh and so good. Everyone here is so nice and so attentive. The sushi chef behind the counter is the sweetest and rewarded us with another fresh orange dessert. The wasabi that comes with the roe is different from the usual type. It's authentic and tastes much stronger and so much better. And their sushi rice is one of my favorites, surprisingly. This place is so cute, and so nicely decorated. One of my favorite places to go for sushi. The prices are very reasonable, in fact I think they're very nice for how much food you're getting and the quality. I absolutely love this place.

A name like hooked on sushi gets your attention. I scrolled to it while browsing Uber eats. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. I am hooked on their lunch specials. $10.50- can't beat it. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl. Wasn't hooked on it, but it was decent.

This place definitely hit the spot. Food was great and service was better. Must try Will be back soon

Hooked on Sushi is new in town and we decided to give it a try for date night. Walking in we were immediately greeted and offered to pick a table. The restaurant is decorated in typical small, sushi restaurant style. There is a small sushi bar and TV. I love that the sushi menu has a breakdown of ingredients, so smart! My partner tried the chicken karage to start. It was crispy and well fried. He then ordered chicken fried rice for his entree, and it was fine. I tried the amigo roll and veggie tempura roll. The amigo roll was good, not nearly as spicy as I expected. The servers are still working out flow, so at times we had to flag someone down. Overall they were attentive enough, just needed some prompts that are typical of a new restaurant. All in all, didn't blow me away but was a nice experience. We'll put it into the rotation when we're looking for somewhere different than our usual haunts.

I would of did a 2.5 stars but no half stars. My food was good and my sons said his food was okay . Chicken was dry . When we typically go to sushi spots, they typically bring the sushi out first instead of the last item. Service started off good but as soon as they got busy and looked like the bigger parties ordered beer and liquor they seem to forget about the patrons only drinking fountain drinks . After we received, it seem like the restaurant got real busy . Customers behind us sat down 5-10 after we got there and left seams there dinner was canceled or ? . Don't really know but they didn't look happy . The ambiance looks to be catered to more drinks and sushi . This is my third time back after the new ownership.

Fresh sushi served here. The spider roll was delicious; just wished they didn't add imitation crab. Bento was so yummy. The salad was fresh and had an amazing soy/mustard dressing. The tempera had delicious coating and was very crispy. It was absolutely perfect. The portion size was bit small so I should've ordered few more sushi orders. Service was great and enjoyed eating here. Enjoy! Highly recommend.

I am always on the hunt for a great sushi bar. Well I think I have found it. My friend and I went to Hooked on Sushi yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Very clean and the owner is really friendly. Really nice menu and they have a board of specials. I ordered the Tuna tower and miso soup and my friend had an avacado roll. It was delicious and fresh. I think I have found my new place.

Just tried this place for the first time and it was great! I was on my way to Sprouts and noticed a new sushi place. I looked it up online and the pictures looked nice so I had to try! I got the Sunset roll, Bluefin tower roll and Salmon carpiccino (I probably got this one's name wrong) to go. All super good and fresh! Some of the freshest I've tried and a top contenter for best sushi on the west side of town. I came for a togo order and the waitess was still very nice and attentive. She even gave me a free ice cream macaron :) I only have a picture of the Bluefin tower roll in my togo box (it'll look different if you dine in); I ate the other rolls without taking any pictures. I got full pretty quick and was sad I couldn't eat it all in one go. I gave the rest to my partner. Three rolls filled us both perfectly. The place is very trendy and modern and I got a kick of the creative names of the rolls. I can't wait to go back and have the sit down experience!

    Delicious fried Calamari

Best sushi joint I've been to thus far. After seeing this place on Yelp, me and my husband and I decided to pop in for an afternoon lunch. Boy, was I amazed. We ordered the fried calamari for the appetizer, and they brought out actual calamari. It wasn't like the cheap rings you can get at Red Lobster or many other asian locations. I could feel the sucker on those tentacles. And they were delicious! For the entree, we requested the lunch special: sushi and roll combo, and the aesthetic was on point. It tasted just as good as it looked. In addition to such, we also ordered the Second Climax Roll. The flavors paired each other so well it was truly a delightful taste. This place is definitely a must go for any sushi fan and a perfect small location for a date night.

Here's the front. Behind shell. Apple Maps made it hard to find.

Apple Maps didn't want me to find this place. But I did. Was greeted almost immediately. That's always a plus. Wait staff really hopping and making effort from the start. I got an iced tea, it was kind of odd, so I switched to dr. Pepper. I got a little overwhelmed by multiple menus and no pictures, so I just went for a combo. Presentation was very pretty. The non specified variety of sashimi or fish on rice, not sure if I have right term, was a bit too exotic for my taste. It was fun to look at, though. I got an avocado roll to supplement since I couldn't eat a good part of the combo. I'm used to sushi having some wasabi in the roll and I think being more chilled, but everything was definitely very fresh. If I had been less hungry and not disoriented with low blood sugar I would've ordered individual rolls and likely been more comfortable with the price point. Bit of a drive for me but next to Sprouts so easy to grab groceries after. I hope they do well.

I've been on the hunt for a go-to sushi place that's close to me & decided to give this place a try after seeing all the wonderful reviews & it did not disappoint! The restaurant is very clean & well-decorated. The service was great! Our server was kind & very attentive. The food came out so fast and it tasted delicious & fresh! The portion sizes are spot on for what you're paying. Overall, a great dining experience and will be a frequent customer.

    Ahi Tuna Sushi

Service Our server was friendly, fast, and efficient. He also made recommendations, which I am planning on trying next time. Ambiance Cute little sushi/diner spot with lots of seats for quick turnover. I may try to eat at the sushi bar the next time I'm in. I recommend going early, at 11 AM, like we did. Although it's located in a grocery shopping center, and the parking lot is very busy, it's still very worth it. Food Here is where Hooked On Sushi truly excels. The first thing we ordered was the gyoza, which came out hot and crispy. The dipping sauce was delicious and made the whole dish unique. Next, we ordered the ahi tuna sushi, which was the perfect little bite. The tuna was topped with a light sauce, roe, and scallions-I didn't even need soy sauce. Yum. Next came our main dishes of shrimp yakisoba and shrimp tempura udon: the yakisoba was fairly standard (still very good), and the udon broth was soooo good! Lastly, we ordered an item off the daily specials called the Tuna Tower. I can't say enough good things about this dish. You just need to try it. Although I admit that it's hard to eat with chopsticks (mostly because I'm not skilled), once I started using my spoon to eat it, I was in heaven. The Tuna Tower is an extremely well-balanced and flavorful dish. The quality of this meal was extremely high. I was not expecting this level of quality given the name and location. Shame on me for judging a book by its cover. Value/Price The lunch menu is very affordable. The sushi was reasonably priced. The special was a little more expensive than I would normally go for, but it was ultimately so worth it. I highly recommend this place!

The restaurant itself is definitely on the smaller side but they also have outdoor dining as an option. This is what one would call a hidden gem because we were definitely not disappointed as we were walking away. Once you sit down you'll realize that this is a restaurant where you're having several random servers taking care of you. So once we finally decided on our choices everything came out fairly quickly even with there being a half full restaurant. We started with some pork gyozas which is one of my husband's favorites & he was happily pleased... they were very fresh. We also had some of the tempura shrimp & onion which were both perfectly cooked without being greasy. As for the sushi we went with the shrimp tempura roll which was some of the best, the rice was cooked perfect plus everything was balanced just right. Then we also had the spider roll which I just loved because I love soft shell crab... OMG with the avocado & cream cheese, there were zero complaints on my end! Overall everything that we chose was so delicious that we've since been back to grab take away from here when we're craving some fresh sushi!

I really enjoy the ambiance and service there, but learned quickly that with larger groups the Peoria location is best for us. One of my kids graduated from college last week and he wanted to celebrate. All he wanted was to have sushi and to celebrate with our relatives who came from out of state. We didn't know if it'd be doable since we were on the other side of the valley. We called, gave them our party size (12) and eta. Low and behold, they were able to get us a reservation. We get on the road to make it to our reservation 0745-0800, they close at 1000pm worse case scenario we get there by 0800 and we still have a good amount of time for the AYCE 90 minute experience. We get there and they have a sign out for the AYCE, last call 0830pm. We go inquire about the last call and our reservation being at 0745. They reassure us that we would still get the full 90 minute experience. At about 0800pm they tell us our table they thought would be available is not available, they say individual parties instead. A guy comes out and tells us that the time frame they gave us was an estimated time, we let him know that was not what were told, but we also got a text confirmation. He tells us, well the Weather is nice. We can accommodate you outside. We agreed. They got the tables all settled and we're about to sit down. The same older man tells us, that the last call is 0830PM, ummm what? They tell us well we can try and get everything in, but the last call is at 0830. You can stay until 0900, what?! I let him know that was not what there hostess had told us, we told him they said we'd still be served and given the 90 Minute experience. He said well I don't know why they told you that, I am going to have to go let them know that is not the case. It's now well past 0800pm and restaurants are closing soon and we are a large party. I was incredibly disappointed at how everything was handled, and how easy it was for the gentleman to just dismiss and shrug his shoulders like oh well. I was incredibly disappointed at how everything was handled, and how easy it was for the gentleman to just dismiss and shrug his shoulders like oh well. What was supposed to be a special celebration for our son's graduation turned into unnecessary stress and disappointment. We made the reservation based on the information their staff provided and planned accordingly, only to be told something completely different once we arrived. Had we been told upfront that they couldn't honor the full AYCE experience or accommodate our party as promised, we would have made other arrangements. After being loyal customers and recommending this place to family and friends, this experience made it clear that customer service and honoring commitments are not a priority. Unfortunately, that was our last visit For reference, when they sent the last text, we were already onsite.

This place seemed like our best bet. Since this time of year is busy in AZ with so many snowbirds, I booked a reservation through the online portal. It didn't end up being necessary. We were seated right away and never asked about our reservation. The restaurant is located in a strip mall. From the parking lot, it looks small and more like a fast food place, but it is actually looks double the size once you get inside. It has a nice sit-down ambience with new, clean, and somewhat rigid booths. Straight posture was definitely encouraged here in these upright seats. Although it does seem like a lot of people might order items to go, we were shielded from any traffic while eating. To start, we shared some sushi rolls. The spicy salmon was nice, but I really liked the sweetness of the unagi eel roll. They were a little sloppy in preparation, but this didn't impact the flavor. Each plate came with 8 pieces of sushi, some sliced ginger, and a small ball of wasabi. My uncle asked for an additional plate of wasabi and the server delivered it, but he commented on how they usually end up throwing it away because most people don't eat much of the green ball of fire. The table had a container of disposable chopsticks as well as two types of soy sauce. I was delighted to find the 50% less sodium variety with the green label. small plates with one paper napkin each were part of the setup. We had to ask our server for more napkins after my husband splatter soy sauce all over himself. The server brought just two more. It really wasn't enough to fix the 101-dalmatian spots he had acquired from the black soy splattered all over his white jacket. We also ordered curry. My uncle indulged in the pumpkin curry with shrimp. The bowl was massive - much bigger than mine. I had the red curry with tofu. It was beautifully presented with perfectly formed cubes of extra firm tofu lined up in the yellow soup. There was also bright red strips of bell pepper adding a pop of contrasting color. Unfortunately it didn't seem like my curry was well blended. It was as if they added cold coconut milk to a hot pan and it possibly heated up too fast causing it to separate and slightly curdle. Despite this, it still tasted good. I did have some trouble with the large size of tofu and the length of the bell pepper strips. I wish both had been just a tad bit smaller to fit in my mouth. I only had a spoon, so cutting the pieces wasn't an option. To go, I ordered the spicy green beans with shrimp to take home to my mom. She enjoyed two meals out of it. The shrimp was large and plump. Plus there was no shell or tail to pull off making it much easier and more pleasant to eat. Our bill came out to just over $100 with iced tea and sake added to the above. It seemed reasonable for the five plates we ordered. We had come during happy hour where certain items are a dollar cheaper, but I don't think we ended up ordering off that discounted menu. All and all, it was a decent meal and experience. I might come back here because of the convenient location and the availability of both sushi and Thai curry on the menu.
