This did not start out as a five-star review... why? Well, it was purely emotional. My husband and I have been coming here for at least seven years or so. It's always been the same: kind and amazing people serving delicious sushi. Well, today we came to find out that it was under new ownership. What?! We had to be honest with ourselves and realize that we were a bit apprehensive. We came to the conclusion that it's not exactly the same as it was with the previous owners, but the new owner kept some of the same recipes, and it was pretty close. The new owner, server, and sushi chef were all friendly, kind, and hospitable. The food, though slightly different, was still delicious. A casual dining environment with very thoughtful and prompt staff, That will check with the kitchen if you inform them of any allergies. The sashimi is VERY fresh and thickly sliced and the maki rolls are very generous in size as well. All in all, Next time I'm in the are, I'll be heading back!!! read more

Good food and large-portioned meals in an unassuming strip mall. The only real negative was my server didn't know what other beers they had besides Sapporo. He listed the names of them and I was unfamiliar of them, and couldn't tell me if they were an Ale vs. Lager etc. And when I asked he said he wasn't sure, and he didn't offer to go look/ask someone. Since I like Sapporo, I ordered it (but would have liked to know what others beers they had and what kinds they were). The spicy beef yakiudon was quite good. The meat quality and cook was good, and the ratio of noodles:beef:vegetables was very good. The sauce itself had just a little bit of heat to it, but by no means would I consider it "spicy" for someone who eats spicy food. Overall, it was good! Wow--what a hidden gem! This has officially become my new go-to sushi spot. I came here with my boyfriend on a Friday evening, and although it wasn't very busy, the atmosphere was perfect. Our server was so kind--they even comped our edamame and surprised us with an extra discount in honor of the restaurant's 10-year anniversary. Such a thoughtful gesture! The food was incredible--fresh, flavorful fish and the edamame was spot on. I was hoping to give Sushi Bros 5 stars but sadly this visit and the last few have been a bit of a letdown. I decided to stop in for a quick lunch with my daughter. We ordered our usual, gyoza, calamari tempura crunch roll, salmon crunch roll and the shrimp tempura roll. The gyoza were nice and crispy and tasty but once the rolls arrived they were a bit of a mess. The rolls were so loosely rolled that when you tried to pick them up they immediately fall apart, everything in the center separated from the seaweed and rice. Not only were the rolls very loose and sloppy but the flavor was just not there. We used to love sushi bros but we are finding the quality has decreased and the prices have risen. The waiter was friendly and tentative and the restaurant was very clean, but it's not enough to reel me back. read more

I ordered 4 sushi rolls(60 bucks) and could only eat 2. They stuffed so much cream cheese in. The other 2 rolls they weren't even edible. Americanized sushi rolls do this nasty stuffing of the cream cheese i didn't think a family owned sushi spot would sink this low to fill a roll up. I'm a much bigger fan of this sushi place than all the ones closer to me in Central phx area (includes Fuku, sushi vibes, Yama). I'd much rather drive an extra 5-7 min to this place and avoid the exhausting mess of that crowd. There's a time and place, but sometimes you just wanna sit down and have awesome sushi in a relaxing low key vibe. This place is it. They do not have full bar service like the places mentioned but they still serve the usually expected drinks (wine, sake, asian beers). We ordered 4 different rolls and I'd definitely order any one of them again on a later visit. I especially like the presentation of their baked dynamite roll. Service was wonderful (granted we were only one of 2 parties at the time) but I wouldn't really see that changing the quality of service. They came by just frequently enough.
