Had a less than satisfactory experience today at Hooters Joliet. We frequent this location and unfortunately today our experience wasn't that great. We ordered fried pickles which came out fresh and hot, which was great! Our mains which were the boneless combo came out cold, even though we had to wait on one entree because the kitchen sauced them wrong, so i'm wondering how something could be fresh yet cold. Unfortunately our server Bethany Ann wasn't very attentive to our table as she was some other patrons in the restaurant, so about 10-15 minutes after our alcoholic beverages hit the table I was able to tell her we weren't fans of them and asked to replace them with a mule. She told me because they are specialty drinks she could not take them back, and she didn't talk about replacing them. I have never heard of this rule in my years of dinning so I wondered if it was specific to Hooters, unfortunately I didn't get to ask management in person so if someone could confirm or deny that statement, it would be appreciated! Once in a while, too much sauce is not enough, and drinks are not always the same when they are made. Service is hit or miss. I went to this hooters on Saturday the 13th with my girlfriend. Our server was by far one of the best servers I've ever had. Her name was Dayanara. On a work trip and tried to get a decent order of wings and a cold beer in Joliet Illinois. I got an order of bone in "Daytona wings" and they were mediocre at best. The average wing was about the size of my pinky finger. I tried to give it another try and ordered the breaded "original hot" and were bland puny wings some smaller than before.. no heat just butter. All while struggling to get the attention of the staff to get a second beer for well over 10 minutes. As I am eating at the bar I witnessed 2 different fry cooks handle raw chicken with gloves and then continue to cross contaminate a total of 15 different surfaces, utensils, cooler handles, and steam cover handles along with wiping on their aprons before discarding their gloves. Management should check the tapes but I would say only about 70% of the kitchen staff was wearing face coverings. I never add negative reviews especially because every restaurant is struggling right now, but feel like this dining experience was horrible at best... watching the cooks (plural) potentially spread salmonella was the icing on top of crap service and crap wings. Absolutely crazy policy on dining there. The restaurant was empty but hostess told us we had to make a reservation in order to dine. Had to do so online and not in person with the hostess that greeted us. She stated it was a new company policy and that the help were not happy also. We opted to sit at the bar to eat; no reservation required! Dinner was good! All staff had masks and gloves on except the bartender! The bartender was taking care of clients, folding paper napkins from the roll that she had. Again no gloves but touching every sheet of paper off the roll. Of all employees, She should have had gloves to do her work! A couple of the waitresses that did have gloves on were noted "playing" with their long locks and serving food! In the late afternoon on January 20, 2024 a friend and I stopped in the Joliet, Illinois Hooters for some chow and a ballgame. The Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and the bacon Cheeseburger were cooked to perfection, satisfying our finicky palates. The Caramel Cheese Cake was DELICIOUS, and melted in my mouth! The service and ambiance were incredible, as our servers, Lolly and Taryn, were attentive, charming and exuberant as they ensured that our dining experience was entertaining and pleasant. The place was packed when we got in and the host told us she could not seat us together in one table and offered to give us the only two tables by the bar that was available. We even opted to be seated outdoors, but when we hot there, we decided to ho back indoors because of the humidity, that when a high table for six became available. The host said they can add more stools to fit us all. I've been dining at hooters a lot, including the one in Aurora and in Downers Grovel, but I say, hands down, the girls here are very courteous and friendly and treat you like they've known you a long time. I thought hooters only had two kinds of wings: Mild and Spicy, until my friend ordered five kinds of wings, and all of them were delicious! I wonder if it's only available in this location. We had pitchers of refreshing Mango Cart beer.. One disappointment though. They had no Oysters. DId they take this out of the menu? They offered clams, and out of curiosity, we ordered it., It was overcooked, chewy tough, and overpriced. Makes me think of the unlimited clams at the nearby Japanese buffet. I went to Hooters in Joliet today 9-2-22, orders 10pc wings plain and 10pc wings hot, two ranch dressings. (The bill was $33.00) From my home to Hooters is 7 miles each way. Got home bit into a piece of the bone in plain chicken and it was RAW. Completely RED on the inside and even the bone was a bright/pink/red. You could clearly see the chicken wasn't cooked. I bit out of the bone in hot chicken and it was also RAW, so they must have been from the same batch. I started to put them in my oven and finish up cooking the wings, but after paying $33.00 at Hooters I shouldn't have to do that. My food should be cooked. I called Hooters, asked that they replace my, order and told them I was on the way. A young lady answered and advised she would let the manager know. I arrived at Hooters and the Manager Paul came to the counter and examined the chicken and the first thing he said, oh it's the Marrow. I replied, Sir I cook and eat chicken often and your chicken is RAW. He then picked up the half eaten piece of bone in plain chicken, then he picked up the half eaten hot chicken wing. He says that's odd, all of our chicken is cooked on a timer. (As if that was impossible) My response to him, then something must be wrong with your timer because you can clearly see I have been given RAW Chicken. He nicely says, I will go back and get you some new chicken. He brought up both orders of chicken and showed them to me and they actually looked a 100 times better than the first order. The manager put them in a bag, and I say sir you should have also compensated me with at least an additional 10pc, especially since I was given RAW chicken and went home and had to return it. The Manager said NO, would you like some extra WET Naps. 'WOW"! I won't be returning to this HOOTER'S. I spent a lot of MONEY, TIME and GAS on 20pc WINGS. (Total 28 miles) I'm still trying to figure out WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE. I plan on calling the Corporate Office of Hooters if there is one and request they refund my money to compensate for the non-customer service skills of a Manager "Paul" who they have put in charge. Even McDonald's have better management. Worst service I've ever had at any Hooters ever. We drove an hour and were going to a show at the Rialto after dinner. Could've gone anywhere, but we go to Hooters whenever we can. Got there a few minutes before 5:00, perfect time. We were seated right away. Husband went to the restroom, he came back I went to the restroom. I saw our waitress standing around chatting at the hostess station on my way back to the table. After not going to this place for several months because of the atmosphere and lousy service I decided to give this place another chance. Things started out good, but went downhill fast. My waitress was very timely in taking my order. But it was another girl who brought me my food. When I ordered another beer, it was still another girl who brought it to me. The place had just opened do it wasn't that busy. Then towards the end of my visit, the locals started showing up with all their little brats in tow. Finally I asked for my check. When it finally arrived by my original waitress, since it came to $32 and change paid with two twenties. Then I waited. And waited and waited for my change. Finally I got my waitresses attention and asked for my change. She obviously felt that she was going to get to keep the change as a tip. And frankly, if she had brought my change back, I probably would have told her to keep the change because the place was starting to get a little busy. I have been to several Hooters all over the country. I have always had decent food and great service. But not at this one. This used to be a great place until a few years ago. And there are still a few girls there who are really sweet and really do a good job. But they are getting fewer and fewer. And I never get them as as my waitress. It seems like this location is another example of how Joliet screws up everything it touches. I will be moving out of Joliet in a month or so.
